Jong Ajax spare goalie last season Maurits Schmitz is signing another 1 year to June 2014. He will still be the spare as he shares Jong goalie duties with V d Hart ,Leeuwenburgh and even Cillessen as he can sit on the first team bench and play Juplier league in the same weekend.( Cillessen is wanted on loan by Roda but has indicated he will stay here and fight for the 1st team spot with Vermeer.)

We now have 74 contracted pros once Karlsson and Bay sign of whom about 20 will still play youth games.That leaves at present over 50 players for the 1st and 2nd teams which is about 10 too many so a few fringe players need to go.

This is beginning to look like an EPL team that wants to challenge for the Champions League!

2 Jong Ajax goalies signed contracts Maurits Schmitz who was with Jong last season has extended to 2014 and Norbert Alblas ,
from our youth of last season has signed to 2014 plus a 1 year option. We now have 6 contracted goalies for our 2 pro teams.

You can never have enough keepers. Remember a couple of years ago Vermeer tore his Achilles and then Steks injured his shoulder and we had to use Verhoeven for several matches (and he played quite well).

Ajax have offered Ricardo Kishna the 18 year old A1 youth forward a 3 year contract ,his current one runs out next June . As I have posted he is returning after over 2 years of serious knee injuries ie both knees ,and is starting to score goals and show his talent . His agent is talking with Ajax , trouble is its Raiola. Apart from Kishna the main youths to contract are Walian and Nouri .

Meanwhile its extending first teamers where the main interest will lie over the next weeks and with only Bojan and Poulsen having contracts running out next June Ajax are looking at those with contracts to 2015.

Ajax are talking with Denswil and his agent has today indicated there shouldn't be any problems. It would be nice to see such players extend for 5 years but given our maximum wage is 1m euros pa 3 year deals are the norm with extensions. . Denswil is likely to sign until 2017.

Others running out in 2015 are

Vermeer , de Jong and Moisander all likely to leave next summer so wont extend. Sana and Enoh ,should both go next month . V Rhijn, 3rd goalie V d Hart and even Serero will likely get new offers soon but Hoesen and Siggy are still proving themselves(Siggy is to keep fit )are likely to have to wait until the end of the season . Schone , a decent utility player also will likely wait as well as 1st teamers out on loan Lukoki and Dijks.

I wonder if there is a chance that Moisander can extend his contract, it depends on the season I guess, if Ajax go far in the CL/Europa league, and ofcourse win the eredivisie, then there is a great chance right? As for Siem de Jong? Does he have a choice? LOL Who would want to sign him? The only place I can see him going to is Monaco, as a striker.

Siem will be 25 at season's end and I see him seeking a new challenge ,possibly a mid table German side.Klaassen, after nearly a year out injured, is getting better every game and already looks a better MF than Siem. As for Moisander he is a decent player and doing a good job but next season our regular CD will be Veltman and Denswil and in fact both these will play more and more as this season goes on so Moisander will move on.

Regards the youths mentioned on the youth post earlier the OS confirms 2 of the 16 year olds have now officially signed contracts from July 2014 to 30 June 2017.They are midfielder Abdelhak Nouri rated the best talent of the lot, and winger Vince Gino Dekker.

The striker Ezra Walian is likely to sign shortly ,and Donny Van de Beek an attacking MF is also to sign shortly.

These are the best 16 year olds and it is great they are signing up. Hope for good news from Kishna ,the lad says he wants to stay with us!

Sounds like positive news about Kishna ,he is likely to sign until 2017. There was a meeting with him,his agent and father yesterday and a further meeting is to take place to hopefully finalise the contract.The lad has said he wants to stay with us.

Donny van de Beek a 16 year old midfielder has signed a 3 year contract from 1st July 2014 until June 2017.The remaining 16 year old we are waiting to sign is Ezra Walian .

Great that all 4x16 year old talents signed.As the contracts don't kick in until they are 17 they will be 20, and will all be a year out of the youths, by the time they run out . Ajax lost Bouy and looked like losing Kishna with both lads having 3 year contracts at 16 only covering their youth periods. By not giving youths contracts until they are 17 the players will be establised in Jong Ajax or 1st team squad by the time they need extending and hopefully will then sign further contracts .Well thats Cruyff's theory.(Cruyff was advocating not giving youths contracts until aged 18 about 30 years ago when he first coached us)

The B1 U17's have 3 x15 year olds ie they are all a year younger,regularly playing this season, Eiting DM, Sidoel CD and Dilrosun a winger. Under the new policy all 3 wont get contracts until June 2015 when they will be 17.

Rumours today that Man City want Kishna but then again its probably been made up by Raiola his agent to get more money out of Ajax.If the kid wants to take the money good luck just hope we don't take him to Turkey next week and then on his return he leaves ie like Bouy 2 years ago ,went to the winter training camp came home and joined Juventus.

Overmars should make one final offer and if it's not accepted, no training camp and cut him lose right now. BTW, Bouy did play in an Italian cup match for Juve in December. I think that was his first match ever.

Kishna is reported to be signing this week, so lets hope good news tomorrow. Yesterdays report said he had been offered to Juventus and today to Liverpool and Man City.Until its official I will not believe it with Raiola as agent.

At the end of December Kishna's father said he wanted to stay and wanted Ajax and Raiola to sort out the contract .Because of this and Kishna saying at the end of the Turkey training that there was just the i's to be dotted I have confidence he wants to stay.But since reports that he was signing last week its been quiet except he had been offered to Juve Liverpool and Man City.

Signing contracts do take a long time ,Denswil's agent said before Christmas that they were near to a deal but that was a month ago.

Well we can relax as Kishna has signed a new contract to June 2016 plus a 1 year option. So if he develops well in about a years time we have this contract talk all over again.

Should have added that the 1 year option is in favour of Ajax ie they can now extend without Kishna having to agree so in effect if by the summer of 2015 Kishna does not want to sign a new contract Ajax can automatically draw on the option and extend to 2017.

The main thing is that he has signed to stay and lets hope he stays injury free and develops into a regular first teamer.

Lots of talk since January of new contracts for first teamers but nobody has yet signed. However we have finally extended a contract, Norbert Alblas 19 year old Jong goalie and actually 4th choice for Jong has signed to 2015 . Ajax had a year option on him and extended it.

Still waiting for the likes of Denswil Veltman Klaassen to extend.
