I'm sure that's exactly how it works Ko..........Kowalczyk schreef:According to reports in the Dutch press (Algemeen Dagblad, for example) Urby Emanuelson is now 100% and definitively out of favor at AC Milan. They consider him a bad buy and want to get rid of him a.s.a.p. Can't say I'm surprised. The only person in the world who believed he'd get a serious chance there was Urby himself (sadly, I don't even think his agent thought he would).
Reportedly, AC Milan now want to buy... our man Maxwell.
Urby wasalmost out of contract, so he was very cheap. I seriously believe AC Milan only bought him as an investment: "Hmm, let's see... He played for Ajax, had a few games for Holland... That's pretty sexy and he will cost us only 1.7 million euros. Even if we don't give him a minute of playing time and sell him again after two months, we'll still make a profit, so let's do it, even though we don't really want him."
Pretty evil, but I think that's how it works.

Not surprised in fact the only surprise was Milan bought him . Someone like Wolfsburg or Everton will probably buy him now.

Still alive...
Re: Former Ajax Players
I don't think this is going to happen as Eric Abidal is undergoing emergency surgery for a tumour on his liver. We won't know the severity of this until the pathology is in (if it is benign recovery could be quite quick, if not things could be grim). Maxwell will be with Barca for the foreseeable future.Kowalczyk schreef: Reportedly, AC Milan now want to buy... our man Maxwell.

It is tough to see who might want Urby given he is a tweener (a player without a good defined position). Even a mid-table German or English team will think twice.

Apparently Petri wants to leave Werder in the summer... .
Anyone reckon he's coming back?
From that generation of defenders, we could do with Chivu and Maxwell coming back.
Though with Chivu playing at a winning Inter and Maxwell possibly kicking Urby out at AC Milan, I don't hold much hope.
Trabelsi is retired right?

Keeper Van der Sar snubs Ajax for Old Trafford coaching role

Edwin van der Sar has ruled out a return to Ajax after he retires, revealing he plans to stay at Manchester United in a non-playing role.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper will quit at the end of the season, but told Dutch magazine Life After Football he will not be making good on a 12-year-old pledge to return to Amsterdam just yet.
Staying put: The United stopper has ruled out a return to Ajax
'I'm not going back to Amsterdam, though it would be very comfortable there with Frank de Boer, Danny Blind and Dennis Bergkamp,' said Van der Sar of his former Ajax team-mates.
'When I left 12 years ago, I said I would return, but I did not know then what great years I would have with Manchester United. 'I might occasionally visit training with them, but I will not be going regularly.'
Instead, Van der Sar is mapping out a role with United. 'It may be that I'm going to give Manchester United clinics in Asia, where the club is very popular, or something in commerce,' he added. 'I think this is interesting. I have already held some talks.'

Re: Former Ajax Players
Our old friend Dennis Rommendahl scored a cracker of a volley in the recent Euro qualifiers against Norway.
Our current Danish, one Christian Eriksen took the corner.
See here.
Lovely.

Seeing him play for olympiakos this season, he seemed demotivated. and of course, he always wanted to stay and should do so. but was it jol who didnt want him?

Re: Former Ajax Players
Not quite; management made a decision not to give any over-30 year old player a multi-year contract (Arsenal do the same) Both Rommedahl and Pantelic got this in Greece and it was simple economics for them to move there. I can't blame our club as it is dicey to give such players multi-year contracts and I can't blame the players for taking the money.souras84 schreef:Seeing him play for olympiakos this season, he seemed demotivated. and of course, he always wanted to stay and should do so. but was it jol who didnt want him?

Re: Former Ajax Players
Further with Jozefsoon opting not to stay either, Dennis would have been invaluable.
It's been awhile since former players returned. I liked what happened in the past where former players (think Litmanen, Winter, Richard Witschge but less so, Mido) came back at 31-35 for a last hurrah.
Escude is 32
Chivu is 31 (didn't he promise to come back?)
Maxwell is 30
Ibrahimovic is 30 (yes I know this one is a long shot)
Pasanen is 30

So I tuned in to the Seattle Sounders game tonight and they presented none other than Mauro Rosales in the starting lineup. I guess he signed with Seattle from River Plate a couple of weeks ago.
They are playing him up front as a replacement for an injured striker. I think that formation is going to end in tears for everyone. I have great memories watching him on the right wing at the ArenA.
Maybe I will pay attention to the Sounders this season (but the highlight will still be Portland v

Re: Former Ajax Players
Thanks Urby!
AC Milan's Italian league title has benefited Amsterdam football club Ajax to the tune of €750,000, the Telegraaf reports on Monday.
The money stems from the €1.7m transfer of Urby Emanuelson in January. That contract also included the provisio that Ajax would get more money if Milan took the title.
Ironically, Emanuelson himself did not play in the title-winning match, the paper points out.
