Re: New Players for Ajax
http://blogs.bettor.com/Joris-Mathijsen ... ove-a71910. Mathisjen had great world cup, but since I really don't follow much of the Bundesliga, I don't now what is his current level and form. However, being an international and having had the opportunity to play a world cup final he will be a great addition in terms of experience and mentality. The only thing I hope is that a Mathisjen move doesn't mean Vertonghen is on his way out
. Any comments on the Mathisjen situation?

Yes, I would be glad to see Vertonghen go, but if he goes, I hope he goes to Barcelona or AC Milan, Not Man City. Mathijsen is a solid defender, so I wouldnt mind settling for him. As for Van der Wiel, if he goes to Bayern, then Ajax should sign Boulahrouz.

I suspect Vertonghen's departure depends much on where his gf goes.

Any news on a new striker? I've been away for a while and still trying to catch up.
By the way - Matavž deal to Napoli has collapsed, so he's staying at Groningen (for now at least)

Excuse me! But why isnt Ajax going after Bryan Ruiz? Already Benfica and Porto are chasing him. He is like a Fox in the Box. So why doesnt Ajax sign him??
Re: New Players for Ajax
Because we don't have 15 mln to spend? Twente will not sell to Qjax and certainly not for 10 mln? Because Ruiz probably doesn't want to come? Because we already have Sulejmani as right winger, who cost us 16 mln?
Just some thoughts...

Twente have reportedly set a €10 million asking price for Ruiz. The forward has previously been linked with Spanish clubs Sevilla and Villarreal.
Once Ajax sell Stekelenburg and Vertoghen, they can afford him. sure Ajax have Sulejmani,
but it doesnt mean he cant play on the left or compete with Ruiz on the right or play Ruiz as a number 9.
Re: New Players for Ajax
The 10 mln pricetag does not apply to Ajax.

Re: New Players for Ajax
I don't think Ruiz ever fully recovered from his knee injury this season and did not look like the player he was the previous season. IMO we don't need him.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: New Players for Ajax
Boerrigter signs.

Re: New Players for Ajax
Is Dirk a first choice player or a good prospect for a perfect sub?
May the Force be with you
Re: New Players for Ajax
He'll have to compete with Ebicilio for the left winger position, he could win that, I think.

Re: New Players for Ajax
I wonder for the right wing Ajax should get Elia

Re: New Players for Ajax
VI is reporting that Matavz's transfer to Napoli has broken down and he's looking to move to Ajax now. Would be bloody brilliant if we can get rid of El Ham and use that money towards getting Matavz.

Re: New Players for Ajax
According to goal.com:
Ajax coach Frank de Boer confident of signing AZ striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson
The Iceland international is being linked with a move to Amsterdam and De Boer is confident that the transfer will go ahead
Ajax coach Frank de Boer is still confident that the Eredivisie champions will succeed in luring young striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson away from AZ in the summer transfer window.
The Amsterdam giants recently made an offer for the 21-year-old Iceland international, but AZ were quick to turn the bid down. Nevertheless, De Boer still thinks that the move will materialise in the near future.
"Things are looking very good and I am confident that we will be able to complete the deal soon," De Boer was quoted as saying by Voetbal International.
"Our squad is ready for next year once we have completed the [Sigthorsson] deal, although there is still the possibility that some players will leave. I know that there is some interest for Jan Vertonghen and Maarten Stekelenburg."
Ajax have already secured the signatures of Theo Janssen, Thulani Serero and Derk Boerrigter.

Re: New Players for Ajax
It seems like the Sigthosson won't be materializaing any time soon since AZ refuse to lower his price tag. Maybe we will be focusing our attention on Matavz now.

I wouldn´t mind us going for Bendtner, he´s available but probably out of our price range etc.
T.I.P.S.= Technique, insight, personality and speed, this is the Ajax way.

Not rather Sigthorsson? Coming from an Icelander? How is he perceived in Iceland?Flipster81 schreef:I wouldn´t mind us going for Bendtner, he´s available but probably out of our price range etc.

Re: New Players for Ajax
Don't get me wrong Kolbeinn would be a fantastic player for us, but I just think Bendtner is more polished. He would thrive playing for Ajax alongside Eriksen, but like I say he is probably too expensive. He's a very good talent and perceived so as are Johan Gudmundsson and Gylfi Sigurdsson but the real king of football here is Eidur Gudjohnsen, everything is about him.
I'm actually Welsh, I live in Reykjavik with my girlfriend who's Icelandic but I do go and watch the Icelandic national team on occasion, got to see Eriksen in the flesh for the first time recently and he scored!!
