Players worthy of wearing the red and white today: Stekelenberg, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Anita, van der Wiel, de Zeeuw. Everyone else should have stayed home. The score clearly was not reflective of the performance in general. We were much more solid on defense than in Madrid. Problem is still too many weak passes and absolutely no clue what to do on the offensive end. We don't have anyone creating space and as a result we are going up against superior numbers each and every time. Vertonghen's shot off the free kick was the only close thing to a goal the whole match.

I liked the way our fullbacks were moving forward and Anita seemed to have a good idea where the ball should go. Enoh was pathetic when he had the ball; I don't think he has a clue about what is going on around him. He did mark Ronaldo pretty well during the match but conceded the first goal by not covering the runner. Urby had his usual zone in/zone out match. Trouble was the zone outs led to two Madrid goals. You have to feel for Steks today; he clearly did not deserve a 4-0 score line at all.

As for the gaffer why bring on Lindgren near the end of the match? Eriksen should have come on much sooner and should be starting above Sulejmani from here on out (I wouldn't blame him if he wants to leave the club as rumoured).
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!

as poor a performance as I have ever seen from Ajax and yes I know it was Real . The midfield was non existant well until 87 mins when Eriksen came on . A pass through to Suarez, a corner and a cross from the right . I remember this because that is more than Siem , Sulejmani, Urby achieved all game between them .As for Lindgren did he touch the ball and Enoh was crap as usual . Jol is supposed to be the coach but the man is completely clueless. Just hope Auxerre do not get alucky point in Madrid .

If Jol continues to piss Eriksen about then the kid will leave next summer. The boy is a real talent but with a defence minded midfield plus Siem and Urby do nothing every game he really must be fed up and has evidently said so in Denmark .

I am completly disillusioned with Jol and what he is doing to this club this season .

The said thing about Jol is that he is afraid to bring anyone young and new to the squad. Certain players like El Ham, Siem, Urby and Sulejmani get their playing while producing nothing for many games. Enoh and Lindgren can't make a single pass in midfield but still Blind and Bonevacia don't even get a chance. Eriksen has very limited time but he has become a better player since the start of the season.

What was Jol thinking about the subs? No forwards there at all...

In truth Eriksen is probably just a bit frustrated and this was reported to the Danish media. I just think he should be in the team ahead of Siem .

As for forwards why was Mido not on the bench . With Jozefzoon out injured until the new year the picking of Ozbiliz leaves players like Suk, Bodul and Zeegelaar probably heading for the exit door .

We now have to do without Suarez for 2 games and a completely useless midfield so I am not confident we will beat VVV on Sunday .

Our biggest defeat in European Cups.... Nuff said... And I seriously hope Cruijf will come forward and say smth to shake things up.... I dont know who to blame. Its 70-30 players coach and after 2 years, they reminded me off the dead meat game we played in the 2004-2007 years when our midfield defence where like from another planet. like they were playing for a differen t team. No isnpiration, no guidance, no passion.... I wont keep going on as there are too many things on my mind... Just want to see some heads rolling till 2011....
May the Force be with you

Of course they are....

They're through the group stage now.

Both players wanted the second yellow to get the red, to sit out the dead rubber, so that they didn't have the yellow hanging over them in the next round.

Typical Mourhinio .... clever, very cynical but clever....

Too bad that the referee was daft enough to give them the second yellow. Should have ignored them.

UEFA should ban them for two games each.

For sure. After the red card the referee shook hands with Ramos which was a very disappointing gesture, in my opinion.

I told you so. A draw : Emanuelson - RM : 2 - 2. :biggrin.gif:
All right. No coach should survive to this CL campaign.
Our tactics are far too predictable. No striking power, no wingers.
I hope Jol will leave at the winter break. And we'll start over.
Danny Blind could replace him till the end of the season.
Appie, stay strong !

Well CL is over for us so let's hope we at least stay third and play the EL.
About the match, i really don't understand Jol and why is he forcing Emanuelson and Siem.
Siem is hardly present in the last games, not useful in offense nor defense. I mean he did score us a lot of goals last season but how much credit can a guy have?
Everybody knows that Urby sucks defensively, but why can't Jol see that? :confused.gif:
With those 2 in play, Enoh is left alone in defense and is bound to make a lot of fouls as he's often outnumbered by the opponent's midfield. And with his passing skills he's also let to be our play maker :drecul.gif:
But there was a good thing in this match for me - didn't get to see Ooijer play :biggthumpup.gif:

Every team needs an Enoh-type player, but that E-t player needs creative players around him. Enoh did Ok-ish I thought, but he can't run a midfield on his own. There is zero creativity in this Ajax midfield, De Jong in particular has been completely anonymous for weeks.

I thought the back four played decently well, and we still lost 0 -4. Men against boys. My only hope now is that we don't qualify for the Europa League, I don't think I could stand the embarrassment.

Uefa is actually investigating those 'red' cards and may ban 'players' for a little longer term.

The 2 of them should be banned longer as they were bringing the game into disrepute. Never been a lover of Real and the fact they have the most pompous scumbag who has ever walked on a field Ronaldo makes me like them even less. Not saying he is not a great footballer but I loath the guy for all his antics.

I cannot see Auxerre getting anything in Madrid and we will get buried in Milan as I imagine old has been Ooijer will be playing again .

I can, if Real put out a reserve team.

I don't see how you can complain about what Real did, they saw a loop-hole in the regulations and took advantage of it. If you don't like it, change the regulations. But you can't change the rules and then prosecute them retroactively.

The gap between us and the current 10 or so top clubs is financial.
While we are struggling to keep our best players past the age of 22, those fat cats can afford to get whoever they want no matter the price.
Football revenues have rocketed from 132 M€ in 1995 to 1 090 M€ in 2009 (centrally generated Champions League revenue). In 2009, the highest total revenue was Real Madrid with 401 M€, and number 20 was Newcastle with 101 M€. Meanwhile Ajax earned 68 M€. The key figure being that Ajax earned 7 M€ only from TV rights due to the narrow domestic market.
As long as there will be no regulations on the number of national players per club, tranfer fees, and huge TV revenues for the happy few, the only advantage for us in the CL will be to get a few M€ in the group stage.

There can be no such legislation Philippe, because to legislate in any of those areas would violate E.U. laws in the fields of competition and the free-flow of capital and labour.
