Re: Ajax jerseys, kit sponsors
For those who can't wait there's a sneak preview of the new home shirt on the official site here http://www.ajax.nl/Nieuws/Nieuwsarchief ... sshirt.htm
All you can really see is the design of the collar but given that the design doesn't change that much from year to year it gives a good idea of what the home shirt will look like.

It certainly looks like this "leaked" shirt : http://soccerlens.com/shirts/ajax-20112012-home-shirt/ (too bad...)

Doesn't look as shiny though in the official picture. I just hope it's made of better material. That shiny material look poor quality.
Think it's time for Adidas to make a new design just for us.

Re: Ajax jerseys, kit sponsors
On the official site it looks better quality. Also it looks like it says Wij Zijn Ajax in the red sleeve cuff. That makes me quite happy :D
Think Im gonna order this in from the site with the 3 stars and the gold eredivisie patches. 81 euros but its like an artifact!!!

Re: Ajax jerseys, kit sponsors
It seems pretty cool, really, but additional 20€ for a name and number is a rip off.

Re: Ajax jerseys, kit sponsors
I ordered the away kit with Anita and home kit with Eriksen, gold badge and 3 stars.
I think I just singlehandedly helped with our available transfer money.

I've always tried to wait for the new squad numbers too and also the end of the transfer window. That doesn't always work out so if not I go for a new player who definately won't be sold. That got me de Zeuw, Gabri and Oleguer (allafcajax73 schreef:i was tempted to order a shirt, but then i thought... Re: Ajax jerseys, kit sponsors
I remember before Torres went to Liverpool, i was at college, and there was a guy walking around with a Man Utd shirt on with Torres 9 on the back.. it was all over the papers for about 2 weeks before that he was going united, but never did! haha what a tit!
As for my Ajax shirts, i've never had a player on my shirt, and him last more than 2 seasons lol.. i think the longest was urby, possibly Huntelaar

Hmm, my record low is 6 months, lovely shirt, with the correct players Erediviise sleeve badge which I paid a fortune for at the time from Malaysia or somewhere, but with Rosenburg on the back.....afcajax73 schreef: As for my Ajax shirts, i've never had a player on my shirt, and him last more than 2 seasons lol.. i think the longest was urby, possibly Huntelaar

I'm waiting to see who the out of favor, perpetual wissel, and fringe players will be before I decide. I figure that, as the owner of Victor Sikora , Oleguer, Daniel de Ridder, and autographed Nicolae Mitea shirts , I have a reputation to uphold. I even have a rare Nikos Machlas # 10 home shirt. The Ajax shop probably figured that, as a yank, I'd never know a) who the greatest greek diver since Greg Louganis was; or b) that he was a # 9. They sent it free with my Chivu home # 5 back in '02.

Let's not forget that Nikos Machlas send us to the World Cup 1994 finals, with his goal against Russia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9Nl2rwd8QU And look how many torches where lit!!! Anyway, Machlas could have been betterBlind3 schreef:I'm waiting to see who the out of favor, perpetual wissel, and fringe players will be before I decide. Re: Ajax jerseys, kit sponsors
Nikos Machlas sold a blatant dive to Dick Jol vs. F-word in February, 2002 ; with Ajax - USA in attendance . Jol whistled a peno on F-word . Andre Bergdolmo calmly and ruthlessly converted the 1:1 . The timely dive and converted peno saved us from defeat. That was what the dive reference was about. Just a cheeky story about Nikos.

My favorite Greek Ajacied of all time was Yannis. I actually chatted with him in Greek for a few minutes at De Toekomst in 2003. Nice guy.

Yannis was a good guy! Very nice person indeed! Now is he something in our staff? Oh and my name is Yannis also!

Re: Ajax jerseys, kit sponsors
Agree about Yannis. Met him twice after training in the week leading up to the 2:1 home victory over PSV in 2004. The absolute epitome of class.

Re: Ajax jerseys, kit sponsors
Seems like yesterday, but it was 2004 . It was the week between the 1 Feb ADO match at the Arena ; complete with urine throwing away supporters, appearances for ADO by Tarik Oulida and Cedric van der Gun, and Ryan Babel's debut (# 39 at the # 9) ; and Yannis Ajax debut vs. PSV on 8 Feb '04. Ajax had signed Yannis on 2.2.04 from RJC because Sonck and Ibrahimovic were out , Raffie-gol was not fully fit ; Babel was 17 or 18 , and the PSV match was for first place .

This is turning itno quite a saga - some more of the home shirt has been revealed....http://www.ajaxshop.nl/en/ajax-voorinsc ... ey-1112-sr
Quite nice but I preferred the Amsterdam city crest that they had a couple of years ago and I think it would look better with just the three older badges and not the new one on the end as well.
