U21 nobody ! Bizot plus wingers Wildschut VVV,and Jozefzoon RKC are all ex Ajax youths included .

U21 reserves or promises ie born 1st Jan 1992 or later , Ligeon Veltman Denswil and Lukoki.

Blind is in the starting lineup for tomorrows game thus it will be his first cap ,Vermeer and V Rhijn are on the bench.Daley has improved a lot this season and Ajax said yesterday they will discuss contract extension next week.

The Dutch U21's won 3-2 v Croatia today with no Ajax players involved although ex youths Bizot Wildschut and Jozefzoon all played.

The Dutch promises team lost 3-0 to Ireland this afternoon with Lukoki,Veltman and Denswil all used as 2nd half subs ,Ligeon dropped out the squad injured. After no Ajax in the U21's at least we had some at this level.

Hope Daley has a good game and as with all these friendlies most of the squad get used so expect Vermeer and V Rhijn to come on.

The Dutch U19's beat Scotland 2-1 with 3 Ajax players all used as 2nd half subs ,Leeuwenburgh (replaced V d Hart who had dropped out injured) El Hasnaoui a midfielder plus late replacement de Bondt a left winger.

Blind had a decent match against Italy. Went forward with purpose and was as good as he has been on defense. van Rhijn came on in the last 10 minutes for Janmaat at right fullback but didn't figure much in the match.

Both the Dutch U16 and U17 have played 4 nation friendly tournements over the last weekend and plenty of youths from Ajax involved.

The Dutch U16 finished 2nd and had they beat Portugal in the last game would have been first . Ajax players involved V Bladderen goalie, V Zweeden and Savastano both defenders,Nouri attacking midfielder and forwards Dekker plus Walian who scored 2 goals.

U17's finished 3rd behind Portugal and winners Germany but ahead of England. Groothuizen goalie, 5 defenders V Bruggen(scored a goal),Riedewald,Owusu ,Mirani and Lartey Sanniez plus midfielder Vissers all played.

U16's only play friendlies but U17 next month play Italy Norway and N Ireland in the final qualifying round for this summers Euro U17 championships.Group winner only goes to the finals. U17 level is imporant and gets TV coverage with Eurosports showing the finals every year and also Ajax U 17 tournements. Several of these kids listed will get contracts this summer hence I have posted this report to show who is coming through .

Yet more Ints at all ages coming up and yesterday the Dutch U17 beat Finland 3-1 in a friendly , with 6 from our youth sides included ie Goalie Groothuizen, defenders Owusu,V Bruggen, Mirani,Riedewald and midfielder Vissers .

In a couple of weeks the WC qualifiers take centre stage with Vermeer Blind V Rhijn and de Jong in the initial squad.

Friendlies taking place at U19,promises or U21 reserves and U21 and initial squads include plenty of our players.

Plenty of youth Ints this week but last night the Dutch U 21 beat Israel 2-1 in a friendly and no Ajax players are in the squad.

The U19's beat Czech Rep 6-0 in a friendly and the only Ajax player in the squad V d Hart did not play . As he is the Jong Ajax goalie that means no member of our A1 youth team made this squad . The U18's play a friendly next week with just one from our A1 Noordhoff a defender .Our A1 this year does not seem to have that much talent.

The U17's play 3 games in a qualifying group for this summers Euro champs with just the group winners going through and last night drew 2-2 with N.Ireland having been 2-0 up. Plenty of Ajax here with Groothuizen the goalie , Vissers in midfield plus 3 of the defenders V Bruggen ,Riedewald and Mirani who signed contracts last week (Owusu the 4th defender who signed last week was unused sub ). The U17 's now need to beat both Italy and Norway to go through.

The promises or U21 reserves play a friendly tonight and at least we have 4 in the squad ie Denswil ,Ligeon, de Sa and Lukoki with Veltman having been picked but dropping out injured.

Pleased my interest in Ajax youth is followed in Denmark.I am sure our Danish friend is very happy with so many Danish talents at Ajax.

Last night apart from Vermeer and Blind playing for the main team there was a Promises/U21 reserves friendly v Serbia and the Dutch won 2-1 with Ligeon and Denswil playing all the match and de Sa starting with Lukoki replacing him at HT.These 4 all need to play regular first team footy next season if not with Ajax then on loan.

We will have someone in the U21 game next week as Hoesen has been called up to the U21's for the first time.

Finally the only game over the weekend is the U17 playing Italy in a must win qualifier today ,6 Ajax lads in the squad.

U17 lost 1-0 to Italy and wont be in the U17 Euro finals this summer.Groothuizen, V Bruggen,Mirani,Riedewald and Vissers of Ajax all played .

Danny Hoesen scored a goal on his U21 debut tonight in Holland U21's 4-1 win over Norway in a friendly.He came on at HT as sub and was the only Ajax player in the squad.

Dutch U19's were 0-0 at HT today v Croatia in Croatia when the remainder of the game was snowed off.The only Ajax in the party V d Hart was injured and not fit to play .

Just to update on yesterdays lesser Junior ints.

The U17's drew 1-1 v Norway and have not qualified for the Euro finals. V Bruggen,Riedewald, Owusu and Vissers of Ajax played .

At U18 in a 4-1 win over Germany we actually had someone from our A1 youths Noordhoff coming on as sub. With no one in the U19's he is the only member of our A1 squad to play an Int this week.Doesn't say much for our A1youth team especially as 2 other subs used last night play for Almere!!


Although a very minor level the Dutch U16's play a 3 game friendly tournement this week with just 2 Ajax players. The goalie Meendering is the only player from our own U16 team ie B2's.The other player involved is Vince Gino Dekker a left winger and one of 3 regular 15 year olds in our U17 B1 team .Walian and Nouri the other 2 did not get picked . Both our players played yesterday in a1-1 draw v England.

There are various Ints in June but Ajax players wont be plentiful .The U21 Euro championships are next month and we have just 2 players in the squad V Rhijn and Blind .I would imagine this will be on Eurosport.

The full Oranje have 2 friendlies and I would expect just Vermeer and possibly Siem de Jong being in the squad

Finally at U19 level the Euro champs are in July and the Dutch have to play a final qualifying group of 3 early next month .The initial squad of about 30 which will be reduced contains just 3 players from our A1 ie Leeuwenburgh the goalie, Gravenberch a CD and left winger de Bondt.

Jong Oranje ie U21 beat Australia 3-1 in a friendly yesterday as a warm up for the forthcoming Euro champs. The only 2 Ajax players in the squad VRhijn and Blind played one half .

The seniors have 2 friendlies early next month v Indonesia and China with some fringe players picked due to others like Daley Blind at the U21 Euros champs .Vermeer and de Jong are picked and surprisingly Cillessen.

Danny Hoesen has been called up as a replacement for Jong Oranje in the upcoming U21 Euro champs so thats 3 from our club in the squad

Oranje beat Indonesia 3-0 today with Siem de Jong scoring 2 goals. Cillessen and Vermeer played a half each ,Cillessen's debut.

In the U21 Euro champs Holland started with a 3-2 win over Germany with V Rhijn and Blind playing.Russia and Spain to follow. England lose 1-0 to Italy,only Norway and Israel to play, and the country is declaring a crisis of youth players in the EPL.

The Oranje U21's though have 12 full Ints in the squad and their defence of VRhijn de Vrij,Martins Indi and Blind is stronger than the full teams v Indonesia Janmaat, Vlaar Pieters Nelom!

Nelom comes from Fword. Fword back 4 are normally Janmaat Mathijsen de Vrij Martins Indi so Nelom is just their reserve defender.

Oranje have been playing lots of youngsters in their WC qualifiers this season but for this U21 Champs have put them in their U21 team and have taken fringe players to Indonesia and China

Having only watched highlights of Jong Oranje beating Germany I watched all their game v Russia today and a fine 5-1 win by Oranje who looked very good. Blind and V Rhijn played the whole game and Hoesen came on 10 mins from ther end and his first touch was a nice goal.

Plenty of passing and posession football from Oranje but at 1-0 up they did get some luck when Russia had a player sent off after 50 mins. At 2-0 Oranje were way to casual and Russia scored but then 3 more goals saw them through and they should get to the semis. I would say quite a few of the team will be at the World Cup next year if Oranje senior team qualifies which they should do.

^They are through to the semi-finals as Germany lost to Spain on a late goal, 1-0. Final against Spain is not relevant except for seeding and the other group is pretty weak in comparison.

I'm not so sure, I know it's a cliché to complain about the Dutch defense but the back two really did look poor against Germany (who weren't very good by the way). Martins Indi is too slow and was repeatedly outpaced, and de Vrij made lots of mistakes giving the ball away under pressure etc. They gave Russia a free goal but other than that barely came under any pressure. We'll see, but I suspect Spain and Italy would both be able to take advantage.

^ I don't think Martins Indi is all that slow. Remember he plays left back at Feyenoord (a mistake in my opinion but when Mathijsen finally retires he will probably move inside) which is why he has difficulty at times in the center. At this point in time he is the best central defender that the Dutch NT has.

Yeah, I was surprised. Maybe he was slightly unfit, but I did notice him getting outpaced against Germany.
