Having posted he needs a rest I see El Ghazi has come home and wont play anymore in the Toulon Tournament as there is some family problem. Hope its not too serious but I quess he can now rest.

Ints in the next week so Cillessen Veltman, Gudelj Boilesen Siggy,Schone and Milik will likely be playing.I quess they have had a short break but after the Ints its only 2 weeks before pre season starts.

U21 Euros start mid June ,no Holland,but Fischer has been picked for Denmark ,but not Andersen. This is good news for Fischer as he needs playing time after his long break.

I was busy and did not get round to watching the game but Dutch lost 4-0 so out the tournament.El Ghazi was missing and Warmerdam ,the only Ajax lad came on as sub.

At 3-1 with dear old KJH scoring 2 it looked good but how can you lose 4-3 at home ! Oranje need some defenders.V D Wiel de Vrijs ,Vlaar and Willems are the probably back 4 v Latvia ,a must win game.

Interesting stats .KJH has now scored 41 goals in 4034 mins ,V Persie 49 in 7082.

The Illustrated Man (aka van der Wiel) had one of the best crosses that I've ever seen that led to a goal. Unfortunately, he then decided not to play the rest of the match preferring to revel in the glory of that one cross. Poor Cillessen he must have pined for the Ajax defense last night who are infinitely better than what Hiddink sent out. I fail to understand why Bruma is preferred to Veltman; Bruma was poor for PSV this season and he was caught out of position so often that it became tiresome to watch. Oranje midfield was exceptionally poor as well, I don't think I saw one defensive take away. Blind was totally gassed by the 80th minute; I think because it was warm and very humid with the roof of the Arena closed. Let's see if they can rebound and defeat mighty Latvia.

Hiddink plays Jeffrey Bruma instead of Joel Veltman because obviously he favours PSV players.

Well Veltman has been sent home as he is not wanted on Friday . He has to be better than Bruma but he plays for Ajax not PSV. At least he can now go on holiday .

Watched the 2nd half ,once the first goal went in great relief. I laughed that V Persie was taken off and our old
hero KJH stayed on.Qualifying will still be tough.

Siggy scored for Iceland,hope some club decides to buy him.

U19 euros start tomorrow and Dutch play Russia and all games are on Eurosport . ko tomorrow is 17.30 CET ,game is on in Uk.

Due to several of our 18 and 19 year olds being in the first team only 4 Ajax are playing , defenders Sanniez ,Owusu ,Mirani plus midfielder Nouri . I will probably watch tomorrow just to see Nouri ,he is highly rated and the odd times I have seen him there is a touch of class about him.
Shame that Bazoer,Riedewald,v d Beek,Zivkovic are not playing.Several other players are missing due to being in their clubs first teams for pre season.

Dutch U19 beat Russia 1-0, I watched the game in full but none of the 4 Ajax lads over impressed. Nouri had a quiet game and of the 3 playing at the back Owusu looked ok at right back before going off injured.Sanniez playing at CB instead of normal full back was caught a couple of times.Mirani also CB looked ok.

Ould-Chikh the Twente winger who is joining Benfica impressed the most,but given the amount of eredivisie time played not surprising.He set up the only goal before Ht with a free kick that went right into the box where the very tall Heerenveen striker v Amersfoort out jumped everyone and headed in.

Germany and Spain to play and only the top 2 make the semis.

Watching this game but keeping an eye on Ajax . This game is 0-0 at Ht .Mirani quiet but Sanniez having a good game .Nouri is more into this game as well.

Dutch lost 1-0, goal 5 mins from time, blame down to poor defending by our Mirani,left them on side, didn't pick up the spare player and the shot went through his legs,basically rubbish defending. All 4 teams are level on 3 points Dutch play Spain on Monday.

U19 now playing Spain ,its on Eurosport.Just turned on and after 7 mins Mirani turned the ball into his own net .Owusu Sanniez and Nouri all playing .Dutch need to win this to get to the semis

Ended up 1-1 draw as van Amersfoort won a penalty in the 2nd half and converted the PK. I only saw the 2nd half and it was clear that in the last 15 minutes Spain were playing for the draw which would send them through. Our U-19s will head home now and other than Lartey the Ajax players all under performed.

Finished 1-1 and Dutch are out.V Amersfoort scored a penalty but that was not enough.Sanniez was the most impressive of our 3 defenders both in this game and the others.Nouri,for all the hype ,had a very quiet tournament.

Cillessen, Riedewald, Veltman, Tete, and Klaassen named to the provisional Oranje squad for the Iceland and Turkey games coming up.

Not sure anyone from outside Holland should mention this weekend.Chances of finishing 3rd and getting a play off are not hopeful.Wouldn't say it was the easiest group but losing at home to Iceland,what can one say.

Seeing Riedewald ,aged 18 playing smacks of desperation a bit.At least he Tete,Bazoer and El Ghazi wont be in the shop window next summer in the finals.

Don't want to get into the unmitigated disaster that is Oranje right now, but there was a funny twitter exchange between the Belgian and Dutch FAsthat that went something like this...

Belgian FA: "Listen, we're planning to spend a few weeks in France next summer, and since you haven't planned anything yet could you keep an eye on the house, water the plants and feed the cat?"

Dutch FA: "Of course, no problem after you did the same for us four years ago. That's what neighbours are for."

I watched both matches and it was an unmitigated disaster. The attacking ability of this current NT is close to zero and they are defensively flawed. What was Blind the Elder thinking in starting van der Wiel at RB as he has not played a competitive match in about seven months. Tete may be raw but he can defend and surely would not have conceded the penalty that won the match for Iceland. Cillessen probably should have saved the second Turkey goal but it wouldn't have mattered for a team that cannot score.

The failures of the NT are a symptom of the failures at the club level of all those Eredivisie teams that cannot win matches in either CL or EL competition. Despite having a lot of good young players coming up, most of the managers at the big clubs are tactically naive.

I could go on and on but it's not worth it right now. It's just a shame that Sneijder, Robben, and van Persie will see their international careers end on a bitter note.

Exactly! Not out to defend Hiddink but it's not a big surprise that the NT is weak when the eredivisie is also very weak just now.
