Thanks for the summary. To me the most disappointing player is Castillion. He was really touted during his youth days as a great striker and I think had some runs with the young Oranje NT. I guess he just couldn't make it at a higher level. I do hope we resign Blind as he's looking like a solid player and I'm really not sure of Boilesen's health.

Having said Joeri de Kamps ,Jong Ajax defensive midfielder ,wont get an extension his agent has confirmed he will sign a new contract to 2016! He is nearly 21 and has been injured for the best part of the last 12 months. He was due to be loaned to Almere last month but got another injury.With Boccara and Sporkslede both DM and rated above him I find it very odd we give him 3 more years. I can see him spending a year at Almere then we will sell him to Roda and perhaps get some transfer fee!!

More important Fischer is due to talk about a new contract next week and hopes to sign soon. Articles today suggest Toby will likely leave this summer but Christian will wait and see who comes in for him.

Reports today that Ajax will finally start contract talks with Blind at the end of next week . In addition it looks like Fischer is only going to extend to 2016 ie 2 year extension but agent Lerby is talking to the parents first .

Fischer ,if he develops will be gone by 2015 and thus will have had 4 years here just like Eriksen. Its great to get these foreign talents but does it really benefit us in the long term if they only see us as stepping stones!! If Fischer only signs to 2016 we would need to start extension talks next year ie before 2014/15 season starts otherwise he is another who will leave with 1 year left and thus less transfer money for us.

NB. Of course the new policy of a max 1m euros salary does mean we are never going to get established players signing extensions for more than 3 years at most. No one on our books has a contract beyond 2016 .

Contract talks with Blind and Ajax are offering 3 years to 2016 and both sides say there is not much disagreement with money etc ,(probably just down to his playing prospects) FDB says Blind is looked upon as a LB and defensive midfield ,which was his original position . Sounds like Blind wants to stay but does not want to go back onto the bench next season.

Ajax will talk about an extension with Serero shortly ,his deal runs out in June but has a 2year option.

The only question I have about Blind in the midfield is whether his handling speed is quick enough. Clearly he's probably quicker than Poulsen but that's not saying a lot. Is he as quick as Anita?

I was referring to his passing speed not foot speed. I think Blind is fast enough to play the positional part, what I don't know is whether his decision making in terms of passing is quick enough.

Ajax have extended Serero's contract to 2015 by virtue of implementing his 2 year option

7 youngsters all contracted today and all Dutch . Bas Kuipers an 18 year old defender from our A1 has signed to 2015 with a 1 year option
The others are all 17 this year and from our B1 ie U17 team and have signed 3 year contracts to June 2016.
Jairo Riedewald(now in our A1), Damian V Bruggen,Damon Mirani,Leeroy Owusu , these are all defenders. Midfielders James Efmorfidis and Jordy Bruijn .

Good to see us putting our 16 year olds under contract although goalie Groothuizen and another regular defender from our B1 Sanniez ,both Dutch U17's also ought to get contracts! The 3 main talents in our B1 team, are all still aged 15 , forwards Walian and Dekker plus midfielder Nouri. Walian is not 16 until later in the year but the other 2 are shortly 16 and assume Ajax will contract them .

From our A1 youths poor old Rosheuvel a fairly regular for 2 seasons still no contract . Maybe he is not very good !!

A big surprise today that Geoffrey Castillion ,currently on loan at Heracles and with a contract expiring in June,has an option on that contract and Ajax are extending it to 2014. Suggestions are its so we can get some transfer money this summer but it wont be more than 200,000 euros so maybe we are going to have him back next season ! Babel and Siem may well go leaving only Siggy and Hoesen as strikers!

Any players whose contracts run out in June have to be told by 1st April whether they are staying or going so Ajax have been busy with the Jong squad. Castillion already extended and 5th choice goalie Schmitz is getting a 1 year extension .

Our 4th choice goalie Kramer plus defender Busse are both being released .With Bonevacia also being released that just leaves Toivomaki,the defender from Finland ,on loan at Almere, and he too is likely to be released.


Of the seniors whose contracts run out in June just to remind that Babel and Blind ,still discussing and Sulejmani going although he has basically gone already.

Very good news Daley Blind has agreed to an extension to 2016. He has been very good at LB this season and is a much improved player.

Joel Veltman ,whose contract ran to 2015 has signed an extension to 2017 ,clearly the management have faith in him.

I hope so. He was pretty good last season. Kicking problems are mostly behind him and he improved a lot at dealing with crosses.

The guy deserves a good contract, he made dozens of unbelievable saves and meanwhile he became of one of the most constant Dutch goal keepers I have seen in history. In my opinion Kenneth is one of the most valuable Ajax players in the current squad.

Renew until 2018 please!

If Vermeer does renew what happens with Cillesen? I'm sure he wants first team football somewhere.

What happens with Cillessen is not priority number one, we want to be a top football squad, we need the best players we can get. Vermeer is by far the better goalie. Cillessen did only play a few games for NEC, didn't do a great job there. Conceeded 6 goals in two cup matches against AZ (2-3 defeat in Januari 2012, 0-3 defeat in December 2012), 2 against Roda, one of those was a very big blunder.

Cillessen was just a hype and became 'worth' 3 million euros from the moment Van Marwijk picked him for the Oranje squad. He is an inch or two taller than Vermeer, but by far not so strong and athletic.


In my opinion Jasper should be happy that he had a few nice league matches and Frank gives him all our KNVB Beker matches. We haven't been doing very well in the KNVB Beker since Cillessen arrived. If there is no perspective for him in 2014 anymore, he can leave. Not this summer, but within a year or one, two we should be able to replace Cillessen as second goalie by a youth talent.

Kenneth should be the guy for the long term!

Without question and I've always felt he is one of the best shot blockers in all of Euro football. His kicking was a weak spot before this season but I think he worked hard to improve it. We didn't have any more 'Utrecht' matches from him this season!

The only problem I see is if we sign him up and Cillessen moves on, then Vermeer leaves after a season or so. That would be irritating I guess.

Maybe loan Cillessen out for a season would be the answer for next year. We will have to bring in an older second goalie and let V d Hart play in the Jong Ajax Jupiler team

2 more lads from our youths given contracts Vincent Vermeij a forward who can play more than one position evidently and Derwin Martina was a winger but played as a right back for the second half of last season.Both are given contracts to June 2014 and will be with our Jong Ajax squad.
