Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
Just a pathetic performance. Maybe we need to finish in seventh place so Euro football is not a distraction. There is no clue on offense about what to do. Every single team we play is going to play park the bus football and we cannot attack 4 against 6 and expect to magically score goals. This team is going nowhere fast and it is a shame because there is a lot of talent.

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
they had a shot of the ref in the tunnel before the match -- i saw him primping and smoothing his uniform over and over again -- making sure he made a good-looking image for the spectators and i said to myself at the time this kind of ego means nothing but trouble -- turns out i was right.
Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
A very poor game and I wonder why Toby did not get a game after being the best defender at Auxerre. It would not have mattered though . The defeat v Utrecht was easier to explain ie giving away 2 stupid penalties in 10 mins but this was just down to a poor overall performance
Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
This is totally mystifying to me as well. I could not figure out why he was dropped from the starting 11 several weeks ago as his play has been relatively good all season long. I think Jol has some favorites who regardless of their day to day performance will always start (if you ask me Emanuelson has been nothing special over the past five matches or so but is always out there).SPL schreef:A very poor game and I wonder why Toby did not get a game after being the best defender at Auxerre.

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
This team does have talent maybe Jol is not agood enough coach to make them perform. Rijkaard got a very talented bunch of players at Barca to start winning wonder what he could do with this lot. I expect Jol to leave next summer as the team will need a complete rebuild but could we see him go at christmas if things do not pick up?
Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
I think the only way he leaves is through resignation; I don't believe the team can afford to pay his salary particularly if we totally bomb out of Euro football. If that happens we may see significant players moving in January to deal with the financial situation.SPL schreef:I expect Jol to leave next summer as the team will need a complete rebuild but could we see him go at christmas if things do not pick up?

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
fucking unbelievable....
had a bad feeling about this one. good i didn't get up early to watch. just saw the highlights. shit defending. finally it seems we have two decent central defenders and then one of them gets banished to the bench. nothing in the midfield, no creativity (basing this statement on the past 5-6 games). don't think we have money for any purchases in the winter break. lodeiro should be fit, but don't know if that will change things. but hey, dario cvitanich will be back
this team better get something going in the next weeks. az away, and psv at home coming up. the gap is still only 4 points, but if we royally fuck up the next two games, we can again kiss the championship goodbye in the fall. and then a perfect second half with a +50 goal difference will mean shit.
excuse my language.

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
Another post-CL game disaster. Great idea. Let's play a few games in Europe so we can give up the national championship. Genius.
This team doesn't have any basics. Where are the fundamentals on a bad day? What's with the undisciplined and chaotic play? It is impossible to detect any kind of progress in the way the team plays. Jol is clearly out of options. His post-game comments are centered not on Ajax but on himself. That's fine. He is who he is. But let's look ahead at next season. Ajax need a superb football teacher. Somebody who can make each player understand his role precisely, into the minutest detail, as well as give him an exact understanding of the roles of others (so he can take over those positions). You don't need great players at every position. You need players who understand what the f*ck they're doing. Then, even when it's not your day, you can still get a good result if you just stick to the basics.
Until then, do everybody a favor. Stop calling it Ajax. Whatever the f*ck this is, it is most certainly NOT Ajax.

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
I am not expecting Jol to be sacked but just wonder if come Christmas some job in England comes up and he decides to go if things have not picked up.Last season we finished with 14 wins in a row and still couldn't win the title I will be surprised if we can repeat that in the second half of this season .
I would still pick Toby instead of Ooijer although he could play and let Vertonghen play defensive mf.Our midfield has been sadly lacking this season and imo you do not need 2 defensive mfers playing at home and certainly not 3 defensive mf at a defensive minded club like Auxerre. If Urby wants to go ok so let Sulejmani start and see what he can do in 90 mins after all we cannnot keep on just playing a
16m sub. At the end today ADO's sub winger Antonia looked as good as Sulejmani and Urby and quess where he was playing 2 years ago? In our youth team and from memory I do not think he was a regular in the A1.Not saying he was special but he wasn't any worse that a 16m flop in ours.
Last season looked as if we could carry on going forward this season but so far we are going backward and bluntly the buck stops as always with the coach. Can you really say these are bad players after all the rumour press suggests Steks V d Wiel Vertonghen Suarez and El H are all interesting the top 4 or 5 in England .And you can add Eriksen as he would soon be snapped up by them as well.
Az and PSV coming up and that will decide our championship hopes imo ie. we must beat them both and we cannot afford to lose any more games as Twente just do not seem to ever lose and PSV have regrouped this season .

11 tegen 11 has it right on target (and pretty quickly as well): http://11tegen11.wordpress.com/2010/11/ ... -failings/ Maybe we should e-mail Jol the link.

Is the whole season fucked up in no more than 4 days ? JC is asking the people in charge to resign (Cruijff: Ajax-bestuur moet opstappen ). Unless a miracle happens in the CL, I think Jol will leave during the winter break.

the failings against ADO were hardly tactical, but fully technical... touches were bad, passes were bad, shots were bad, etc.

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
But it's been this way all season long. Look at the starting 11 Jol can put on the field. Every player has at one point been capped by their NT and of those Suarez, el Hamdaoui, Vertonghen, Stekelenburg, van der Wiel, and Enoh are in their nation's starting 11 most of the time! What other team in the league can make this claim. Jol is delusional and not taking care of fundamentals.bluedaddy19 schreef:Orange14 schreef:11 tegen 11 has it right on target (and pretty quickly as well): http://11tegen11.wordpress.com/2010/11/ ... -failings/ Maybe we should e-mail Jol the link.

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
seriously, do i really need to go through the list of managers that have tried and failed to bring Ajax success and some decent footie?
After Morten Olsen (and even he has been chastised by some here) we had Wouters, Blind, Koeman (probably the most succesful of the bunch), Koster, TenCate, Van Basten, Westerhof and now Jol... you are hard pressed to find a more diverse assemble of people who couldn't give Ajax some of its glory back.
So, is there still someone who doesn't think that Ajax' decline is much more structural than sacking another coach?
It isn't a coincidence that we loose the race so easily year after year in the first half of the season only to come short after a stronger second part. And we do it against relegation candidates like Excelsior and Ado The Hague.
Quite frankly, unless we can somehow land a deal with Mourinho, i have my doubts we will be able to celebrate that third star any time in the next 5 seasons.

I was recently diagnosed with a stage 4 I don't give a shit, I'm afraid is terminal.
Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
IMO it ‘s a matter of attitude, not of potential.
In the Dutch league, most of our players only think of leaving asap for more money abroad.
In the CL, they are told that they are just kids who are there to learn from older stars.
We need players who care for the club and are here to stay a few years and succeed with Ajax.

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
That used to be the case, but I think that's changed a little bit. Look at Suarez. He's stuck with Ajax a lot longer than he used to. Now that the footballing economy has contracted, I think we'll see fewer players jump ship and those who do, like Urby, will do so after a longer stay with the club.philippe schreef:IMO it ‘s a matter of attitude, not of potential.

Ultimately, I think the problem lies elsewhere, including with Jol, but also with the years of damage done by previous boards and coaches.

Re: 07 Nov 2010: Ajax - ADO Den Haag
To be honest, before these 2 fucking games against those awful teams like auxerre and den haag, I was thinking that Jol has done a good job. Yes, he made some bullshits, like signing some poor players or not rating some others, but he globally gave the idea of knowing what he was doing. and the same goes for the team: in these 2 years he gave me a lot of times the sensation to have a clear idea of what to do on the pitch. not always, but often. very often. Think about it: in the recent past we would NEVER have won two rounds of play-offs in AUGUST. You could say we didn't win the title last year, ok, but sometimes there is someone stronger than you (oh, not tecnically: mentally) and twente last year was that case.
this is what I was thninking before. then came this shit and in a moment we returned to the darkest years.
For me it's not Jol, nor the current board. It's the club that arrives years late in the modern football. And I am not convinced JC would do a miracle here.
