Or maybe he would suck because he belongs at PSV and the system they're using there suits his skills better. It's all a matter of environment.

True, but he was settled at Ajax. He helped the team in most games he played, and generally scored.

He wouldve been Sneijder's perfect replacement but meh..

Wesley Sneijder was brilliant in his last year, but we always had our doubts in earlier seasons. Do you remember why?

Because Sneijder didn't defend. He used to think offensively and refused to do any dirty work when Ajax lost the ball. What made him brilliant in his last season was the fact that he lost a bit of weight, did loads of powertraining and running, and actually became a very dynamic, energetic and hard-working midfielder, who kept racing around, was surprisingly strong for someone his height and more than willing to tackle and win the ball back.

It was Sneijder's final step to the top. He made it - and won himself a 27 million euro transfer to Real Madrid.

As much as I like Perez; he doesn't do that. He is stand-offish in duels and doesn't 'shift back' from his offensive to his defensive mode. I would guess that he runs only half the distance that Sneijder runs during a game. With Perez in Sneijder's place we would have had the old problems back: the problems in midfield that we used to have with the (slightly lazy) Sneijder from before 2006.

Kenneth Perez is an true 'artist', but he must be played as a forward or as a creative central midfielder on a four-man (!) midfield (rather than a three-man midfield). In other words: the perfect PSV player, I'm afraid...

Like I said earlier, just becaue he's "good" for PSV right now doesn't mean he would have been that good for us.

With how many goals? To be honest I don't even know the figures as I haven't been following Ajax results for like a year (or even more). Yet , as a scientist I reckon that being second doesn't mean much if the top scorer scores like 10 goals in the season.

mistake to correct: Perez was our number 3 scorer behind kjh and sneijder.

Perez scored 13 goals in 32 games. Very impressive when you consider many of his games were as substitute with very little playing time.

Note: top scorer Huntelaar 36 goals in 51 games
-------2nd top scorer Sneijder 20 goals in 43 games

I really dont understand why we are actually wasting inches and inches of space on Perez. Fine some people rated him but there are also a lot of us who didnt rate him as an Ajax player or as a human being for that matter.

Since I have began watching Ajax there are players I have been sad to see leave - Shota, Zlatan, Rafael, Wesley, Christian, Ryan even big Yannis but am not bothered about Perez and I would rather be reading about them as ex-Ajax players than have to read about Perez continually.

That's really quite bad - a couple of years back it happened in the English FA Cup too with Bury but you'd have thought PSV would have been above this . This is maybe even more embarrassing than our cup performance which I thought would take some beating......
