I've heard that Alex Buttner, who was in our youth system before going to Vitesse and then ManU might be available as his Russian club, Dynamo Moscow, were relegated. He was on loan to Anderlecht last year. He's certainly a better choice at LB than anyone else on the squad.

It seems we're trying to sign Hakim Ziyech from Twente. He's an attacking midfield. A position that is lacking creativity and quality. Is he any good? At least he is a international for the Morocco national team so he can't be too bad. He is 23 so many good years to come and could even develop a bit.

Ziyech is a good player and led Twente to victory over Ajax in Enschede last season. Problem is that long term he prevents Nouri from moving up as they play the same position.

Is nouri ready yet to take that step. Maybe ziyech could help to bring him in. He could start by coming in as a sub for ziyech so he wouldn't have so much pressure. Ziyech could be something like a mentor and when we lose him to a bigger league nouri might be ready to fill that role.

From what I've read Ziyech will come and one or more of Sinkgraven, Bazoer, and Schöne will be leaving. Price for Ziyech appears to be €12M.

Ziyech would be a good mentor for Nouri.Ok I am already a hugh Nouri fan,think you all know that,he is good enough for the first but still needs time to develop.Probably needs to play as a sub to start with .

Last season Ziyech was the best player in Holland and I am surprised no one has signed him yet. I would take him .

Ajax could have agreed Twente's demands on Saturday and Ziyech would be signed now but Swansea Burnley and Everton are interested and Swansea have evidently offered the asking price.

Load of hype and Ajax should have bought him before the season started but I fear we have dithered too long and he will come to EPL.

Ajax wont spend their cash and we end up with rubbish signings like Westermann.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. I'm not sure that Ziyech is a good fit here with de Jong and Nouri waiting in the wings. I'm growing increasingly pessimistic about where European football is heading given the new proposal to change the CL in a way that makes it almost impossible to qualify for once the new format is set up. The fact that Ajax would likely be consigned to perpetual EL football doesn't thrill me at all and we ought to focus on just winning the league each season with home grown talent.

Wesley Snjeider was a regular at a Ajax at the same age Nouri is right now. Let's get him up to the A-Team and let the fireworks begin!!!

De Telegraaf is reporting that Ziyech is having his medical this morning at Ajax and will be unveiled to the media this afternoon.

Yes hes signing ,rather Ajax than Swansea says something for us.

Hes going to play in midfield so we have Bazoer, Gudelj ,Klaassen,Sinkgraven ,Schone ,Serero, Riedewald(looked on as a DM not CD) and v d Beek .Thats 9 and of course Nouri and deJong are good enough.

In defence we are left with Veltman,Sanchez ,Viegever Dijks with Tete and Westermann as cover . Viegever Dijks are not good enough and Westermann's signing a joke.Bosz doesn't want Tete as he cannot attack so his days here are numbered.

Up front El Ghazi and Younes are the only wingers both inconsistent and not good enough with 3 kids as strikers Traore Dolberg Cassierra

We need a quality winger ,experienced striker ,cover at left back and if Riedewald is going to be DM another left sided CD

Ziyech is a quality player ,the best in the league last season but its a panic signing by us and had we got through to CL groups we would not have signed him.

We now face selling Bazoer ,who is out of form,but only 19 and still a hugh talent.What happens to Nouri ,who is the biggest talent in the club.

I do rate Ziyech but its a panic signing and overall our signings policy is a shambles.

9 is a lot, but if Bazoer leaves the number of midfielders starts to look less crazy.

Schöne and Serero have both served us well but they're not going to get in the starting 11 so will probably leave.

Sinkgraven has been here for over a year and probably isn't good enough.

vd Beek I'm not sure about yet, but I was deeply unimpressed by his performance against Willem II.

That leaves Klaassen, Gudelj (less said the better), Riedewald as our only DM and now Ziyech, with hopefully Nouri, vd Beek and/or de Jong breaking through this season.

Tete is injured, isn't he? Wonder if Veltman will be preferred once Tete recovers. Dijks + Viergever for LB is worrying, though.

As for wingers I wish Bosz would forget about el Ghazi and Younes and play with two strikers and an extra midfielder.

Veltman is not fast enough to play fullback. I know Tete is unpolished going forward but in large part that's because of the tactics from last year which sent everything up the left side of the formation. he is still a destroyer on defense and nobody beat him at all last season. So we get rid of van Rhijn and now Tete so Veltman can play full back? If that was the plan all along they should have kept van Hoorn rather than paying big bucks for Sanchez. de Ligt is a year or two away from starting anyway.

I hope the Ziyech transfer works OK and maybe Nouri gets loaned out next season so he gets first team football that he won't at Ajax. I'm rapidly losing faith with the entire management team.

I haven't seen a lot of Ziyech, but based on what I've gathered, I see hope in this midfield.

1. Riedewald HAS to keep playing #6 with maybe De Jong as backup
2. Ziyech as one of the AMs with Nouri as backup
3. Klaassen as the other AM with Bazoer/Van De Beek as backups
4. One or two out of Klaassen/Gudelj/Bazoer need to be sold. They are all box-to-box MFs vying for 1 spot now with Van De Beek behind them.
5. Schone & Serrero have to be sold.

Completely forgot about Sinkgraven. Needs to get added to the sell list or maybe we keep him for another year as cover for LW until Dekker gets ready to slot into the sub role.

If Ajax sel Sinkgraven, Bazoer, Schone, I wish there was a chance we can squeeze in Vurnon Anita! I know a lot of you think that the chances of that is remote.
