26 OCT 2016 Kozzaken Boys - Ajax Beker Cup

Cup match against Kozzaken Boys on Wednesday. I don't know much about this team other than they are below the Jupiter League. I expect there will be significant changes to the lineup with a lot of substitutes getting a start. Would love to see Nouri in the lineup for this one.

Looks like it is an early evening match in which case I probably will miss it as I have other things scheduled at that time.

What an amazing name for a team . To save anyone looking up Wikipedia they come from Werkendam south east of Rotterdam ,just east of Dordrecht. Kozzaken is Cossacks in english and named after the Cossacks from the Russian Army who liberated the city from the french in Napoleon's time.Ground holds 2500!

They lie mid table in the new 2nd division ,ie 3rd league and the the top team goes up to the Jupiler next season .Jong AZ top but there is an Amsterdam side in 3rd place, AFC the other Amsterdam Football club ,(we played a friendly last summer ,ground is just south of the RAI .Buitenveldert district.)

There is now a 3rd division split into Saturday and Sunday groups and the winners of both groups now go up. I only mention this as there is one Amsterdam side in this division and they are way ahead of their group and look like going up .De Dijk from North Amsterdam (Schellingwoude the most easterly part of North Amsterdam)

It would be good to have a 2nd Amsterdam club in the Jupiler league.

Only hope Gudelj does not play . de Jong who has been ill and de Ligt ,now promoted to our first team squad, should get on as subs.

Westermann is a waste of space. I hope Riedewald plays. And then starts seeing regular first team on a senior level.

I too would prefer Riedewald to Westermann and assume El Ghazi and not Clement or Younes. Bosz may want Riedewald and Westermann to be CD but de Ligt surely should play.

I can understand El Ghazi and Bazoer losing their places but agree with Amol. Riedewald is a fine player and should be playing instead of Viergever .Tete is a superior defender to Veltman and Veltman is nothing special attacking.

Overlooked el Ghazi. Of course he starts. I don't know where Riedewald should play. I think he prefers MF. I don't think he is as steady a defender as Viergever and maybe he should be given a run at LB which is where he played when he came into the team a couple of years ago.

Also agree with you Ayman. What is the purpose of Westermann. Veltman Riedewald both play CD and de Ligt should soon be involved regularly .I dont see Westermann ever being needed for our 1st team unless we get a lot of injuries.

If I had my way, Riedewald should always play DM for us. If not full time, he should at least split games with Schone.

Nouri and Cerny really look impressive. Though the Kozakken defensive line can't be much of a test for them. Like we have stated so many times, would be very interesting to see them play in an eredivisie game.
