No doubt, we're on top after this one! So, the title is on our own hands, but still tough games to come. Especially the away games against AZ and PSV.

I bet you all breathed a sigh of relief when that 3rd went in ,I did. A good solid performance and 3 points so now we are top
at last .Some tough games to go and it would be nice if we can get Babel and Cuenca fit for the run in. Schone and Fischer are not wingers and Boerrigter is only good as a sub .

Re: 10 Mar 2013: Ajax - PEC Zwolle
In the end a comfortable win against an opponent that just did not have much quality at all either on offense or defense. Good ball movement in the final third for a change but should have done much better on the scoring chances. This match should have really been 6-0 given how scattered the Zwolle defense was.
Player Ratings:
Vermeer (6) - I counted only one save on a soft shot, he really wasn't troubled at all and kicked the ball very well today
Blind (7.5) - well deserved MOTM by the fans who voted, defensively one of his best games and he wasn't afraid to go forward
Mosander (7) - only one faulty play amidst a bunch of very good ones
Alderwiereld (7) - along with his partner in the central defense stood tall and didn't allow anyone to put Vermeer in danger
van Rhijn (7) - good match and his shot late in the second half required a very good save to keep it out
Poulsen (7) - much faster ball handling today and he wasn't afraid to go into the attacking third
Eriksen (7) - great pass to Boerrigter on the third goal and he seems to have come out of his funk, good on the ball today
de Jong (6.5) - poor in the midfield, very good up front with a great turn and left foot shot that was unfortunately saved
Fischer (6.5) - better today but still some wild shots when a pass was warranted
Sigthorsson (6.5) - still looks like he's rounding into shape but did put the ball on frame with the first goal
Schöne (6.5) - not as good today for some reason, kept getting caught in double teams
Boerrigter (6.5) - put the ball away with his off foot
Serero (5) - on too briefly and didn't get many touches
Hoesen (5) - same as Serero
Taking them one at a time we're now at the top of the table with everything in our hands to keep this moving. Tricky fixture away to AZ next week and Verbeek was busy taking notes in the stands today. Keep the focus on don't look beyond next week's match.

Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: 10 Mar 2013: Ajax - PEC Zwolle
I compared the standing with last season: after 26 games, Ajax was #2 with 2 points less (AZ was #1 and is now #15!). Ajax took the lead after 28 games, so we're in advance season after season.

Hope Twente can do us a favour and beat Vitesse. Fword looked abit lucky as Roda looked as if they were denied a penalty .

Was in Amsterdam for the Zwolle game. Had a terrific time at the Arena.
Siem was our best player IMO.
Here he seems hurt when scoring, but he came back in play a short while later :
