YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The last 30 minutes or so were absolute fucking torture  .... was shitting myself in case those buggers knicked another goal.
This game should have been done and dusted by half time. P$V were never in it during a first 45 in which Denneboom terrorised their defenders. It could easily have been 5 or 6 nil for NEC in that period.

Whilst having lunch I was reading the history behind AZ on
www.az.nl and wondered how far they stretched the list of teams so that they could be included. The italics and bold print is mine and not AZ emphasising the point.
"The financial injections of the Molenaar brothers heralded a successful period, that reached great heights at the end of the 1970s. In the period leading up to that, the club had gradually acquired the players that would put AZ on the map. First, there were Kees Kist and Kristen Nygaard in 1972 and 1973, respectively. Subsequent years saw the arrival of such players as Ronald Spelbos, Hugo Hovenkamp, Peter Arntz, Johnny Metgod, Jan Peters, Pier Tol, Eddy Treijtel, Bert van Marwijk, Willem van Hanegem and the Austrian forward Kurt Welzl. George Kessler was the coach
and created what may well have been one of the best club teams in the history of professional football. "

*LOL*
One of the best club teams in the history of professional football... That's why they won
one Dutch Eredivisie championship and lost the UEFA Cup final...
If a claim like this one would be published on Ajax.nl it would be another reason for AZ fans to hate us with a vengeance and call us arrogant, etc.
Nice club, great team at the moment, but sometimes they are a bit blinded by the light.

Okay, I didn't watch Liverpool vs p$v yesterday evening, but from what I've read they will return to Holland relatively satisfied. They didn't get the 'good result' they were hoping for, but they looked fairly solid, they had a few chances and they didn't get stuffed again. Also: no damage, no injuries. In other words: no good news for Ajax fans. :D
It gives me a very good feeling that the weekend (and the next Eredivisie matchday) will start tomorrow, but that AZ still have to play a very tough and very important European away fixture at Werder Bremen. They will give everything over there and Bundesliga sides will always give you a hard time physically, so I have a pretty good feeling about their match against Vitesse this weekend. I have a feeling that they might drop two points.
I don't have a good feeling about p$v, though... We have given them one week too many to pick themselves out of the gutter. I fear that they will beat Twente and make no more mistakes after that.
Oh well; never say never. Let's just wait and see.

Fantastic strike from Dembele ... 1:1 in Bremen. Get intae them, AZ :D
Shite - 2:1 Bremen on 36 mins.
Stupid Mike Riley disallows a perfectly good AZ goal ... what a fu*king tube.
Final score: 4:1 Bremen.
AZ were better than the scoreline suggests. They would have been level going into the second half but for Mike Riley's fuck up. :pukey:
That little shit Diego is one fantastic footballer.

Sure is. AZ played well but the end result would be a real blow to morale.
Koeman claims that Alex may be fit in time for the last games of the season. Goddamit.

They were
sooo proud when Werder manager Thomas Schaaf said that AZ are "10% better than Ajax"... but in the end they lost 4-1 on aggregate. Our result was 4-3 and in the end we crashed out because of that one poxy Werder goal in the ArenA.
Just a detail. Let's finish higher than them in the league
and hammer them in the cup final. That will teach them.
Koeman claims that Alex may be fit in time for the last games of the season. Goddamit.
Doesn't really matter. He won't be there tomorrow, for PSV vs Twente, and that's the game in which they will have to drop the points. If they don't do it tomorrow, they surely won't do it against Utrecht and Vitesse.
Indeed: I am not very optimistic (anymore). PSV dropped 18 points since the winter break, so it could easily have been
our season. We've had our chances: against Excelsior, against Heerenveen - and we could have leapfrogged them against RKC, with three games left to play. Our chance was last Sunday and we fucking wasted it. Will we get another one...? It's still possible, of course, but I'm not counting on it. We've helped PSV back on their feet, is what I fear.

AZ were certainly better in Bremen than we were. They were a little unlucky; especially with the disallowed goal. However, they certainly are not better than Ajax. They have been better in European competition , but I think we played the better footbal in our two Eredivisie enounters( one with 10 men) this season.
As to P$V: what use are feet if you've lost your head :D I think they will continue to struggle.

Well now rports say Afellay, Mendez and Kromkamp are to return. With first team players coming back, and a "sold" performance against Liverpool awhile ago PSV might set things right.
