definitely a foul by Kuyt when they scored. anyway, we should have scored earlier... I am more interested in winning next time in rotterdam for the league

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
Well I was predicting 30 mins ET no goals , those dirty non footballing cheats getting one of our players a red card and beating us on pens.Horrible way to lose with the cheating dirty Kuyt pulling Veltman down. With that crowd, at times it looked and sounded like one of Hitler's rallies and a a very lenient ref it was always going to be tough.
Hope next week we come back with a full squad and stuff them.

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
Classic Klassieker I would say. Plenty of handbags etc., Feyenoord cheating away and winning in the end off a goal that shouldn't have counted. Well I enjoyed myself up till the last 10 seconds...
Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
There is a reason for the bad blood between these two teams. Tonight's match just adds more to that history.

What a nightmare. Disgracefull stuff. Not giving the ball back and wrestling Veltman to the ground. Never saw it on replay, but it really seemed like a soft contact where Fword got the free kick that led to the goal.

"We're on a mission from God."
Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
I'd say it *was* a foul but the ref definitely let some worse ones go. Tete played a great game but he really didn't need to grab Elia in that situation (easy to say in hindsight).
For once I agree with FdB, who is on TV saying it was our own fault for giving the ball away too much on the counters.
Ah well, it was a real "sometimes the bear eats you" kinda night...

Defence and midfield no problems ,although Serero is still crap imo, our attack was far too weak. El Ghazi and Milik will be fit for next week but we could do with a Pantelic type of tough experienced striker.

As a staunch supporter of Ajax Amsterdam, I have to give credit to Feyenoord. They did really well. Ajax didn't do too badly except for the final third. Lets keep it positive everyone

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
I had a bad stream that I could not enlarge and had some dropouts along the way. Vermeer saved the match for them, Mulder would have conceded at least one goal in the first half.Cruijff schreef:SHIT!!!!!

I thought we played a much more positive game. We pretty much defended very well. Van der Hoorn was much better in the, second half. It was just gut wrenching to lose this way.

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
The referee was terrible and biased. He should be banned by the KNVB.souras84 schreef:definitely a foul by Kuyt when they scored. anyway, we should have scored earlier... I am more interested in winning next time in rotterdam for the league

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
In the past, there have been decisions going for either side. Remember that infamous dive my Nikos Machlas? It wasn't a penalty but won Ajax the game. The following year, it was a dubious penalty in reverse, and feyenoord won. So yesterday, Ajax had a wrong decision which cost them the game, and in the future their fortunes will reverse in another Klassikier game. Lets put this one behind us.

It's not one decision, but many, especially in the second half.Ayman schreef:In the past, there have been decisions going for either side. Remember that infamous dive my Nikos Machlas? BTW, feyenoord could not manage to shoot at our goals even once in the whole game ...

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
Shit happens, Van Boekel is known to be a poor referee.
Positive first half, poor second half, although we looked pretty solid on the defense.
Wasn't impressed by Feyenoord to say the least, so it should be possible to get a good result in 2 weeks.

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
IMO, Rotterdam is one of the most difficult away matches in all of Europe. The supporters make so much noise and match officials are intimidated. van Boekel did not have a very good game with the whistle. He let a lot of rough play go on early and that set the tone for the match. Bazoer got mauled by Vilhena twice without a card being issued. The last second goal was just a rotten way to lose a match considering Ajax had the overall better play. HOWEVER, if you cannot finish your chances you don't deserve to win the game. Until the scoring problem is solved, Ajax will continue to suffer in matches such as this one. I will give FdB some credit for freeing up the team to be more attacking and we certainly saw way less back passing last night.

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
Well, that might be true, but Van Boekel is a poor referee no matter the venue. Incomprehensible decision by the KNVB to 'give' him this match, but that's something you'll have to deal with (and ultimately doesn't cost you the match, that's our own inability to convert chances).
Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
Ref was very poor all game but as Orange has said above it is a very intimidating place .We will play far better sides but doubt we will play at a much tougher venue. You could almost feel the fans hatred for us just sitting watching at home on a computer. Overall I though Fword quite poor but we have no striker and cannot score goals in the big games, ie in Europe plus PSV and now Fword where we have struggled.
Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
Hmm guys like Van der Vaart and Sneijder were, even already at the age of 18, never intimidated by that crowd. You should enjoy the hate and celebrate even harder when scoring a goal in de Kuip.SPL schreef:Ref was very poor all game but as Orange has said above it is a very intimidating place .We will play far better sides but doubt we will play at a much tougher venue. You could almost feel the fans hatred for us just sitting watching at home on a computer.
But it is still a pity you don't have a strong block of away fans that makes a lot of noise and where you can celebrate your goals with.
Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
I agree with Cruijff, you need to buckle up and really come out to win when you travel to Rotterdam. We don't quite have the mentality to do this yet. Only tough players we have are Tete, Bazoer, Gudelj (who has his own problems) and el Ghazi.
At least we are in good company with the English teams that lost their cup matches this week: Chelsea, ManU and Arsenal!!

Good points by Cruijff and Orange. Tete and Bazoer are clearly mentally up for games like this. Bazoer got injured by Vilhena limped for a minute or 2 shrugged it off and carried on , showed this kid was up for it .

I hope I'm not proven right, but I think Bazoer will carry an injury for a few weeks. The way he twisted his knee and continued playing reminded me of other occasions when players suffered ligament injuries.
Otherwise, it's one of the few times we lose a game and we don't complain about the way we performed. We were actually happy about our performance. Sans the finishing part of it...

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
Yes, I was thinking today that sone of our winning performances in the eredivisie have been much worse than the game last night.
We also have to give the ref at least a bit of a break. I had no idea how the ball had ended up in the net, let alone that Veltman was fouled, until about the third replay...

Re: 28 OCT Feyenoord - Ajax Dutch Cup
Those kinds of fouls are hard to see from where the ref was stationed because of the free kick. They also tolerate a lot of grabbing inside the box. I think we are all bitter because of the way the match ended and had it been an Ajax goal we would all be wearing the shoes on the other feet.Tom_ schreef: We also have to give the ref at least a bit of a break.
