Disappointing loss in Turkey and now back to the league competition with a trip to Vitesse. This team needs to score goals!

Bad news to start the day ,El Ghazi is ill and has pulled out . Jong Ajax striker Sam Hendriks is in the squad.Looks like Fischer Younes and Schone as front 3. This was going to be a tough game but even tougher now without El Ghazi.

Sinkgraven has passed the ball backwards, twice already!!! In both occasions he had a clear path towards either crossing or passing next to him... Oh, and concerning Bazoer. He is either "slow" or super selfish. He always slows down our counter by dribbling and not passing

I almost forgot. Where the hell is Klaassen playing??? He is invisible...

The first 25 minutes were absolutely dreadful. Looked like a mid table English Championship team with aimless long balls upfield that were easily defended. Klaassen was running around with no purpose at all other than to leave very big gaps in the midfield that opened things up for Vitesse. Younes had some nice plays and Bazoer did well. Gudelj took a really dumb Yellow card at 51 seconds and is doing poorly. Cillessen had some nice saves to keep things level. I'm optimistic that we will come out with a 0-0 draw as I don't see any goals from the Ajax side (hope to be proven wrong).

I am watching ,but I cannot log in on my lap top and as my main computer is in a different room I wont be able to make many comments( I dont have a mobile seriously)

A boring game but we came back in it a little towards the end. How are we going to score no idea.I will take a draw.

How Bazoer failed to score after Younes set him up 2 meters out is beyond me.

Well, well, well... Bazoer makes up for his first half miss with a really determined effort to make the team's second goal. Well done.

Amazing -- 60 minutes of mediocrity, and then 3 really nice goals.

Just come down from cloud 9. 30 great minutes of football,Bazoer a beast of a player.PSV will curse in a couple of years when we get about 30 to 40 m for him.Hendriks cross to Schone was superb. He may not make it but Sanogo should be sent back to Arsenal in the morning. Whats the point of keeping this lame carthorse on loan when we have a kid who is no worse and almost certainly better.

Our defence was fairly sound other than the sloppy goal conceded .

A great comeback by our lads.I feel alot more cheerful now

The forced substitution of Klaassen was a blessing in disguise. Much better performance in the second half.

Three nice goals to beat the Chelsea B team 1-3. After a lackluster first half and conceding a goal because of poor defending and a chance deflection Ajax took the bit between their teeth and came on to dominate the last 25 minutes of the match. I don't wish any ill to Davy Klaassen but he needs to sit out some matches now in favor of a more dynamic midfield. Bazoer and Sinkgraven both have football instincts that our captain clearly lacks. The experiment with a #10 is now dead and finished. Time to move on.

Player Ratings:

Cillessen (7) - had to do way too much kicking but kept the ball out of the net in the first half
Dijks (6.5) - decent enough game defending but did little on offense compared to past matches
Riedewald (7) - had a good game and kept his head cleaning up some dangerous situations
Veltman (6.5) - missed his marker and should have had a couple of more interventions to clean up danger; did well to break free on the corner that led to the first goal
Tete (6) - continues to do well but did concede some space that resulted in clean shots on goal
Gudelj (5.5) - awful in the first half taking a silly foul within the first half but screwed his head on and played well in the second half
Bazoer (7.5) - half point off for being a little too long on the ball in the first half but overall a monster game
Klaassen (4) - silly tactics had our captain pressing too far up field in the first half and was a total non-factor in the first half before being subbed off
Younes (6.5) - very active and had two nice runs to create scoring opportunities, only problem is he absolutely does not track back on defense at all
Fischer (6) - did put in the rebound for the first goal but was alone up front for long stretches without getting the ball in space, not necessarily his problem just the tactics of the formation
Sinkgraven (5.5) - too predictable on the right wing and he certainly is no Arjen Robben who can cut inside on his left foot; much better in the 2nd half when he moved to the midfield; should start midweek in the Cup tie against Feyenoord
Schöne (7) - very good coming on as a sub, free kicks were wondrous as always and his ball possession was first rate; kept focused on the Hendricks cross to slot home the clincher
Hendricks (6.5) - almost had the goal on his first touch and held up his run just right on the third goal, what a well delivered cross to Schöne
van der Hoorn (5.5) - had a couple of good defensive plays coming on late when Ajax moved to a five man back line

Big cup tie against rivals Feyenoord in Rotterdam mid week. Who will be healthy enough to play?

Sinkgraven did look alot better when in midfield,he should not be used as a wide man.

Felt like Vitesse were dominating, although in truth they also didn't create 100s of open chances. Thought we were down and out at 1–0 but after that ping-pong equaliser I was pleasantly surprised that we closed out the game without a lot of trouble.

Nice 25/30 mins of football and good to have an entertaining match for a change.
