as a PS V Velzen the big left winger who came on was one of those rarities a youngster we lost to an English club as a 16 year old. He joined Man U 3 years ago aged 16 never made it and is now back in Utrecht.

I have to say, i like Andersen so much more than de Sa. I hope soon he'll start instead of de Sa.

I rate the guy something about the lad ,not sure where he will end up position wise but he looks a good prospect and will get more and more playing time as the season goes on.

I missed today's game (girlfriend away for the day; I had the kids), but I really liked De Sa against Go Ahead Eagles...? No good today?
I didn't see anything, so all I can say is:
* Utrecht
* 12:30
* league game after a big CL game
That normally has 'fuck-up' written all over it, so I'm pleased with the result and the clean sheet.

The problem I had with Andersen was that he was too timid in the attack. I thought there were times when he could have taken a shot or tried to beat his defender, but he seemed too hesitant and looked around for someone to give the ball to, instead.

Solution...."go forward or you're dropped".....be severe!!! The youngsters have to learn......!!

Andersen is where Fischer was at this point last season. he hasn't had a lot of playing time and it's still not clear what his best position is; maybe he's an attacking midfielder. His field awareness will come with more playing time. Personally, I think we need three quick revolving players up front (this means not more Sigthorsson). I was hoping Bojan would get the chance to shine being moved into the middle but that's on hold right now.rjf1 schreef:The problem I had with Andersen was that he was too timid in the attack. Serero really showed how speed and quickness can change the shape of our midfield. Too bad Duarte was out today because he also has quickness. Poulsen is the choice for holding midfielder until another solution is found so we need quicker players at the other two positions so that we are not laboring to get the ball into the attacking zone. The team is going to continue to face defensive alignments just like Utrecht's as this is the best way to stop us. de Jong has to either move up to striker or sit on the bench. He doesn't do us any favors in the midfield; I'm also not sure whether Klaasen ever makes the grade, he looks like another de Jong sorry to say.

Good to hear we got a win with what doesn't sound like our strongest lineup. I'll watch the highlights in the week.

Wow! Fell asleep just after the 5th minute. I was at a wedding last night and woke up early for the F1 race. So, it was inevitable! Glad to see a clean sheet even if we played our typical bad first half

It's tricky with De Jong as he is the captain and FdB seems to have faith in him (don't know why). I don't think FdB will bench him easily, but yes, I don't think he should be automatically in the starting 11.
I really thought that Serero was a lost cause. Don't know what has happened to him, but I like it. I haven't seen him play with such spirit and confidence before. Hope he can keep this up.

from my comment on Sunday 14:40,
But, and it's a BIG but....Fischer never stops going forwards...he attacks with confidence...Andersen hasn't got the confidence to take players on! Fischer loses the ball a lot, but at least he's positive! Andersen needs to feed off Fischer....how often does Fischer pass the ball backwards?

Ian - I think we are in complete agreement here! Andersen just needs some more playing time to sort things out. Fischer wants to score goals and pushes in that direction. Unfortunately he's about the only one who does this right now.
