heck, we could have several young yanks linked soon if verbeek does come over from h'veen... word is he would bring bradley along with him and he has twice tried to buy feilhaber (speaking of young #10's)
when i hear about "young US something" i start to warrie. No, serious. But antway, the boys are wellcome, it would be easy for them, Admirals are still paying on the ArenA, dont they?

who said Jaakke did nothing ?
Voorzitter John Jaakke heeft Clarence Seedorf gevraagd of hij een terugkeer naar Ajax ziet zitten.
he asked Clarence Seedorf if he wanted to return to Ajax, a wise move ain't it ?

Actually, Im not sure why you are laughing. Seedorf is still an extremely talented footballer with more experience than this entire Ajax side put together. We could do worse (and probably will).

no. but i'm sure that there are 100 like him in holland, afrika or here in bulgaria. but if you saying the guy is very good, ok. no problem, but i personelly think that Ajax don't need to search for players in the states. we have enough talanted boys here in europe

He's an unusually good player who would likely come pretty cheap. Ajax need to do better in the scouting department, and that includes looking at places like the U.S., Africa, Asia and South America where you can find good good players without breaking your budget.
What's so wrong with that?

I agree there is a whole lot of talent in other parts of the world that could be discovered and bought for the price we bought Colin for...where is our scouting by the way ?? Since we bought Zlatan....Trabelsi....Mido.....and Maxwell we have not bought a solid player scouted by us.....Huntelaar and Suarez were scouted by other teams....

As you may have read or heard: Ajax are reportedly after Bruno Silva, Uruguayan right fullback of FC Groningen.
We once again want a Uruguayan Groningen player and it seems like history will repeat itself: Ajax knocked on Groningen's door, Groningen told Ajax that the player will absolutely not be sold in January - and the player was so disappointed with this that he didn't show up for training and has threatened Groningen that he will take the case to court.
Another Martin van Geel vs. Hans Nijland boxing game, so it seems...
Remember last time, Ajax actually lost the KNVB case, but Groningen agreed to Suarez's transfer hours after that verdict. That case, obviously, provided a precedent for similar cases, like this one. Suarez lost his case; Silva will probably lose his.
And Ajax will end up paying a lot of money, if they really want him.
I never paid special attention to Bruno Silva, so I have no idea how good he is.
I want to echo the sentiments of Venezuelan Ajacied: we always buy people like Huntelaar, Suarez and possibly Silva for a shitload of money, because other clubs scouted them first. Why is that? We have to discover our Maxwells and Trabelsi's before other people do! They didn't cost us jack at the time. This situation is the same within The Netherlands, by the way. The name of Twente defender Edson Braafheid has been mentioned. We could have bought him from Utrecht at the time, but now he's drawing everybody's attention at Twente. If we buy him now, he will be expensive.
Scouting department: wake-up call!

Totally agree regarding recent scouting. It seems the scouts haven't looked past other Eredivisie or Jupiler League teams over the past few years, with the exception of ten Cate who brought in all those amazing signings from Spain and the English Coca-Cola Championship.
I agree that with the benefits of scouting earlier. By the time a player has reached that level, and especially if it is Ajax that comes calling to that club to sell a player, we're not going to get a deal. If anything, we'll pay more because it's Ajax and the club selling the player will do what Groningen has done (and appears will do) again.
Is it just me, or does there seem to be very little coming from the youth side? To me it almost seems like most of our youth players are a year or two away from making significant contributions (de Jong aside). It's almost as if they didn't bring anyone in for a few years after the last group with Sneijder/Babel/etc.

My impression from reading the Dutch language forums is that there isn't a lot of enthusiasm for buying Silva.
I think there are some decent youth players (de Jong, vd Wiel, Donald, vd Heijden), but Ajax have always bought players to augment these guys (Blind, Litmanen, etc). We just need to be smart and find value instead of relying on other clubs to do our scouting for us and pay a premium.

Our youth system does seem to concentrate on local lads, you can count on 1 hand the non Dutch going through the system at present. Looking at the first team we only have 5 Dutch Internationals,6 if you count Davids. The only 2 who have come through in the last 2/3 years are Urby and Maduro.
Current youngsters like VDWeil, De Jong, Donald,VdHeijden along with Sarpong and Anita all look very promising and Rodney Sneijder, aged 16,and Daley Blind ,17, are talked of also so we do have some coming through .
We do need to scout further afield .It was not long ago that we picked up Trabelsi, Maxwell and Chivu for next to nothing.

We offering 8 mln. euros for Defour. And looks like Maduro is definitely leaving this summer/winter?..

Dutch reports state we are looking at Ragnar Klavan Estonian leftback at Heracles and Velthuizen the Vittesse goalie.Having told Spurs where to go with Urby I cannot believe we would sell Steks to them this month.

At my local club Worthing we have an Estonian fan, he worked there for awhile and follows their football. I mentioned Klavan and he said he is a good defensive left back and probably Estonias best player.

Um, what kind of bollocks is that...? I don't think anyone in Amsterdam particularly anyone hated John O'Brien at the time...
Pardon my French, but that really is a load of shit.

THEN AJAX NEEDS TO GET THEIR PLAYERS FROM AMSTERDAM OR WITHIN 15 MILES OF AMSTERDAM-AS THEY DID IN THE PAST THAT WAY WE CAN KEEP IGNORANT,TALENTLESS BULGARIANS OUT OF THE AJAX SQUAD
i just don't want to see americans wearing the Ajax shirt.
I'LL WILL NOT STOP WEARING MY AJAX SHIRT-I WILL WEAR MY AJAX HAT,AJAX BADGE,AND HANG MY AJAX FLAG,AND I WILL CONTINUE TO TAPE AJAX MATCHES SO I CAN WATCH THOSE MATCHES WITH A FORMER AJAX PLAYER,THAT HAS TOLD ME AND HIS FRIENDS THAT THIS AMERICAN AJAX SUPPORTER IS ONE OF MOST PASSIONATE,KNOWLEDGABLE AJAX SUPPORTER HE HAS MET OR KNOWN IN THE USA-GO FIGURE AN AMERICAN
that's why i'm not a scout
IF AN AMERICAN WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY FOR AJAX I WOULD SAY SO,BUT IS THAT AMERICAN(BRADLEY)GOOD ENOUGH,I DO NOT KNOW
I'M NOT A SCOUT,I SUPPORT AFC AJAX.
