Erwin Koeman has left the building... He resigned.
Names linked with Feyenoord: Co Adriaanse and Mario Been. It would be seriously bad news if they somehow manage to lure Co to Rotterdam, as there is a serious risk that he will actually make them a (much) better team...
Fortunately though, Co is an Amsterdammer and an Ajax man, so the fans absolutely hate him (almost as much as they hate Louis van Gaal). I was reading an F-Word forum the other day and they're all telling each other how much they hate Co, and how they don't want Feyenoord to sign another Yid, etc. In the current situation I don't think the club will have the guts to sign a head-coach who will be hated from the start. Co can never start with a clean sheet over there. His credit would be 'minus 100'.
Instead, they'll go for Mario Been, an old fan hero at De Kuip who will have all the credit in the world. He's currently coaching NEC Nijmegen and he's not much of a threat. Been is in the Erwin Koeman category: a good man, but not a visionary who can 'heal' the club. Mario Been would be good news.
And it would be even better news if Ronald Koeman and Jan Wouters stay at PSV.

I read on another forum that Beenhakker is being brought back to coach F&*^$$#@ in the playoffs. Can anyone confirm?

Yep. He will coach them during the play offs, but it's out of the question that he'll also be their coach next year.

I don't know where to post this but it seems rather embarrassing :
"Ajax beloofde Excelsior premie"
Ajax promised to pay a bonus to Excelsior players in case they won against AZ, right ?
I'm not sure this would be really fair and legal, and this is pretty pathetic in the end : Ajax would pay for PSV to be champion....

PSV do not offer contract extensions to Kluivert and Reiziger. Interesting where Patrick will go now..

There was some talk he may head to Oz, but I think he would be more up to continuing his career in Europe before going into semi-retirement in Australia.
Cocu has been given 2 weeks to decide if he will goto Sydney FC or not btw...

He stated he wanted to go to Ajax because: ''Ajax is the only club I want to play for in Holland'' Where was he then with his mind last season? Did he think PSV was Ajax or something?

But still, I have to admit that this does something to me.. :00000620.gif:

An update on this one...
Firstly, it would
not have been illegal. It's illegal to pay your opponent, so that they will let you win. But it is
not illegal to promise the players of another club money so that they will hopefuly try even harder. It's not a very stylish thing to do, but the KNVB would have had no official rule to punish Ajax with.
Secondly, both Ajax and Excelsior have stated that the whole story is untrue and the Excelsior player who said it (Braber) later said that this whole thing is a misunderstanding. He said it to a journalist, as a joke, but then some
other journalist published it in print - and all of a sudden it looked serious.
Case closed. All bollocks.

Promotion/relegation play-offs!
The first legs of the final round have been played:
RBC Roosendaal vs Excelsior 1-1
VVV-Venlo vs RKC Waalwijk 2-0
Mind you: this is not a 'European' knock-out round, but a 'best-of-three' encounter. For example: if both teams win a leg (regardless of the final score) there will be a third match.
Doesn't look good for RKC Waalwijk...

I just read, that after the friendly match VV Acht-PSV (1-7) Jan Kromkamp has been beaten up by 3 or 4 persons.
Anyone have heard anything about that?

Translated: AZ contracted the Brazilian striker Ari for next season. Ariclenes da Silva Ferreira (21) wil join on the first of july, comming from the swedish club Kalmar FF. Last season Ari was top scorer of the swedish competition, with 15 goals. Ari signed a contract for 5 years, until 2012...
Also this season he is one of the highlights in the swedish competition! I think this is really good for the eredivisie, but the good thing for us is that he will have to play for his club until the 25th of june, giving him only 10 day's of rest
ps, he already trained with the Brazilian national selection.

I saw on Sky Sports News that Shota Arveladze is retiring from the Georgian Nat Team to concentrate on his career at AZ . Good luck , not v. Ajax mind you , to a player I always enjoyed watching.
As for PSV signings , I'm sure the new player is good ,but you had to figure they wouldn't suddenly go to hell even if Farfan , Alex, and Cocu depart the scene. Like Ajax, they know how to build a roster.

They did when Hiddink was in charge (didn't he also have a lot of influence over purchases?).
With Koeman at the helm, I suspect that we'll see a difference.
Who knows, maybe we'll see Wesley Sonck or Tom Soetaers in Eindhoven.

Sadly, PSV seems to have the roster part down pretty well in recent years. Witness the shields lifted. Ajax has been more one-season lightning (01-02 or o3-04).
That said ,I am ecstatic at a number of moves of recent years : we finally found our short term backline leader after Chivu ( Stam) , bought real midfield teeth ( Gabri ,Davids ) , bought a true # 9 target man ( Hunter) , and have tried to shore up the wings. Hopefully, Kennedy will help do what Soetaers, Sikora, Rosales, and De Mul couldn't.

There's no doubt that Martin van Geel knows what he is doing. I can't argue with the great majority of moves he's made so far.
Like I said, I'm not so optimistic about the direction P$V is going. I think (hope) that the second half of this past season is an indicator of what is in store for the lightbulbs in the near term.
To be frank, AZ worries me as much or possibly more than P$V next season.

The one team that really worries me next season is ...................

as we seem to have the ability to through it all away when it should be a stroll in the park for a squad with so much skill and experience to pick from.

To be fair, Aissati, and I think Bakkal and another one are contracted with them, but sure, it doesn't look good...
