Re: The Helmond Cup
Does anyone still follows the cup? It is back in the PL. The site isn't up-to-date anymore, but the twitter account is alive: https://twitter.com/helmondcup

Re: The Helmond Cup
Wow, I'd completely forgotten about the Helmond Cup!
Thanks for reminding us.

Yes, the best place for information is the Twitter feed. I don't think they maintain the website much any longer.

Re: The Helmond Cup
It's now in Greece!!! Souras should be proud as Olympiakos took it out of England when they beat Arsenal in CL football.

As much as I hate Olympiakos, it's always fun being in possession of the Cup!! You guys are lucky they didn't lose to Platanias, cause then it would be stuck over here for more than the crisis... Anyway, this team won't be losing anytime soon, so I predict Bayern Munich will take it back next month
May the Force be with you
Re: The Helmond Cup
Time to dust off this topic again.
There is only one reason to cheer for Feyenoord tonight.. They can bring back the cup to it's home ground if they win from current holders Manchester City. And if they loose from PSV this Sunday it can stay in the Netherlands for a while.

Re: The Helmond Cup
Haha, bestaat dit nog steeds? Leuk!
Ik ga er dan toch voor dat de club van de broertjes Gallagher 'm nog even in bezit weet te houden.
EDIT
Ah, it's in the English section.
-> Nice to see it stil exists!
I hope that the club of the Gallagher brothers will retain the Helmond Cup. Not because I like City but I don't want to see the cup to travel to Rotterdam. Although that might just give the opportunity to win it with Ajax.

Re: The Helmond Cup
The Cup safely remains in English hands as van Bronkhorsts opted for a formation the club had never played and got blown away 0-4. They would have been better off sticking with the 4-3-3 and starting Toornstra who is one of their better players and benching Kramer who is nothing more than a big oaf.

Re: The Helmond Cup
IT'S BACK HOME!!!! After being gone from The Netherlands in 2009, Ajax recaptured the Helmond Cup with the 2-0 win last evening. Let's hope it stays in Amsterdam for a good while.

Yep very nice that this thing once invented by some Helmond Sport supporters is now ours!! Let's hope we'll keep this one for about 10 or 12 weeks or even longer!Orange14 schreef:IT'S BACK HOME!!!! Re: The Helmond Cup
There is a chance that we might be playing for the Helmond Cup next week. Juventus brought it back to Italy when they beat Athetico Madrid in the CL but then lost it to Genoa who lost it to Udinese. Udinese play AC Milan today and if Milan win they put the Cup on the line against Juve on Saturday!!
UPDATE: Udinese and milan play to a 1-1 draw so any hopes of Ajax taking the cup back are on hold for the moment.

Damn...that would have been something. Winning the national title, the cup, the Champions League and The Helmond Cup in one season.
