Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Ah right, so technically the Europa League spot for the cup winner vanishes because both the winner and the runner-up got CL?
Thanks...
Thanks...
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
FC Oss won their league yesterday and will be promoted with Almere going out the league.
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Where do you get that the league is in 10th place? I can only find sites that note we are in 6th for the current year and 7th for the average. So I am not sure that we lose a place at all. It is also probably up to the football association to figure out the placement if the Cup Winner already qualified via a different path.#14 schreef:Due to the fact that NL is in 10th position in the UEFA coefficient table for next season, it gets 2 CL spots (group and non-champion 3rd qualifying round) and 3 EL spots (cup winner in 4th round, one spot in 3rd round, one spot in 2nd round) for a total of 5 spots (whereas this year it had 6 spots). Ajax and Twente are in CL and then PSV, AZ, and playoff winner in EL. Since the "cup winner" would get the place furthest along in the EL, technically PSV got the "cup winner" spot = 4th round, AZ the 3rd round, and the winner of the playoff will get the 2nd round.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
The coefficients you quote that show us in 9th will be for the places in the 2012/13 UEFA season. For the 2011/12 UEFA season, we are in 10th, which you can see by looking at the coefficients here:
http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/ ... index.html
I know it's a bit confusing - the way it works is that the final coefficient at the end of each season actually tells you the spots for the season *after* the upcoming season. So in 2011/12 we get 5, and in 2012/13 we'll be back to 6.
Also, the CW spot didn't disappear. We only got 5 spots for next season. Because neither Ajax nor Twente needed the spot, AZ got a spot rather than being in the playoff, and Heracles got to be in the playoff whereas otherwise they wouldn't.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
I wonder what will our own Ajax coefficient for the CL. And will we be in pot 2 or pot 3 ? Too early to tell I guess.

Appie, stay strong !

I suppose this must he the ultimate tribute - Heerenveen have literally stolen the shirt off our backs

Bet this goes down well with their fans lol, at least they'll know in advance which shirt the team will be wearing away at the ArenA next season.....

*LOL* They really did have a shit couple of months. Don't forget: they spent more weeks at the top of the table than Ajax or Twente. They were the title favourites for a long time, but they really really f**ked it up big style in the final six or seven games or so. Ajax got 15 points out of the last five games. I think PSV got 7 points out of the last five...

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
The KNVB published their financial club rating the other day (which they will do annually from now on).Over Pasanens Head schreef:Ko - Have you an update on the financial of Willem II?
Category 3 = financially solid
Category 2 = 'okay for now, but potential worries if situation doesn't improve'
Category 1 = bad financial situation, therefore to be supervised by the KNVB (in some cases these clubs run the risk of not getting a license for next season)
So, here you go:
Willem II are in category 1, as you can see, but their management claims that they will not go bankrupt, that there is a solid plan for next season and that they have enough sponsors already. "The lowest point is definitely behind us."Categorie 1: AGOVV, Almere City FC, sc Cambuur Leeuwarden, FC Den Bosch, FC Dordrecht, FC Emmen, Excelsior, Feyenoord, Helmond Sport, NAC Breda, NEC, RBC Roosendaal, Roda JC, BV Veendam, Vitesse en Willem II.
Categorie 2: ADO Den Haag, Ajax, AZ, FC Eindhoven, Fortuna Sittard, De Graafschap, FC Groningen, sc Heerenveen, Heracles Almelo, MVV, PSV, RKC Waalwijk, Sparta Rotterdam, FC Utrecht en FC Zwolle.
Categorie 3: Go Ahead Eagles, Telstar, FC Twente, FC Volendam en VVV-Venlo.
Doesn't look like they will go out of business.
As you can see: only two Eredivisie clubs are totally 'solid' at the moment (and VVV-Venlo may still go down). The club most likely to go out of business right now seems to be RBC Roosendaal.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
In the EL playoff, Groningen overcome a 5-1 first match deficit to pull back 5-1 at home. No goals in ET and go to penalties. Matavz hits the post and ADO win. What a cruel way for the match to end for the home supporters.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Yeah I saw some of that on ESPN today - the guy who missed the last penalty (it was 4-3 to ADO when Groningen took their 5th one) scored one of the goals to get it to 5-1 in the first place. Pitty really, not keen on ADO.Orange14 schreef:In the EL playoff, Groningen overcome a 5-1 first match deficit to pull back 5-1 at home. No goals in ET and go to penalties. Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Both Excelsior and VVV-Venlo survived the play-offs and will stay in the Eredivisie.
Excelsior did it convincingly; VVV-Venlo had a very narrow escape against FC Zwolle, who could have killed them in the second half today.
So, RKC Waalwijk will be the only newcomers to the Eredivisie next season.

More on the PSV mess...
Eindhoven purchased the ground under the club's stadium for a fee of €48.4m. PSV obtained the right to continue to use the ground and are consequently obligated to pay an annual fee of €2.5m over the next 20 years. Philips granted a €20m loan to help boost equity.

Doesn't seem quite as bad if this scenario also includes them losing Dzsudzsak, Toivonen and Engelaar. Especially if Gomes is back in goalsouras84 schreef:Wijnaldum and Schaars in the light bulbs?? Shit man!

Still not a terrible looking side, I expect PSV will be in the running next year like usual.

For me, Gomes was on of the main reasons why psv won 4 titles in a row (2004-2008). He was terrible at Tottenham, but at psv he was really good, so i definetly don't want to see him back.gordonvandekamp schreef:Doesn't seem quite as bad if this scenario also includes them losing Dzsudzsak, Toivonen and Engelaar. WHAT!!!! Another one!!!! something's got to be done in football, somehow....too many clubs having difficulties or going to the wall.....!
To much is done on the "never never"....should only borrow what they can afford and not want to be able to afford!!
