finnan can be displaced, he has lost and regained his spot several times

When Finnan has lost his spot it has been due to injury, but every time he recovered he regained his spot immediately.

We need more than a new striker though.

I was just looking at the available squad for the period to mid Feb ie next 6 league games. Not taking into account selling anyone.

KJH makes our first team squad 27( not including Sarpong or Boayke)

Of these 27 Maxwell, Mitea and Vermeer are long term injuries and Manuchariyan probably wont be fit before early Feb.

The African Nations means Bouhkari Trabelsi and Pienaar will not be here for that period ( in fact 2 of them may never return if sold.) so we now have a squad of 20 which includes 5 strikers and 3 goalies.

Of that max 20 Escude and Lobont will go if only on loan and De Jong could well be sold. So we could start on the 15th v NEC with a max of 17 players
of which Sneijder is banned for the game and Maduro may not be fit ie. 15 players of which 5 are strikers. What a mess!!

Finally coming to the point we have needed another experienced defender and midfielder all season and now our squad is reduced even further we need to get more new players in those positions. I have not mentioned we have only one fit winger Rosales ( Porto have made an offer of 2m Euros today for him)

Do not see us buying anybody else very much so I fear we are going to continue struggling in the second half, even with KJH.

Our reserves are not doing well and there does not seem to be any obvious candidates to be promoted. Sarpong is not ready yet having barely played for the reserves.

At least it will mean that Blind has to stop this outrageous 442 insult

I found the 433 football they were playing fairly insulting too.

In the beginning of the season they played 433 quite well. Untill the game in Eindhoven against PSV. The problem was that they were not scoring any goals. We lost 3 awaygames in a row with 1-0. The confidence was poor as a result of not scoring. Away against Prague for example, however weak Praque may be, Ajax played a great match

Anyway: don't ask these things to me but to Van Geel, IF they really met.

Personally I think we have other holes in the squad to fill rather than in defence at this moment: LW, RB e RM, for example. Stam is not a piority, that's for sure.
The fact i posted the news is not synonimous that I liked it.

I wouldn't think about it more than two seconds. It would be great to have a player like Stam in defence.

There is no way that they are going to sign Stam, he would raise the average age of the team.

For the record, what I meant was a joke (should have used an emoticon) along the lines of A. I certainly didn't mean B. I would never insult you like that and I'm sorry if you took it that way -- the entire post was meant as a joke.

And while I'm not a big fan of the way most Italian teams play, I don't have any problems with Italians in general and i assume that they know more about footie than I do.

I agree that while it would be great to have Stam, we need wingers more than we need a central defender.

Although I wouldn't be above trying Stam as a winger. He can't be worse than Boukhari. :D
