It may be that they have made a decision to go with the young team in order to decide who will be offered contract extensions. Let's hope this is the case and that they make wise decisions. I personally think things are looking brighter for us.

Castillion played the first hour. Does anyone know if he is close to the first team, or is he still recovering his form after his long term injury.

I amended my last post as the official site showed Suk came on for Castillion.Given only an hour suggests he is still getting back to full fitness.

NB. Just seen what the experts posted on netwerk and one of them reported Castillion looked weak and Ozbiliz and Overtoom were our stars.

Apart from the goalie the same starting lineup as last week . I expected Verhoeven to play as he needs to keep match fit in case Steks gets injured but the others are all proper Jong players.

Since last week Burnet has stated Ajax want to offer him a contract but still nothing on the futures Bizot, Kappelhof,V.Rhijn and Overtoom.I have read nothing so far of these 4 in contract talks.

1-0 at HT Cvitanich scored. Of the above Toivomaki and Sneijder are the only 2 with contracts for

Early second half and Bonevacia for Sneijder and Koppers for V Rhijn. Surely this sort of game should have seen some of our talented A1 play !!

2-0 win in the end with Sno scoring the second.

The other subs used were Burnet for Atouba , whose hamstring went ! Kappelhof was a late sub for Toivomaki.

Having a friendly game in a week when there was no league fixture was a good idea and I have no problem with Cvitanich getting in 90 mins as he is being used at 1st team level but why were the likes of Sno, Atouba ,Donald and Suk starting !! The proper Jong players only got half a game or less. Evidently Castillion had a slight problem with his knee and was rested and should be fully fit next week. Bizot and Overtoom are the other regular Jong players but they did not even feature.

1-0 to Ajax at HT . Castillion scored a nice goal following a run through the centre by V Rhijn who sloted a pass to Castillion who ran and shot from just inside the box.

A late winner by PSV so they win 2-1 . Subs used Toivomaki for Lodeiro on 57, Suk for Castillion on 59
and Bouy for Sneijder on 67 . Sneijder injured his ankle.

With 10 men we struggled in the end. The winner was down to sloppy defending by us. Toivomaki looked ok. Nobody stood out but would say why is Suk and Donald being used as they are being released. Donald was ok but Suk just runs around like a headless chicken!! Not sure how many of these players will make it!

I only saw the second half and agree that it was hard to fathom who will make it. I was surprised that being down a man that the team was able to keep as much possession and mount some offensive challenges (maybe I missed something and couldn't count the PSV players but I assume they had a full 11 on the pitch). Bizot seemed to be active in the goal but parried every single shot back into the field of play (which led to the 2nd goal). Toivomaki looked comfortable on the ball when he was at right back but got beaten pretty easily by the PSV winger on that side. Of the players I saw enough of, only Bonevacia and Jozefzoon are first team material (couldn't judge the other defenders very well, didn't see Castillion much and don't count Lodeiro as he is a first team player). I guess Josefzoon is playing out his contract and will take his chances on the market.

I have been making comments recently about the slowness in agreeing contracts but having watched last night have to say of those whose contracts have not yet been renewed ,Bizot, Kappelhof,VRhijn Burnet Castillion and Jozefzoon(Overtoom is injured according to Benji) if they all left I am not sure we would be missing any great talents. Castillion has potential but has been out for a year .
The others are all in the postion that if they are here next season they are not ready for the first team and there will be great competition from the current youths :

Bizot will have Padt ,Dutch the U21 goalie back, Hahn the Dutch U19 also in the Jong.

defence wise both V.Rhijn and Kappelhof have been played at right back and centre back but Toivomaki will be around and Ligeon is highly rated at right back. As for centre backs well Veltman and Koppers will be there also Boilesen . The last 2 both play left back . In the A1 Denswil ,a centre back and Dijks,left back are both highly rated and although both are still youths next season they will surely challenge.

On the wing Jozefzoon has even more competition,apart from Ebecilio and Ozbiliz ahead of him, Lukoki will be in the Jong and Ondaan and de Sa ,both will still be youths next season but will surely start to break through and even Kishna,although only just 16 could break through into the Jong next seaon.

Overall apart from possibly Bonevacia and Castillion I am not sure how many of the current Jong will be challenging for the first team squad next season!! With so many talents in our A1 maybe more
of our Jong than I think will not be renewed this season.

One last thing from last night . Sneijder went nose to nose with a PSV player and threw himself to the floor as if he had been given a left hook . It was imo play acting as worse as anything I have seen and he should have been red carded imo .

Good to see Vermeer back in action although I expect we will still see Verhoeven for another couple of games yet. The other fringe first teamers all needed a run out . I quess Sno also deserves one last run out in an Ajax shirt . Lodeiro having played 90 mins on Monday was obviously rested.
Given all the fit Jong players got a game on Monday they clearly were not going to play another 90 mins today.

Not yet.Most contracts still to be decided .

So far Bonevacia and Sneijder signed to 2013
Toivomaki to 2013.
Zeegelaar and Padt ,both out on loan,signed to 2012.

All the others are still being negotiated or not yet told of being released.

Ozbiliz, Castillion , Burnet all been offered extensions, Jozefzoon turned down. Nothing known on the rest ie Bizot, Deckers, V Rhijn, Kappelhof, Overtoom,Ottenhoff (injured all season) plus loan players at Almere Schouw and Decker.

I did think in the Netherlands you had to inform players by 31st March whether they are to get contract renewals or not! If so I imagine Ajax will announce those being released shortly.

Ondaan is a left winger from the A1, Cijntje a winger from the A2 and Kip a midfielder from the A1 .

Just catching up with all the news and nothing about new contracts but the fact that Ligeon ,the right back for the A1 was on the bench for the first team and Koppers trained with the first I would imagine that V Rhijn and Kappelhof wont stay !!!
