I know that Grygera is normally right fullback for his country, but for some reason I don't like him on that position. He's never been good as a fullback for Ajax (probably because a fullback is expected to be more offensive at Ajax).

I think Grygera/Vermaelen should be our central partnership for the future and we must buy a new right fullback to replace Trabelsi. This must be a good one.

Heitinga may be sold, for all I care (but it's not going to happen, because it seems to be officially against the law to not believe in him at Ajax... this is only allowed if the player is a foreign purchase).

Dont Knock Johnny Heitinga...he will come good, I dont like Vermaelen, he craps his pants in dangerous situations. I agree that we need to focus on the right back situation. Its going to be difficult to sign Yulian Yenner (thats how you pronounce it in dutch I think) his contract runs out in 2007, so they will want to keep him until the summer 2006. Forget about Majastrovic, send him to PSV, he is no the Ajax type of player, if we are looking for a centre back, lets try and sign Stam at the end of the season.

Actually, his first name is English and most Dutchies would pronounce it thay way, too. His second name is Dutch, though, so the pronounciation would be Julian Yenner.

I was just thinking...do we really need to sign a right back, we have Jesper Kok in the youth ranks coming through he is 19 or 20, I believe.

But are you sure that he is able to be first-squad player and good replacement for Trabelsi now? Isn't he only hot prospect player at the moment? We are in, let's say, not very good situation, so we need experienced player for now, not for the future. So I am for buying any onther players.

I think you are right....but there isnt a rightback I can think of that I can consider that would be viable to obtain his signiture....maybe this calls for Van Geel to start scouting across europe and South/North America for one, but please no africans, they havnt a clue how to defend, ok so Trabelsi is african, name me five decent african defenders, I can only name Toure and Trabelsi thats it.

Feyenoord just released US international Cory Gibbs when he came back after an injury because they filled his spot while he was out. He is a great defender that can score as well (1 for F-word in 15 games). The reasons are:1) He is an experienced defender 2) He has experience in the Eredivisie 3)He has a work permit already for The Netherlands 4)He is healthy again 5)He was released so it would cost Ajax nothing to sign him 6)His wages shouldn't be outragous 7)We need an international quality defender 8)He is 26 so he is not too young or old. Any comments?

I don't think it will be good choice... It will be better to sign someone, who is better in offensive actions (type of Trabelsi or Kromkamp). On the other side- better to have Gibbs than no-one. If it's possible and if he wants to play in Ajax- why not...

Training news today suggests that in addition to Schilder and presumably Sarpong,who have been training with the 1st team, Yildrim, Martini,Boayke and Timisela were all training with the firsts today. Schider, Boayke and Timisela have all been playing regularly in defence with the Jong Ajax team this season.

I imagine that this will only be short term as we appear to have only 15 fit first teamers at present and both Yannis and Boukhari could be off before then.!!

we are in the CL and a fight to move up the table, they simply have to bring some quality in this week

Midfield will now be Sneijder Maduro and Emanuelson with Galasek, who it appears has just said he is going in the summer, Lindenbergh and Boukhari.

Although Sarpong is training with the firsts he has hardly played for the reserves. The 2 regular midfielders for the Jong team are Tiberkannine and Sahadewsing. Both are in their 2nd years in that team but the fact they are not training with the first team suggests they are not good enough. So it does not look as if there is anyone to promote at present.

Will be surprised if we buy anyone in the next 5 days.

in this season he has 1 goals and 1 yellow card

I must say that i am quite surprised we have off-loaded so many players and that we still (like always) have not been able to find decent replacement´s to fill in. I mean we still have tha champions league and the play-off.

PS: I watched Tiberkanine in the U-20 championships and did not look bad, i would like to see him have a shot in the first team at least as a sub in couple of game's.

I have never seen him ,just against Ajax ,but if you say he is good...I belive..

But I think a rightback is more important right now

Majstorovic is a dirty player. What I cant understand is how come our scounts are not attending the african nations cup....I mean what happened to our Nigerian link?
