NAC want Wielaert but cannot afford his wages. If he is still here come 31 August I would hope Ajax come to an agreement with someone like NAC and we pay say half of his wages. He is on about 700k so we are talking about paying out 300k .

As for Sno who is on about 1m I can see us paying him until Christmas break at least . With the amount of young midfielders I would hope he does not get picked for the Jong .I believe we had to pay some of his wages last season when he was at Bristol City .

I do not blame either player in any way as Ajax signed them on silly wages . Wielaert will not get paid
that sort of money again and if he is to leave Ajax we will have to pay him some of his wages.

I agree, over the past few years we've had some extremely bad decision making about transfers and player contracts.

That said, I'd rather have them go on loan and have to pay less of their wages, even if it was only say half, then have them rot on the bench and laugh straight to the bank with a full check. Theres a lot of dead weight to cut out, people that never touch the field yet are only wages that would have you think they are starting XI. Good grief.

Things are now happening with Wielaert gone , Aissati likely to go to Vitesse and Sarpong looks like he is off to Real Sociedad . Expect us to loan out Blind Bodul and Donald on the last day .

We thus have 4 big wage earners left who wont get starting places , Sulejmani if he stays will play as sub and Oleguer also . Atouba has along term injury and may not play before Christmas so nothing we can do with him .
That leaves Sno and he has played nil football this summer and we paid half his salary last season whilst on loan, he was listed as earning over 1m euros.I cannot see him going this next week but surely he would take a pay cut to get a regular game as he is 23 with loads of years ahead. We may have to give him a payoff but at least he is our last big problem to get rid of this summer.

What worries me now are the persistent stories that Arsenal are chasing Stekelenberg. Fulham would not give up Schwarzer to the Gunners. I cannot believe that we would sell at this point with no decent replacement given the loss of Vermeer. I hope van den Boog and Jol hold firm on this.

I very much doubt Stek will leave Ajax. He is cup tied for CL games. I would, however, like to see Urby leave for PSV. If we can sell him and Sulejmani. Then we get cash enough to buy like 3 players.

I would say there is nil chance of Arsenal signing Steks . They do not want to pay 4m for the Fulham guy so they wont pay 15m plus for Steks.

I think most loans are for a certain period - 6 months or a year. That's is why we haven't been able to get Padt back from Go Ahead Eagles to fill the 3rd keeper's spot.

But I don't know if that is true 100% of the times.

i think the usual is a set period, but loaned players can be recalled if its in the contractual agreement.

If we win v Kiev then Suarez and Greg will certainly stay but lose and there could be a last minute bid. Mind neither would be able to play CL for their new clubs. Lets just win tomorrow.
