Bruno Silva will from now on refuse to play for FC Groningen...

Would you not want Dwayne De Rosario playing for Ajax? I'd love to see him play for the red and white. I don't think he would cost too much money for his caliber either. Look at the Kakerlaken, they have Jonathan De Guzman from my beloved Toronto.acab schreef:that's why i'm not a scout ;) i just don't want to see americans wearing the Ajax shirt. sorry if this insults you, but it's my oppinion. once again - sorry.
Ummm, Ajax Orlando became Ajax America and then pretty much died... I believe Ajax America still exists as a women's soccer club or something, but Ajax Amsterdam pretty much left the building, so I'm afraid all of that has died a death.cdnajaxfan schreef:There is Ajax Oralando, the first step in their N. Ummm, Ajax did scout in Africa a lot (Ajax Cape Town, but also Ashanti Goldfields from Ghana), but after a few years decided that it did not yield the desired results due to cultural differences. Too many of those boys didn't make it and some of them got in trouble, far away from home.Africa seems to be somewhere we should be scouting better.
Here we go again...i really dont know what to think of this, i mean yeah we could use a couple of players and i would not be mad if we could get Silva but to be honest, this is the second time this has happen this season and its sets a bad example...it sends a messege to every football player that if you want to move abroad you just have to refuse playing for the team, thats very unprofesional and could turn this into a domino effect for us.Kowalczyk schreef:Bruno Silva will from now on refuse to play for FC Groningen...

ajax-erie schreef:THEN AJAX NEEDS TO GET THEIR PLAYERS FROM AMSTERDAM OR WITHIN 15 MILES OF AMSTERDAM-AS THEY DID IN THE PAST THAT WAY WE CAN KEEP IGNORANT,TALENTLESS BULGARIANS OUT OF THE AJAX SQUADno. but i'm sure that there are 100 like him in holland, afrika or here in bulgaria. but if you saying the guy is very good, ok. no problem, but i personelly think that Ajax don't need to search for players in the states. we have enough talanted boys here in europe
I'LL WILL NOT STOP WEARING MY AJAX SHIRT-I WILL WEAR MY AJAX HAT,AJAX BADGE,AND HANG MY AJAX FLAG,AND I WILL CONTINUE TO TAPE AJAX MATCHES SO I CAN WATCH THOSE MATCHES WITH A FORMER AJAX PLAYER,THAT HAS TOLD ME AND HIS FRIENDS THAT THIS AMERICAN AJAX SUPPORTER IS ONE OF MOST PASSIONATE,KNOWLEDGABLE AJAX SUPPORTER HE HAS MET OR KNOWN IN THE USA-GO FIGURE AN AMERICANi just don't want to see americans wearing the Ajax shirt.
IF AN AMERICAN WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY FOR AJAX I WOULD SAY SO,BUT IS THAT AMERICAN(BRADLEY)GOOD ENOUGH,I DO NOT KNOWthat's why i'm not a scout
I'M NOT A SCOUT,I SUPPORT AFC AJAX.
Edit: No insults aimed directly 'at the man', please... Also: could you please press CapsLock before typing your next post? Thanks.
I agree about it not exactly sending the best message for players. However if what is in the SportingLife article is true, I'm not sure Groningen is setting a very good precedent either. Take the following:Venezuelan Ajacied schreef: Here we go again...i really dont know what to think of this, i mean yeah we could use a couple of players and i would not be mad if we could get Silva but to be honest, this is the second time this has happen this season and its sets a bad example...it sends a messege to every football player that if you want to move abroad you just have to refuse playing for the team, thats very unprofesional and could turn this into a domino effect for us.
If that is true, it's kind of a shitty thing to do to a player. If the club is willing to let him go at a set price, it is a little dubious to not follow through on that just because the club doesn't like which club has taken an interest in their player. I understand Groningen's position of not wanting to lose a player to a rival, but I can understand why Silva wouldn't want to play for them anymore if he and Groningen agreed he could leave for 2m Euro, but they then go back on that if that is indeed the situation here. The Sporting Life schreef: "First they wanted two million euros for him and then 2.5million. When it became clear that Ajax was willing to pay that fee, the transfer was all of a sudden a taboo subject.
If that is true then its a diferent story and a very selfish act by the guys in green and white....hmmm, I wonder if the strange trasnfer of Suarez in the summer has something to do with it....gordonvandekamp schreef:I agree about it not exactly sending the best message for players. Wow, is it really dead that fast? That is too bad. Too bad we have largely given up on Africa as well. I guess I should check the facts beforehand sometimes.Kowalczyk schreef:Ummm, Ajax Orlando became Ajax America and then pretty much died... Tststst. Wear your shirt whenever you want. i sed, that i don't want to see players in Ajax-shirt, not fans.
15mln for Engelaar - dream on Twente! I say don't waste our time with him, let's find a decent center-back!philippe schreef:De kans dat Orlando Engelaar wordt gecontracteerd door Ajax lijkt klein nu FC Twente een astronomisch bedrag heeft gevraagd voor de middenvelder
chances to see Engelaar move to Ajax are small due to ridiculous demand by Twente : 15 M€.
btw do we really need another midfielder?
I do remeber Silva scoring against ajax in the play off final in 2005, I recall him being somewhat slow but with good positioning and crosses....kind of like Grygera was at the right back position. I dont think this means Ogararu out..it just means that they will have to fight for the position harder...thats a good thing.SPL schreef:No body seems to reat this Silva guy that high, I just wonder if he is going to be any better than Ogararu?
PS Do I take it we will now sell Ogararu?
NO!!!! He's 28 years old and flopped at a Belgian topclub. He is just mediocre, just as Silva is...SPL schreef:Evidently we offered 3m euros for Engelaar but it is reported that somewhere about 8m euros would possibly get him!!
Would we want him and is he worth that amount???

yeah it went fast, but in the short time they did produce a couple of interesting prospects, central midfielder dax mccarty and defender nathan sturgis, both MLS pros who played for the US at the U20 world cup last summercdnajaxfan schreef:

It's probably true. Is my gut feeling, anyway. I expect official confirmation at some point today.Cedric_AeF schreef:De Telegraaf announce that Silva signed/will sign for 4,5 years. Don't know what to think...
