Young Ajax in the Jupiler League

we won 3-0 very comfortable . Nouri Cassierra in the 1st half and Tete on 62 the third. Only watched on a small screen
but it looked a good performance by the usual star players. de Jong played the 2nd half in place of v d Beek and 10 mins from the end Savastano for Sanniez and Mazraoui for Kluivert came on.

Sierhuis didn't play? That's really bad!

Re above and Sierhuis not playing last night .Clearly they wanted Cassierra to get 90 mins in but Sierhuis should have come on for 10mins. He played for A1 again today and got his usual goal.(not enough we drew 1-1 with AZ )

Ajax still wanting to do well in the U19 CL and thus Sierhuis is being played still at A1 level, thus he has played in 6 out of 7 U19 games since the winter break.He should be playing every game for Jong now.

Ajax youth is all about developing players but with Sierhuis still stuck at mainly U19 level we see Redan still at U17 level in the league (10 goals in 7x U17 games since the winter break) He should now be playing at U19 level.

Main thing about Jong is the development of our youth is very positive this season. Cerny,de Ligt Clement Nouri and de Jong plus v d Beek all playing plenty of Jong games this season and in the first team squad . Zeefuik and Eiting doing very well although Kluivert has gone from U19 to the first with little Jong games.

Excuse ramblings . VVV still lead us by 5 points ,(8 probably once they play their game in hand) but we are 7 clear of 3rd place Jong PSV.10 games left.

It's ridiculous. Of a player is getting a good rapport, he should be on the bench for the first team. Kaj Sierhuis is one of those players, Cassierra isn't ready yet

100% agree Cassierra doesn't impress me and is not ready for the first team.Sierhuis is a natural goalscorer,3 goals in 3 starts for Jong.I too would have him him on the first team bench .

I think they know all about Serhuis from his development time at Ajax but they don't know Cassiera all that well. Management probably wants to give Cassieria more games to see if he is worth keeping on. They already have decided that Serhuis is the real thing.

They scored on 12 mins but a nice goal by Cerny on 22 . Neres quiet at the moment

2-1 to us at Ht. Neres starting to play and uses 2 feet.He made our 2nd . Broke down the right, stopped pass inside, not sure who to, another quick pass to the feet of de Jong on his left foot took the ball into the area and a lovely left foot shot for the 2nd. Pure quality football. Jong pass and move the ball forward quickly,a joy to watch.

de Jong superb ,he ran from his own box to their box before being tackled. He should be starting v Copenhagen next week and not v d Beek,he is better all round player.Nouri not at his best yet and nice to see Cerny playing on the left wing.

3-2 defeat ,poor 2nd half.They scored on 52 and 81.We seem to run out of steam as the 2nd half wore on .Neres played an hour with Bay replacing him and after their 3rd Walian came on for Sanniez.Still 2nd in the table but this defence was very poor.

So we seemed to run out of steam in the 2nd half and let in some soft goals. Neres started to show some promise ,Cerny was ok for an hour ,when on the left wing ,but changed to the right once Neres went off and was not so effective. Cassierra had an off side goal and a shot hit the bar but not ready to play instead of Dolberg in the first.
Nouri worked and schemed hard de Jong very good. The defence were all poor and Alblas is a moderate goalie

Still 2nd in the league as our lead over 3rd place was 7 points before tonight.9 games to play

I watched parts of it but the stream here in the US was poor. I missed all five goals amazingly enough.

Home to 3rd place Volendam tomorrow 20.00 CET ko, should be streams.We are 5 points clear of them.

Expect to see Zeefuik and Eiting return but Nouri and de Jong will still probably play most of the game. Cassierra and either Riedewald or Westermann to play.

Eiting may well play CD and Mazraoui DM. Again a very weak defence ,Dankerlui was aweful on Friday at RB . Sanniez and Cerny not there , maybe injured or just not up to 2 games in 72 hours.

Our A1 youth have a cup match tomorrow so Sierhuis will be playing in that game.He did play 90 mins on Saturday.

Finished 1-1 .Nouri a goal on 7 mins and they scored on 67 a deflected cross.

Will comment in few minutes ,better wash up first!

Well we had 65 % possession and only 5 shots on target. Zeefuik's cross was headed in by Nouri. One or 2 shots went close. Volendam are 3rd but did't impress.Their goal was a cross which took a deflection to the far post but Zeefuik was not close enough to their scorer. Our defence coped ok but are very poor players.Zeefuik ok attacking but not defending.

I actually thought our best defender was Mazraoui at Cd ,tackled well good on the ball ,ok never going to be a first team player but this lad has to play a different position every game and is never our worst player.

de Jong and Eiting looked quality as usual. Up front Cassierra didn't impress and Kluivert was ok .Neres again some nice touches but 12m ,you are having a laugh !! Neres and Kluivert played 62 mins Bay and Walian replacing them.

And finally we saw just 45 mins of Nouri , dont think he went more than 1 min without the ball good finish for the goal conducts the team.Took a knock on his calf and didn't return for the 2nd half .Savastano replacing him.

Basically I enjoyed ever minute of the first half just love watching Nouri ,a different game in the 2nd without him.

Thanks, I "tuned" in right after halftime and watch only parts of the 2nd half as the stream kept freezing. I think Frenkie de Jong is the real deal and every time I see him he is better. I missed Nouri!

Neres again some nice touches but 12m ,you are having a laugh !! just love watching Nouri ,a different game in the 2nd without him.

Haven't seen enough of Neres to form an opinion, but this is worrying. If he can't impress in a jong game...?!

Hope the knock isn't too bad with Nouri. I wonder is there any chance he would be in the squad for thursday. If Kobenhagen get away goals we're in a situation, where we would need some serious attacking mentality and skill. Nouri could be the ace up our sleeve.

Not saying Neres wont make it but in 2 brief games for Jong he does not look a 12m player but Cassierra doesn't look a 5m player.

Not sure if Nouri went off injured or they just gave him 45 mins so he can be involved on Thursday.

Ajax probably could have purchased Sam Larsson who is only 23 years old from Heerenveen for less money than they paid for Neres. I hope it's just the adjustment period for Neres (new country and new language) and that he will settle in.

I dunno -- Ajax has a history of signing Eredivisie players who are outstanding for their original teams but for one reason or another don't turn out so well playing for Ajax. Most recent cases in point: Ziyech and Gudelj.
