I notice this game was on Rosenborg fc tv and there was astream ,I was out today so missed out on it but hope the other games can be shown as this appears a good youth team that we have.

Davy Klaassen born 21-2 93 in Hilversum is an attacking midfielder who appears to be highly rated .He was a regular in Dutch u17 and is now in the Dutch U19 .

Ajax A1 drew 3-3 with Fword A1 at de Toekomst yesterday .The last time the 2 teams played there was of course that magical sunny saturday back in April when I spent the afternoon at our world famous academy . Yesterday saw Ajax go 3-2 up in injury time then Fword scored at the very end of injury time .We has someone sent off and had quality regulars Denswil and Fischer not playing. ( At least that was progress after all when I watched them Fword won 1-0. ) Our A1 still top their league though.

4th game of the Next Gen series today in Turkey and our A1 drew 0-0 with Fenerbahce. They have 10 points from 4 games and still lead the group.The top 2 go through .

de Kamps and Arica from the Jong played as over age players and explains why de Kamps only got 30 mins for the Jong on Monday.

Several regulars were out injured ie Denswil, Fischer,Dijks, these 3 have contracts, plus Lazic , Schenk,Rosheuvel.(Bitter another with a contract has not played this season due to injury.) Thus we played with the 2 over age .

Ajax to lose a top talent to Man u, Liverpool or Villa says the headlines and I am thinking oh dear which 15 or 16 year old are they going to steal?

Well I then saw the name of the 3rd ranked striker in our A1 team Danzell Gravenberch ,18 next February ,is the so called top talent .He has moved up to the A1 this season and has only come on in games as a second half sub mainly for first choice striker Rowendy Schoop,who is a year older though . However would he have even made the subs bench if 17 year old Jordi Bitter,a striker already contracted had not been out injured all season up to date. If Ajax felt Gravenberch is a real prospect he would now be contracted after all they have been putting their best 16 and 17 year olds under contract for the last 3 years in order to stop them leaving for England.

Gravenberch looks like a younger version of Castillion but todays rumours of him going to England make me think of Jordi Brouwer who left us aged 19 for Liverpool and he drifted their for 4 years in the reserves and came home this year to ADO .Not getting into ADO this season he had his contract cancelled last month and is looking for a new club .Expect to see him at Almere in January !! I do not think we should lose sleep over Gravenberch going but if he does make it then there will be egg on the faces of our youth coaches I quess.

In the last 10 years only 2 youth players other than Brouwer have left us for England . Owusu Abeyie went to Arsenal back in 2002 after we kicked him out and has dissappeared without trace .In 2010 16 year old left winger Van Velzen left for Man U ,well last season he did not get into Dutch U17 because of de Bondt (now in our A1) .And to quote some of the dutch guys who are youth experts Kishna another left winger and a year younger was in a different class to V Velzen.Sadly Kishna has not played for nearly 12 months due to a bad knee injury . V Velzen has not featured in any Dutch youth squad so far this season .

More important as this moment is that the following youths have contracts ceasing next June; Bouy,Klaassen, de Sa , Denswil and Sporkslede of our A1 plus Lukoki and Ligeon of our Jong .

These are my observations but would like to hear what any of the dutch lads , who follow the youth teams think of Gravenberch

A1 lost 3-0 to Aston Villa in the next Gen series last night . Villa are 2 points clear of us at the top but have played all their games. Ajax have qualified for the quarters but to get a home draw and avoid the likes of Barca youth they need to win their last game ,home to Rosenberg next Tuesday. Apart from Klaassen and de Sa on first team duty they had loads of players injured although Fischer is the only one who is a regular and he tends to only play 45 mins like deBondt .Thus ,apart from the spare goalie, they had 5 players from our B1 u 17 on the subs bench.

A1 playing Rosenberg U19's at present in the final game of the next gen series .If we win we are top of our group and play a home quarter final .The game is in de Toekomst but no internet streams.

Only 2 regulars missing Fischer is injured but he usually only plays 45 mins and Nieuwpoort the right back who played for Jong Ajax last night. Tete is the B1 right back and making his debut at U19 level.

bad result Our A1 lost 2-0 at home to Rosenborg so finish 2nd in the group . quarter final either away to Barca ,Sporting Lisbon, or Inter/Spurs. That could be as far as we get!

In todays Times there was an article on new youth academy rules in England . It mentioned the hours they hoped future english kids would spend training and compared it to the top academy in Holland , Fword!!!!!!!!!!!. Yes they quoted Fword as the top academy in Holland. It mentioned they had recently lost 2or 3 good kids go to England , including 16 year old Rekik who has already played in Man City 1st team.

This has to be a sad day but given the amount of local produced kids Fword have at all Dutch Int youth levels I am not surprised . I think they have more local Dutch kids in their first team squad than us and consider they lost Castaignos to Inter at barely 19 and Bruma now at Hamburg only 19, Rekik 16 as already stated and of course some of them are at Excelsior their feeder club. In recent Dutch squads they have far more players than Ajax at every level other than U19 ,where we have some talent . The ultimate was looking at Dutch U15 squad of 30 players this week with about 10 Fword kids and ONE Ajax kid.
Numbers may not mean much but at Int youth level there are far more F Worders than Ajax so I quess the Times is right and that our enemy currently has the best youth academy in Holland.

A ps to the above I should make it clear that the current Dutch senior squad has over half the team from our academy and not many from Fword.

The academy was/is the key issue that brought Cruyff in to shake things up. It is his belief that the academy isn't doing the job these days. It's like turning a supertanker around in open waters, it takes some time. I think there isn't much doubt that Feyenoord have done a good job with youth development but unfortunately for them they cannot keep them.

Our B1 U17's are playing a tournement in Qatar this week and the opening game is today at 15.15 GMT and on Eurosport 2.

2 of the team already have contracts Becker and V d Boomen and 3 others have played for the Dutch u17,goalie Bijl plus defenders Noordhoff and Tete ,these 2 having already played for our A1. Sadly the most outstanding 16 year old we have is Kishna a winger , was rated better than de Sa and Lukoki ,badly injured his knee nearly a year ago and wont play until next season.

The U17's of 2008 featured Rodney Sneijder ,Castillion and Ebecilio.2010 team with Frank de Boer as coach had Klaassen ,Bouy and the current A1 talents .
Will be interesting to see what the current 16 year olds look like.

I have taped the game and will watch it in the morning.We drew 1-1 with Becker scoring but we played with 10 men from first half due to 2 yellows for a guy called Acolatse ,was known previously as Armah . On netwerk the players they rated were Becker and V d Boomen both contracted plus the right back Tete ,who hopefully will soon get a contract .I noticed we played the game with 2 centre backs from our B2 ie they are 15 and a year younger than the rest.

In case anyone is interested our B1 u17's are on Eurosport 2 again today at 15.15 GMT .They have to win their game by at least 3 clear goals to qualify for the semi.

Having played Vasco de Gama a Brazilian side on Weds they play Aspire today who I think are a team from Qatar.The only other big names in this tourny are Juventus and Barca.

B1 won 4-0 v Aspire and are now in the semi v juventus on Sunday .PSG and Kashima Japan in the other . Barca U 17 were not at the tourny .

Today V d Boomen scored one and Menig a hattrick . For the semi Becker,rated one of best players is suspended. Good experience for our U17 and indeed for U16's as some 15 year olds are playing .

SPL, thanks for the update. I looked for a stream this morning (US) and couldn't find any listed. Juventus are supposed to have one of the better youth organizations in Italy and the senior team is now playing much more like a Dutch team in terms of tactics. I'll check out to see if there will be stream on Sunday as it might prove to be a very interested match up.

B1 lost 4-1 to Juventus .It was not on eurosport. I did read the comments of some guys on Ajax Netwerk but none of them seemed to pick up that we started with 2 from the B2 and 4 subs were also B2 ie U16 team and thus they are only 15. Becker our best player was suspended. They play 3rd place playoff v Kashmira Japan and Juventus play PSG in final .

Good experience for these guys .

Yes and 3 of the goals were caused by mistakes of Noordhoff in the first half. I expect it's a good Italian lesson for the B1. And hopefully this keeps some scouts from stealing our youth players.

Just to say our B1 won their last game 1-0 v Kashima and finished 3rd in the tourny .PSG won it beating Juve in the final.

Main headline from our youth yesterday was the A1 had some coaching from Edwin v d Sar.Great news if he starts coaching.

The A1 play in Barcelona in the Next Gen series quarter finals today 18.30 CET I believe its on Tv and the nextgenseries .com site may also have astream.


The best of our U16 and U17's have been enjoying the sun in Portugal this last week . The Dutch U16 and U17 both played in 4 Team friendly tournements there although neither team won them.

At U16 level we had 3 players involved Lartey Sanniez, V Bruggen and Riedewald all defenders. We had 6 in the U17 , Bijl goalie ,defender Tete, midfielders Anderson and V d Boomen ,forwards Becker and Acolatse.

Last month our U17 team played in Qatar ,with 2 matches live on Eurosport. Of the above players only Lartey Sanniez did not go to Qatar. In the games I saw Becker and V d Boomen
were clearly our best players ,not surprisingly as they are the only 2 of the above contracted. Right back Tete also impressed me.
