Re: Ajax on Television (+ Webcasts, YouTube etc.)
Allow me to introduce you to Ronald Pieloor, first generation F-Sider (nickname: Chinees, 'The Chinese'), long-time F-Side representative in the Ajax board room, founder and editor of the late great De Ajax Ster (DAS) fanzine, co-author of the F-Side book (F-Side Is Niet Makkelijk, 'F-Side Ain't Easy') and now the first ever supporter to become an Ajax official. He's in the new board these days, but still very much a supporter: he's still on the South stand at the ArenA and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. He travels to most European away games as a 'normal' fan.
Anyway. That was the introduction.
Ronald always has his camera with him and he publishes his fantastic 'atmosphere videos' on YouTube. Look him up and subscribe: his username is 'rapie1960'. Here's his profile.
Don't have a YouTube account, but want to stay up-to-date anyway? Then follow him on his newly opened Twitter account, where he posts links to new videos.

Bloody amazing. I used to search for videos like these, but know it will be a lot easier to breath the Ajax sfeer.
Thanks once again, Ko!

Cheers Ko, great video, I really miss the ArenA, still get to football regularly, was at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday but it's just not the same, watching Ajax at home is just something really special.
I've got that F-Side book btw, nice to learn something about the author, perhaps I could persuade hum to do an English version
.
Great book though, even with my language dificulties, my mobile phone "home" screen for the last few years has been taken from it......

I actually worked on that. When the book came out these guys contacted me. I translated a few chapters and they took it to publishers in the U.K., but there was no serious interest: too specific, etc.SE6Ajacied schreef:perhaps I could persuade hum to do an English version![]()

Re: Ajax on Television (+ Webcasts, YouTube etc.)
I know I have posted 2 or 3times recently about problems with getting sopcast streams and that source appears to be temporary closed as no Dutch football has appeared on there
So ,to cut to the chase , I have been told firstrow.eu shows all games but I kept getting porn and adverts everywhere so today I have finally downloaded Google Chrome and added the advert block.I put firstrow on and tonights NEC ,ADO game came straight on no adverts so anyone else who watches through sopcast might want to download Google Chrome ready for Sunday . ( pity I did not do this before last weekends game when I was sitting here pulling my hair out for 15 mins until someone found a stream in english on Arab tv)
I should point out that I am not computer literate, you probably have all guessed, and if you all watch through Chrome my apologies but I am 61 !! and first watched football on something called a black and white TV !!!!!!!!!

Re: Ajax on Television (+ Webcasts, YouTube etc.)
Excellent, I'm glad you've found a working alternative. I wonder what happened to SopCast.
Re: Ajax on Television (+ Webcasts, YouTube etc.)
I imagine the owners of the copyright telecast have complained and asked that SopCast no longer pirate the feed. None of the Champions League matches were on SopCast either.Tom_ schreef:Excellent, I'm glad you've found a working alternative. I wonder what happened to SopCast.

Re: Ajax on Television (+ Webcasts, YouTube etc.)
I guess. I think SopCast is a bit like BitTorrent in that it's quite difficult to control. The "rights owners" can ask SopCast to take a stream down, but since SopCast don't host the stream (it's Peer-to-Peer) all they can do is block new connections. During the European Championships, you had to connect to your stream about an hour early and leave it running at all costs, because the link would be blocked about 2 minutes after kickoff and after that you wouldn't be able to get back on.
If I recall correctly it's been like that for the last few years for certain competitions—World Cup, Euros, and Champions' League. I guess eredivisielive have finally got after them too. I wonder if the crackdown is a result of Murdoch buying them?
And I'm not sure why I bothered typing that out, pretty boring stuff. Sorry guys, carry on... ;)

Re: Ajax on Television (+ Webcasts, YouTube etc.)
Back then all books were paper and ink thingies. Now that we have ebooks you don't need a publisher anymore. Time to try again?
Or do we have to kill the author and wait 70 years until the copyrights run out?

K.. Though "hooligan chic" has pretty much been done to death here in recent years, it's so mainstream (and done to death) now that even the supermarkets and Pound Shops are selling them.

Yeah, and that same night... Walking Dead season finale, and Game of Thrones season premier. Now I just have to figure out how to fill the intervening hours without being tricked into going to church.Blind3 schreef:Jim, Thank you for posting the TV schedule for this weekend .

Haven't been a fan of Game of Thrones in the past, but seeing cast members showing support for Sea Shepherd in Germany has led this horse to the water .

Attn US fans: ESPN3 schedule for Sunday includes:
4/07 11:30 AM EDT Ajax vs. Heracles Almelo
... but the game is three hours earlier than that. Maybe an error in the schedule? Or maybe they're showing it delayed?

Re: Ajax on Television (+ Webcasts, YouTube etc.)
The Ajax-Heracles game will be played at 16:30. And the next game (PSV-Ajax on 14 April) will also be scheduled at 16:30 in Eindhoven.
So you guys can watch Ajax on Sunday Morning instead of in the middle of the night!

About five years now and it's really helped strengthen my back (I rarely get back spasms these days!!!). I think I can go to an early class on the day of the PSV game.souras84 schreef:How long are you attending Yoga classes?Orange14 schreef: That's not good for me as I have Yoga at that time!!!

Re: Ajax on Television (+ Webcasts, YouTube etc.)
So, what can a football club do for a young child that has a chronic disease, spends most of his time in hospital and will never be better?
Players can autograph a jersey.
A quick meet and greet with the team?
Bag full of merchandise from the fanstore?
... Or they can really go out of their way and make a dream come true.
Watch this and try not to cry.
