I would go a step further, second place is going to be in danger at this rate. But there doesnt seem to be much noise for the calling of Frank de Boer to go, neither from the fans or the board.

FDB just piss off and take Overmars with you We are playing as badly as when Jol got sacked.100m in the bank and we wont spend any of it.
Today I have finally written off the season we will not be champions but should hold on to 2nd

Oh dear, things go from bad to worse. Just when I thought Riedewald was having a decent match he totally loses his man who of course has a free header and Roda get a well deserved draw. Catenaccio fails once again despite Ajax having a 2-0 lead midway through the first half from a decent goal off a corner and a Roda mistake. For the match Ajax have 6 shots, 3 of them on goal. With offensive performances such as this one the club will be lucky to snatch a point in future matches.
Player & Manager Ratings
FdB (-1) - does he even watch film of previous matches? Does he know how poor the midfield is? Does he think Milik is a right winger?
Cillessen (6) - let down by his defense
Dijks (6) - only positive player on the pitch
Riedewald (4) - gave him the benefit of the doubt on the first goal but the 2nd goal was just terrible marking
Veltman (5.5) - seemed to contain things on his side
van Rhijn (4.5) - if you cannot play defense just go forward at every opportunity to try to create something; your teammates certainly cannot
Gudelj (5) - a couple of good free kicks and that was his afternoon
€25 man (3.5) - can he really be worth this much? Would Barcelona even pay €1M for him? On the basis of this match he should be sitting and giving van de Beek an opportunity, Frenkie de Jong is probably playing better right now
Sinkgraven (5.5) - the only midfielder who seems to know how to move into space but he's limited by having no right foot
Younes (4) - if you cannot beat one man what makes you think you can beat 2?
el Ghazi (5) - moving into #9 is a consignment to hell, you won't get any service from your teammates and your midfielders will play the ball back at the first opportunity; nice job capitalizing on the Roda turnover
Milik (5) - nice header and did what he could out on the right side
Klaassen (3.5) - dangerous challenge and a deserved Yellow card was the highlight of a rather worthless performance
Fischer (5) - tracked back well on defense and saw little of the ball otherwise
Serero (NR) - can't evaluate anyone who has only a touch or two of the ball in the waning moments
If the Ajax Board had any cajones at all they would give FdB his walking papers and bring in Wim Jonk. Maybe Ajax hold off Feyenoord for second but they certainly do not deserve to be rated as anything more than a lifeless club that has no clue how to play football.
FdB MUST GO!

Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: 31 JAN 2016 Roda - Ajax Match Day 21
It's because the midfielders just stand around all match long twiddling their thumbs. Sinkgraven was the only player to move into space. His limitation is that he is 99% left footed though he seems to be able to compensate. Gudlej just stands at the halfway line and does nothing except watch what goes on. Bazoer is a spectator except when the ball suddenly comes to him at which point he tries to score a goal. Klaassen is Siem de Jong 2.0.Tom_ schreef:@Orange it's like we don't have a midfield. The ball goes from defense direct to the wing every time. Have to try to get the ball into the middle, but there has been no attempt to do that.
Until Nouri, Frenkie de Jong, and van de Beek come into the squad I expect more of the same. these guys have some special talents at the youth level and if they are given the right manager can make things happen.

Agree every word of Orange ,just looked at the Dutch site ,they are all the same.
Hope Friday's Jong game has a stream and de Jong Nouri and Cerny play , just want to see 3 real creative talents wearing an Ajax shirt.
I have always maintained we need an experienced Cd or maybe DM .I would play V d Hoorn v Fword and not v Rhijn.

deJong,Nouri and v dBeek with Cerny on the wing could not do worse. We have no effective midfield and may as well play these 18 year olds with Bazoer. We have nothing to lose we wont be champs so play some kids who really have creative talent and have Jonk in charge
Re: 31 JAN 2016 Roda - Ajax Match Day 21
Precisely, but we have Klaassen, Bazoer, Gudelj, Sinkgraven, Schöne, Serero. Our midfield is strictly defending minded. Probably because of FdB's strategy. That's the reason why we can't score many goals.Tom_ schreef:@Orange it's like we don't have a midfield. The ball goes from defense direct to the wing every time. Appie, stay strong !

The last time we let in an injury time goal that cost us points was in December 2007. Still dreadful defending from a side that has let few goals in.

Well, hard to get happy after letting in that late goal. Can't really fault our strikers as both Ajax goals came from them.
Hard to imagine why deBoar put in van Rhijn when Veltman looked to be filling in okay at RB and especially when vd Hoorn was doing very good at CB. Dijks continues to shine.
Well, Ajax have their work cut out for them now....
