I quess Oranje fans were a bit disappointed with the 2-2 draw v Japan. Nice to see 3 Ajax in the side ie Cillessen,Blind and de Jong.Bit surprised to see Siem in the attack ,cannot really see him in the squad for Brazil .

The other Oranje game today was U18 drawing 0-0 v Turkey with just Sanniez , a 2nd half sub, from Ajax.The other 5 all being rested with one final game to play on Monday

Siem de Jong was really quite poor in the match against Japan. I think he had maybe two touches of the ball and that was about it. Blind split the game moving to holding midfield after Nigel de Jong went off early in the second half. Did OK at full back but had little help when in the midfield. Cillessen was just average, didn't have a chance on either goal as they were the result of defensive errors. I hope Veltman gets the start against Columbia. de Vrij (Feyenoord) was really terrible, totally lost his man on the first Japan goal.

Actually went to the game because it was close to where I live and tickets started at on 15€.
Team completely fell apart in the second half when Nigel de Jong came off and Blind moved up into midfield. After the break Holland constructed almost nothing from the back. Cillessen started hoofing the ball after a while. Siem put in a standard performance for him which frankly is not of international level despite his hard work.

A bad day for Dutch U 19 's as they lost 2-1 to Georgia and with Wales having a better goal difference Holland finish 3rd in the group and are out the 2014 Euros at the initial qualifying stage ,there is still another qualifying round to come !!

Riedewald,Bazoer both started and Acolatse came on as a sub

The U18's drew 0-0 with Czech Rep and finished 3rd in the 4 nation friendly tournement. V Bruggen,Mirani and Clement started and Owusu came on as a sub.

Good experience for the U18's but the U19's wont be at all happy with their performances and finishing behind Georgia and Wales,both minnows as football nations.

Great to see 4 Ajax in the Dutch side ,it will be a tough game.

At levels from U18 to full Dutch they have played 9 Ints this last week all with Ajax players and the only win is U19's 3-0 over Moldova . A very poor week all round for Oranje. Lets hope the seniors can win tonight.

de Jong is out injured as he slipped in the box going after a ball. Don't know how serious it is. Van der Vaart was chopped down on a really bad tackle that should have been a Red card but wasn't.

Cillessen, Blind, van der Wiel, and Veltman all had huge matches for the NT. Columbia tried to go over the top to beat the high defensive line and Cillessen knew exactly when to come out and how strong. Veltman is likely to be the NT starter next summer in Brazil; he's much better than de Vrij.

U17 playing a 4 nation tournement in Portugal have V Bladderen Goalie and V Zweeden FB from our B1 team plus contracted lads Nouri and V d Beek ,both now playing as regulars in our A1 U19 ,even though they are still 16. Walian who has also broken into the A1 team surprisingly does not make this squad.

I show U17 as this level includes contracted lads and U17 Euro champs always get shown on Tv plus Ajax U17 tournement at Easter will be on Eurosport.

Attention turns to Oranje this week and apart from 4 in the senior team we have 4 in U21's V d Hart, Denswil V d Hoorn and de Sa.

Even more in U19 game with Riedewald, Tete,V d Boomen,Acolatse,Becker and Kishna . Bazoer dropped out with injury and potential new signing Zivkovic is included.

Just to comment on U17's. The Dutch U17's played a 4 nation tournament in Portugal over the last few days and did badly with 2-0 defeat by England ,4-1 defeat by Germany and a2-2 draw with Portugal but V Bladeren,V Zweeden from our B1 U17 team played along with A1 players V d Beek and Nouri.

I only follow down to U17 level but must add about the Dutch U16's as they included 7 Ajax kids.They too played a 4 nation tournament in Portugal with defeats by Germany 2-0 and Portugal 1-0 but beat Norway1-0. Ajax names for the future
Dilrosun, Eiting, Sidoel, Koks,Matuswa,Peeters and Mensah .(They are born in 1998 and have played in our B1 U17 team ie the other kids in the Ajax B1 born 1997.)

Pleased to see Klaassen made his debut in last nights defeat v France. He got about 20 mins. Cillessen played the whole game and Blind played a half.

The U21's lost 1-0 v Israel V d Hart played a half and more importantly Kishna played the 2nd half and was the one bright spot in the team ,from a report I saw. They are even talking about him being promoted to the full Oranje team ,which is stupid as he has only just started with our first team.

The U19's beat Spain 2-1 with Branco van den Boomen scoring and potential new signing Zivkovic the other.Other than V d Boomen who was a sub we had Tete,Riedewald,Becker and Acolatse all starters.

Oranje U17 playing 2014 Euro Champs elite qualifying group at present with winners of the group only to qualify for the finals which are always on Eurosport

Oranje have beaten Austria 2-1 and Sweden 2-0 and play France on Tuesday,they too have beaten the other 2 and have a
better GD so Oranje need to win.

In both games V d Beek played all the match and Nouri came on as sub. 2 other Ajax in the squad V Bladeren and V Zweeden have not played .

The Oranje capt Keziah Veendorp a CD from Groningen is interesting Ajax.He is not contracted so wont cost us much .

Pleased to say Oranje U17 beat France and qualify for the Euro finals this summer. Donny v d Beek played all the game and scored the first goal.No other Ajax player used.

You can blame google translate as there are 2 sites where youth and all Ajax football is discussed and reported. I do follow our U17 and U19 teams ie our A1 and B1 youth teams .I quess this must be because youth is so important to this club and when I mention my love of Ajax other fans always mention our youth.

The U17 euro Champs are in May and will be on Eurosport. At Easter the Aegon U17 cup held at deToekomst will be on Eurosport and this will give some of us a chance to see our own U17 players.

Only 2 Ajax likely to play , V d Beek in defensive midfield and little Nouri,who is wearing No 14! he is an attacking midfielder.Both have played in ever game. Savastano a left back played just once in the dead rubber group game.

They beat Turkey,Malta and England although that was dead rubber game and England rested their better players. In the semi's a 5-0 thrashing of Scotland.

Having fallen in love with Oranje in 1974 WC and being a fan of Ajax I have to admit that I will cheer on Oranje today and even in Brazil I will still cheer Oranje and not England.

In all other sports I am always for England but I have fallen out of love with english football and the national team. I am not sure any of you will understand me but when a big tournament comes along I really would not think of cheering anyone but Oranje .

Rinus Michels and Johan Cruyff have alot to answer for.

Was going to post the score about 3 hours ago but had great difficulty logging on.

Anyway Oranje U17 lost to England on penalties.It was 1-1 after normal time but thankfully there was no extra time just penalties and the Dutch missed 2 scored 1 and England scored all 4 pens.

V d Beek had a good game as defensive MF but he does go from box to box comfortably and a very strong well built lad. He is tall blond and looks like Klaassen's younger brother.Nouri had a quieter game but put through a lovely pass for the equaliser.He came off on the hour.

So the next Oranje is actually U21's playing 2x2015 Euro qualifiers next week.Hopefully there will be some Ajax players. Denswil, V d Hoorn, V d Hart ,de Sa and Zivkovic are in the initial squad with Klaassen dropping out with an injury.

well the U21 beat Scotland 6-1 last night in a 2015 Euro qualifier but non of the 4 Ajax in the sqaud got a game.

Jong Oranje beat Luxemburg 3-1 in a U21 2015 Euro qualifier last night and again no Ajax.

At the WC we will have just the 3 Dutch lads although I don't see Veltman playing much. Looks like Cillessen is No 1
goalie ahead of Krul and Vorm and Blind will be LB.

Well there are Ints at levels from u17 to 21 with Holland playing Italy and Czech Rep. We are well represented at all these levels, U19 and u21 are playing 2 Euro qualifiers each.

I will just give a brief on the youth games.So far the U18 lost a friendly to England yesterday by 4-1 with A1 youths
V Bladeren,goalie,Savastano, LB, plus midfielder Nouri.

Well a bad night for Holland with the seniors losing 2-0 to Italy with Cillessen and Veltman.It was worse as the U21's lost 1-0 to Georgia in a Euro qualifier with V d Hoorn and Ligeon playing.The U21's need only draw with Slovakia on Monday to qualify for the final qualifying round

Finally the U20's lost a friendly 1-0 to Czech Rep .Plenty of Ajax as Leeuwenbugh and Alblas each played a half in goal and Becker, Acolatse,Menig and Hendriks all forwards with Jong Ajax appearing. El Ghazi and Kishna were in the squad but appear to have dropped out with minor injuries. At least we have plenty of forwards aged 19 coming through.

The U19's play tonight ,with a few Ajax kids in the squad so hope they can win.
