Wow, I agree it is a miracle that we could find someone to take him. More than anything, I'm glad we're rid of him.

The only thing that makes me even more confused is why van Basten extended his contract and then sold him. Unfortunately it doesn't give me much confidence in his management (although the extension in the first place didn't help).

I'm just ready for the season to roll on without him so we can see what kind of results we're looking at in real competition.

I don't find this transfer really surprising. The guy knew he wasn't a star (and never was), didn't have a big salary and understood he had no more futur at Ajax. He was thus really keen to find a new club, and there's still a number of clubs willing to get a player who's not up to the Ajax (supporter's) standards.

I will be more surprised when Luque (or Perez if he lose his case) will find out a new club (if they ever find while still contracted with Ajax).

So one gone and only Ten to go .The fact that he should have gone in June at the end of his contract is neither here nor there!

I take it that as he had a 2 year deal with us and he has signed only for Gijon for 1 year we will have paid him off?? I take it he is not coming back in a years time ???

I fear getting rid of Luque will be a little harder.

We have all had a go at Colin but he did give his best for us and it was not his fault that he was not good enough and most people knew that when he signed.I do wish him all the best in Spain.
