Congratulations to the boys on a gutsy win. It took that goal to jar them into playing with the kind of urgency they will need to win the title. Hopefully they will keep that sense of urgency for the last two games.

And in my opinion, Cvitanich should start the next two games. He can't be any worse than El Hamdaoui.

We sleep walk for 70 minutes, playing probably the worst football of the season and then with about five minutes of what could be called inspired football win 4-1 in a match that was much closer than it seemed. I don't think this type of performance will satisfy de Boer and certainly we should have been punished for the constant bad passes and dumb plays. Player summary follows:

Vermeer - made a couple of good saves that kept the ball out of his goal but is still a little indecisive on free kicks.
Vertonghen & Alderweireld - both had solid matches and kept their cool despite being pressured because we couldn't control the ball
van der Wiel - one inspired play coupled with at least five bad mistakes that could have cost the match
Boilesen - good going forward and better on defense this match'
Blind - on briefly in the end and did decently enough
Anita - rock in midfield and made some good passes
Eriksen - good ball control as usual and when we weren't turning the ball over was making smart passes
de Zeeuw - decent in a reserve role
de Jong - better match by him today; well taken forth goal
Sulejmani - great pass on the third goal
el Hamdaoui - better today but still looks to dribble rather than pass; maybe if he gets a goal things will improve but overall is just too slow to create anything
Ebecilio - good match overall and scored the important first goal of the match

We are going to need to do much better next week when we go to Heerenveen. This could be a tricky fixture and we cannot afford to play loose with the ball as they will surely punish us in a way that Excelsior could not!

2nd half turned out great in the end . Sopcast sound went ,tried roja link but got a potential virus message so watched 13 th stream on sopcast in silence but was a good picture(about the first time M&M did not have a link on sopcast)
We are still not playing great but doing enough to win . At least it is our hands now , 2games 2 wins and the title. Vertonghen is now only 1 yellow away from a suspension so hope he does not miss the last game.

El H is too slow not good enough and should not play another minute in an Ajax shirt . Cvitanich should start next week although a great goal by Siem as a striker. Ebecilio took his goals well.

Stressful watching today just cursing that we have to have the cup final before the last game.

I don't think so. He was already suspended for yellow card accumulation a couple of matches ago (just checked and he sat out the Herales match). Remember we had to start both of our geriatric central defenders.

we need to be really careful against herenveen. this performance against them will lead to a loss. they are very fast up from and we need to close things down. definitely can score against their defense but need to keep ours in check. if we win next game, we win the league

A possible double after all the doom and gloom of Jol's final few weeks is some good going by Franky boy and the team. Especially with all the board wranglings hanging over the club at the moment. The highlight of my season (apart from hopefully what happens at the end, breaking Twente hearts in 2 competitions) the away win in Milan, what a fantastic game!

On a side note, anyone know if there's a stream I can watch the Aegon Future Cup?

I wonder how different tis team would have looked if Anita had been playing midfield all along during Martin Jol's tenure. It was alays the spot in the field were we always ended up giving advantages t opposing teams, with De Zeuww being very undisciplined tactically and Enoh being terrible on the ball. I think this is the one player who has made a real difference in the team, well besides Eriksen of course. Of course we still play very mediocre football for long stretches of the game, but still, we at least are grabbing three points rather consistently.

The differences for me, along with the emergence of Anita as the holding midfielder is Jol's obvious blindness in the youth, instead relying on familiar has-beens, Tainio & Atouba anyone?

Where as de Boer has embraced them, making Eriksen the playmaker instead of a sub and bringing through Ebecilio, Boilesen, Blind & Ozbiliz. Yes i know Jol gave Ozbiliz his debut, it's such a pity this team will be broke up early.

Thanks Orange, much appreciated, gutted i missed that game, that was the one i wanted to watch.

Can't believe we've not been given a penalty when the dude was clearly playing volleyball!!

Just a couple of minutes before, Van der Wiel was offside when he gave the decisive pass for Ajax's second goal. That explains why the ref didn't give Ajax a penno. Pathetic, but that's how referee's psychology works.

Vertonghen was suspended after 5 yellows but I believe you get suspended after 7 then 9 yellows and he now has 6. Perhaps someone can confirm.

Great that a very young team has taken us so close.

2 wins for the title but even if we draw next week at Heerenveen a win v Twente and PSV drawing at Groningen would still see us champs on goal difference. Lets just win both games and get that 3rd star.
