Looking good for CL prem rounds when friendly games have been cancelled!!! So they are going to "talk their way" into a good performance against POAK at the Arena....hope it's better than actually playing together as the word "together" has not featured...

Bloody local government in Nieuwleusen cancelled both games because they fear riots with the fans. Really a shame for the local people there at the countryside in the east part of The Netherlands, they were looking forward to the Ajax visit very much, prepared a lot of activities for it and sold thousands of tickets.

Plus that both games would be broadcasted live on tv. Ziggo planned to broadcast them both. I wonder what happens with that.

Can Peter Bosz lead Ajax to the promised land while playing attacking football?

Well... the friendly against AA Gent Ajax did lose with 2-0.
My sources say that the other game scheduled for today will be moved to tomorrow, but there still is a chance that also the second one will be played later today.

Maybe Bosz is adopting the strategy of American football coach Bill Belicheck (New England Patriots). The routinely loose all their pre-season games (friendlies in Euro parlance) and then win the league with an outstanding record. At least I hope this is the approach.

What the hell is wrong with us?? We haven't won a single preseason game and that's not the major problem. From what I read, we haven't put a strong performance in yet

The other friendly match against Krylya Sovetov has also been lost.

I just saw the highlights of our loss against Gent. I see we continue to make the same silly passes between defenders and clever teams put the pressure up high. We make the mistake, they hit us on the counter, it brings back painful memories of Salzburg. Not saying that the Greek team is anything close to them. They had Igor Tudor as their manager until March I think? Then Ivic was promoted and he made the team more realistic.

So we had two different teams out today and they both lost. Neither were our strongest possible starting 11 though. Have to wonder what is our strongest 11 according to Bosz? What's the role of Westermann, the columbian duo, Cerny, Muric...

Two more frendlies left to build up confidence. A win and some goals would be nice. Hope after that Bosz has figured out the tactics and guys that can make a difference on the pitch or we can say bye bye to Europe.

I didn't have time to watch today.Off to Germany tomorrow Rudesheim on the Rhine for a week. I dont have a smart phone,only an ordinary mobile.I am taking a tablet ,so should see this site plus Ajax showtime. Cannot last 8 days without seeing what is going on.Will be back for PAOK on 26 th .

Regarding the friendlies, remember that Milik is still on holiday. His absence is a big one and unfortunately he will certainly miss the first PAOK match and maybe also the 2nd.

I just watched the highlights, I think there were something like 30 different players across the two friendlies so they're clearly being used as selection matches—I don't find the results that much of a worry. On the other hand, our defense will definitely need to perform better once the real matches start! Bad mistakes from Dijks and Veltman and the (albeit unlucky) OG from Riedewald

They are RIGHT NOW in The Netherlands. They've played FC Twente and won 0-2. Note: Ziyech didn't play: he has been linked with a transfer to Russia.

So don't worry about pre-season results guys.

Just to add to your positive outlook, I saw some clips of the new two colombians, and was impressed. Since Milik is absent for the first game, perhaps he wont be needed, if Casierra finishes off the chances he gets.

But they all have pop ups including one that forces you to go to task manager to close the browser as it says your computer is infected and gives you a fake Microsoft phone number to call. I assume they are trolling for credit card numbers.

Anyway, 1-0 at the half. Lineup: Cillessen; Dijks, Viergever, Veltman, Tete; Riedewald, van de Beek, Klassen; Casseria, Dohlberg, el Ghazi Who knows what will be the lineup for the CL game next week. Riedewald has done well as the DM. Tete going forward with vengeance and he controlled the ball and got it to el Ghazi for the cross to Casseria. Team had a couple of other chances. Passing is much better than last year by everyone; more intent to go forward. They are also pressing all over the field and took the ball away from Marseille player quite a bit. Marseille are missing four starters however.

Just tuned in to the Marseille game 10 minutes ago. This is my first pre-season game this season, but I'm liking what I'm seeing.

lackluster 2nd half. Viergever conceded a penalty that could have been called either way and Marseille converted. Ajax gave up a second goal on a distance shot when the man wasn't properly defended and I think Cillessen might have been screened. He probably could have done better. In the 85th minute el Ghazi again delivered a great cross to Cassiera who hit the crossbar but Dolberg was right there to head it in. Early in the 2nd half Cassiera missed a great chance on a ball in from el Ghazi and he really should have scored.

Sheraldo Becker was the only substitute coming in late for Dolberg. It will be interesting to see who is in the starting line up against PAOK.

Team is really physical this year. I think Ajax were called for 16-17 fouls as they really pressed all over the field.
