Orange you are right someone did post about this not sure of details, but as quoted his contract expires July and Ajax do not at present look as if they will renew .They will just loan out to the end of his contract so I assume wont be paying anything extra.

I do not want to see Greg leave but if we got an offer of 20m euros this week we should take it . I still do not think he can defend that great . At least we would have plenty of choices to replace him ie
Oleguer,Silva,Anita,VRhijn and Toivomaki .

I quite agree here. I'm a contrarian on Greg, and believe he is really only worth €8-10M at the most. He doesn't come forward fast, is not strong in the air (e.g., Sergio Ramos), nor is he a great crosser of the ball. Most damning is he is basically a one footed player (has anyone ever seen him go to his left using his left foot?). I suspect his price inflation is a result of starting in the WC last summer (when quite frankly there were no other real options). He really needs two more years to work out all the flaws in his game.

On the subject of right backs ,we haven't a live thread for Silva but not worth it as he is out for 3 months and will have a shoulder op. So no chance of him going this month.

I will get my soap box out again and say that now we have nearly 30 m euros this week we can pay off, Atouba, Sno Tainio Bodul Suk and Donald . What is the point of keeping these unwanted players here we do not even want them in the Jong team . Atouba and Sno are on 1m euros plus pa but the
others aren't on high salaries.

Adriano (ex - Sevilla) is better than GvdW , so Greg would still see a lot of bench time. Adriano is playing a much larger role these days, to prepare for Alves possible exit.

Ie Darko Bodul just released to join Nacional Madeira in Portoguese League
Suk is apparently followed by Excelsior who already has our Zeegelaar

Why is Suk still here? We do not want him and have told him to find a new club which he does but because Bodul has left we decide to keep Suk . He played 12 mins for the Jong tonight and thats about all he will get every week until he goes. When fit Cvitanich will still be here and he will likely play some Jong games as we will want money for him and need him to get match fit.

Evidently Almere wanted 5 of our players but only Schouw went . I imagine Donald and Sno probably said no !!

Ajax should now pay off the unwanted players and I am being serious . Sno Suk Tainio Donald and Atouba have nil future at the club we have to pay their wages until June so just pay them off now and let them find new clubs. I do not want to see any of these even play for the Jong even as subs. I suppose I am being hard on Suk because today Ajax pissed him around big time.

It seems that Vertonghen declared to de Telegraaf he is seriously thinking of leaving next summer. He and every Ajax player should be more concerned about bringing us our third star. And I am sick and tired of players who are only thinking of their bank accounts. We fans want trophies, but they only seem to care about money. As they say in South America : "que se vayan todos" !

With Vertonghen leaving, I suspect we need to make signing a center half the priority. I suspect Stecks will also go off to Old Trafford next season.

Mitchell Donald has evidently agreed a 3 year contract from the summer with Roda . Good luck to him .

The poor guy should have been out on loan all this season but instead has been allowed to drift . Hope he gets his chances with Roda.

He's just a smidgen short of ability to play for Ajax but a decent player. I wish him well; too bad he's not going to a more exotic place like Jeffery Sarpong did!

a good one: teemu tainio on trial at New York Red Bull, as a free agent. With Donald and Bodul released last days, we remain with "only" the (expiring) contracts of sno, atouba and graafland among the unwanted and older players.oh yes, and the poor suk. a good job, after all.

I can only come up with the following and cannot work out why Toby has not been sold by the press yet!

Ajax today said official goodbyes to 9 players whose contracts are expiring next month and who are in the Jong squad. Atouba, Sno, Suk,Donald plus proper Jong Kappelhof,Ottenhoff,Burnet, Deckers and Overtoom.
The Jong finished training today and are off to Hong Kong for an end of season tournement later this week so the above have said goodbye .

Just to clarify that Kappelhof and Burnet are joining Groningen,Donald Roda and Ottenhoff Twente.

2 other Jong players who have already said goodbye are Decker and Schouw both at Almere on loan and not returning.

NB Wielaert has also said goodbye as he is on loan at Roda and Oleguer and Graafland makes 14 players all leaving with contracts expiring next month .
