Re: Former Ajax Players
In yesterdays U19 game the Cd was Pablo Rosario of Almere. I see we released him 2 years ago and now PSV are signing him. He looked ok and defended a bit better than Zeefuik but we have a 16 year old CD de Ligt ,who I would say is much better .
Re: Former Ajax Players
Nicolas Lodeiro has moved to the US from Boca Juniors and will play for the Seattle Sounders. He was always hurt while he played at Ajax but he did play significant minutes for the Uruguay NT.

Re: Former Ajax Players
And this is how fat Ismaïl Aissati looks these days.

Good timing to sign a contract in Turkey, by the way.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Timothy Fosu-Mensah is not in Mourinho's plans at ManU and has been relegated to the reserves. No word on whether he will leave or not. This again points out the folly of young Dutch players going over to the EPL. the teams have so much money these days they can buy replacements rather than develop them within the youth system. Too bad for TFM as van Gaal though highly of him and he had some playing time last season. he would for sure be in the first team at Ajax this season.

Re: Former Ajax Players
It's official, Frank de Boer is the head coach of Inter, I wonder if the new owners have money to splash, if so who will Frank sign from Ajax? Veltman, El Ghazi are the few candidates I would assume.
Re: Former Ajax Players
Interesting move for de Boer. Inter have new Chinese owners who probably have a lot of money to splash for transfers. Not sure that we can afford to lose Veltman as that would probably move de Ligt in competition with Westermann for the starting position.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Klaassen wont go and certainly not to Italy and I doubt Inter want a goalie.El Ghazi did not seem that happy with FDB last season so if he does take anyone it would be Veltman.
Re: Former Ajax Players
Maybe now we can sell Gudelj to Inter for 15 million. Maybe someone with solid photoshop skills can photoshop Gudelj's picture into a Milan city background and send to some Italian newspaper?SPL schreef:Klaassen wont go and certainly not to Italy and I doubt Inter want a goalie.El Ghazi did not seem that happy with FDB last season so if he does take anyone it would be Veltman.
Re: Former Ajax Players
Agree,he can take Gudelj. Not sure Inter will be spending any money though. They have a chinese owner but so does ADO and he has not spent any money
Re: Former Ajax Players
PSV are looking for an attacking MF as van Ginkel won't be coming back on loan again. Rumor of the day is that our former captain, Siem de Jong may join his brother as he doesn't figure in Newcastle's plans this season.

Re: Former Ajax Players
I'm surprised they haven't signed Jonathan de Guzman. They were after him before They signed Marco can Ginkel.
Re: Former Ajax Players
Siem de Jong is going on loan to PSV .He has had lots of injuries at Newcastle so it will be interesting to see what he does with the lightbulbers. His parents are very happy with the brothers about to play together.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Boilesen signs for Copenhagen . Ouasim Bouy is being loaned to Palermo by Juve. He did not sent things alight last year in PEC Zwolle .Think this is his 4th loan after just over 4 years since leaving us for Juve's money .
Re: Former Ajax Players
Kolbein Sigthorrsson's French adventure didn't last long. He's off to Galatasary in Turkey.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Urby Emanuelson looks like joining Sheffield Weds. He was a free transfer from Italy.
Danny Bakker has joined Cambuur on a 2 year deal ,he is the last Jong Ajax player released this summer to get a new club.

Re: Former Ajax Players
The great Johan Neeskens is 65 today .vi.nl have a big article on him , I google translate that site so I get it in English.
No idea how I can print the article here but for you english speaking guys its easy to find . Very interesting and I learnt quite a bit about his life .
A good day to remember him as we are playing Panathinaikos today , memories of 1971

What is the link to that article?
Sam Hendriks scored this weekend the last goal for 'the go forward eagles' during AZ Alkmaar - Go Ahead Eagles. AZ was leading 2-0 but the final score was 2-2.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Saw a few minutes of Swansea v Liverpool and completely bemused that Mike v d Hoorn is playing in the EPL. Not good enough for Ajax but good enough for an EPL side. The EPL is loaded with money etc but there are still a few very ordinary Dutch players there.
Re: Former Ajax Players
van der Hoorn had a great chance to equalize in added time when he was moved up the pitch. Ball fell right at his feet but he scuffed it wide of the post.

Ryan Babel scored his first goal for La Coruna tonight. A '92 minute winner nontheless

Re: Former Ajax Players
Just saw where our old friend Nicolas Lodeiro scored a goal for Uruguay in their win over Venezuela. Not the first time that he's scored for Uruguay - funny how he was deemed not good enough to play for Ajax.
Re: Former Ajax Players
Come on, he is still just an average player. Now playing for Seattle Sounders btw.
"Hate it or love it, the underdog's on top".
Re: Former Ajax Players
IIRC, Suarez was the one who convinced management to purchase Lodeiro. He was out injured for a lot of the time he was at Ajax. Amazingly, he is still only 27 years old.
