This was a good display of football and some good oficiating.

Some questionable passing in the back line to start off the match and two real dumb yellow cards (why doesn't anyone on this team know how to tackle?) but the team did settle down. Two well taken goals and a couple of other chances on set plays leaves Ajax in control of this match. Dinamo look a step to slow that cause any problems as long as we keep our positioning and don't get anyone sent off on a stupid defensive challenge.

Excellent game by ajax.. solid in defence, dominating the midfield and very dangerous in attack.. a lots of movement everywhere on the pitch.. great great game AJAX!!

perfect night, dinamo very poor but great attitude from the guys.
well, maybe estetically speaking enoh is not the most beautiful player to see on a football pitch, but how essential he was tonight. boerrigter, de jong, sulejmani, janssen did all well. happy for lodeiro, also. this guy needs a bit more confidence, is a very good passer, not a future star but a good player certainly.
I am proud of these guys, don't forget that until a couple of years ago we could loose with everyone on the planet. and with dinamo we've lost, sometime ago.

In the end it was a relatively easy 4-0 win over a poor Dinamo Zagreb club. The fourth goal was a nice one with Ebecilio picking out Lodeiro quickly enough that he was in on the keeper and shot to the short side. The club still makes too many bad passes in the defensive end which will get punished by better teams and this is something that has plagued the team all season long. There is also a tendency to sleep walk through games which was evident in the last 30 minutes of this match when there was little attacking going on and back passing when it really was not needed. If they get a 3-0 lead, spread the offense out and work on the quick triangle passes and cuts; this is the Ajax way of never letting up on an opponent. Madrid beat Lyon 2-0 so we are in second at this point by goal differential with a chance of going to the knock out round. Away to Lyon will not be an easy match since their backs are to the wall.

Vermeer had little to do and only had the one low shot that seemed to trouble him. Alderweireld and Vertonghen were solid on defense and didn't make any mistakes on coming forward too soon and getting caught out. Van der Wiel was solid both offensively and defensively; the enforced rest of two matches seemed to have convinced him to up his game. Anita had a silly foul that cost him a Yellow card but otherwise played well. Enoh was average despite the great steal that led to the second goal; he just is too slow in making decisions when he has the ball and conceded the ball at least three times in dangerous situations. Jansen did little other than taking dead ball kicks; I think this was his weakest match since moving up to a more forward position. Eriksen had a good goal and assist but he should have played better. He got caught in some unnecessary 1-2 match ups and tried to break through it rather than look for the quick outlet pass. Boerrigter had a couple of good crosses and tracked back on defense well but was otherwise silent. Sulejmani took his goal well but tired near the end (I don't think he is fully fit). de Jong played well and was a much deeper striker than Sigthorsson who is stronger on the ball; he was a bit unlucky not to have another goal or two. This was one of his better matches. Ebecilio, Lodeiro and Lukoki all came on late in the match and didn't do anything wrong.

We need to show that the CL does not interfere with our Eredivisie campaign and a solid victory is really needed this weekend.

Guess what? Kim Kallstrom a key midfielder for Lyon, picked up a yellow card and willl miss the game against Ajax. Also Michel Bastos and Lisandro are ruled out of the game against Ajax, and their left back, chissoko is struggling with injuries, his deputy Dabo is crap

A good performance tonight against poor opposition but the goal difference is good at present.Much better from Greg tonight and good for Lodeiro to score.

Zagreb could do us a favour when they play OL in the last game.

I don't think Siggi , or Boilesen for that matter , will be back before Winterstop. Great result !! For round 5 , we could sure use some of the magic of the 0:2 away to Lyon otherwise known as one of Joe Didulica's finest hours (02 - 03 CL campaign , I think). CONGRATULATIONS to Ajax for stepping up to the plate today. Four goals to the good was beyond my wildest expectations .
