There is an expression in America about the basketball player who is always in the position to clean up and put the ball back in the hoop. We call him "The Garbageman" and this is exactly what Siem is doing today. Maybe that should be his nickname.

Again, we keep allowing stupid goals. However its three points in the bag so we must be grateful. Next up, Champions league football!! And then light bulbs. I hate we have a to play champions league before such an important game.

We cannot say that we don't play interesting matches. Almost gave away points today. The match official was not very good missing a number of hand balls and deflections out of touch. Ebicilio deserved a yellow card and nothing more. Poor play on the two Heracles goals and if we hope to compete for trophies this season this cannot stand. Vermeer made a couple of big saves today and the two goals were not his fault. Toby and Jan were good in the middle and the second goal was not really Vertonghen's fault as de Jong (? couldn't tell for sure) did a poor job of clearing the ball. Van der Wiel and Boilesen went forward when needed and played well on defense. Boilesen still needs to make smarter plays but that will come with more experience. Janssen had a good pass to Sulejmani on the first goal but otherwise showed his limitations as a player. Garbageman de Jong collected the two goals gifted him. Eriksen was lively and good on the ball today. Sulejmani was MOTM for me, active all match long and constantly threatening. Sigthorsson really didn't have a chance all match as they were sagging back on him. Boeriggter had a couple weak crosses before going out injured. Ebicilio was the best of the substitutes until the Red card; you really cannot go in for a challenge like that in the other team's half of the field with less than two minutes to go; DUMB play. Anita was solid as usual and should be starting. Enoh was not on long enough to impress.

We have Lyon mid-week and then travel to Eindhoven for PSV which really sucks big time. I guess if you want CL football you need to take the bad with the good.

Well a lot better second half but another defensive cock up thats 2 today and it cost us 2 goals. Not sure about Ebecilio's red. About 5 mins from HT Boerrigter appeared to suffer a much worse tackle but the Heracles guy did not get acard . Anyhow 3 points is all that matters.

De Jong should be given credit for his second half perfomance. I think he played well, at least better than what we have seen so far. He was however, a little at fault for heracles second goal as he failed to make a decisive clearance.

I still think our midfield is much more dynamic when we play Anita as defensive midfielder and slide Janssen and Eriksen up. Whenever Eriksen gets around the penalty area he makes amazing things happen.
