Ahh, okay. When I saw the replay I was only focusing on the ball and the line. What is the belly?

I do love to quote myself :D NL Radio 1 have regular updates - that's cool
Do you understand Dutch?
Not really but enough to follow the radio broadcast. Having watched/listened to a lot of Dutch football broadcasts you tend to get most of what's going on........

We need an away goal to fight to the next round. We are so unlucky today with referee showing no card to Wome for his foul against Stam and allowing the goal he just couldnt see.

According to the statistics online, total shots right now are 26-3 in favor of Bremen. I'm not watching... but those numbers make it sound like we're getting destroyed.

what the fuck really... I was expecting a tight match but 3-0... and we're lucky that its just 3-0... Maduro had a great oppourtunity to score but that was almost our only chance to score... bremen has hit two posts and one crossbar... Are we really this far from other top teams in europe? X'C

Only 3-0. This looked like an Ajax - Feijenoord. At least Werder showed us the same mercy that we've been giving our friends from Rotterdam.

I don't agree at all. Lindenbergh should not have received a second yellow card, he hardly touched the German player.. And on the second goal, the ball was not in. So
it's 99% the referee, a crook.
And after that Ajax collapsed, no game on the wings. No speed.
Another painful evening in Europe.

You are very kind, philippe. But it could have been 3-0 already before Olaf was sent off. And, for a while, it went quite well after his expulsion.

At least now we can just focus on the Eredivisie. I'd just go ahead and concede the next game against Bremen. Play some of the reserves, and guys like Maduro who need the work, against them at the ArenA. Pool everything into catching and passing PSV while holding off AZ. :shithappens:

The one mainly to blame is ten Cate for his selection of players and his shitty formation, they were all over the place. He needs to own up, fucking Kankerman

I don't agree, Ayman. My squad would have looked different too but I don't have the illusion it would have gone much better. Werder was/is better then us at the moment.

Bremen flurry floors ten-man Ajax
Werder Bremen made amends for a dip of form in the Bundesliga by wearing down ten-man Ajax for a convincing victory in Wednesday's UEFA Cup Round of 32 first-leg tie.
Making merry
After successive domestic defeats left them six points off the pace in the German title race, Bremen made the most of Ajax midfielder Olaf Lindenbergh's first-half dismissal thanks to second-half strikes from Per Mertesacker, Naldo and Torsten Frings.
Missed opportunities
The Dutch side were always facing an uphill struggle once Lindenbergh had received his second yellow card within the space of three minutes, following a trip on Frings, 24th minutes into this Weserstadion encounter. Bremen immediately spurned the chance of the breakthrough when no one applied the finishing touch to a fine Miroslav Klose cross. Ryan Babel was equally wasteful after Wesley Sneijder's good work had created the opening for Ajax.
Floodgates open
It was the visitors who were left to rue their profligacy three minutes after the break when Mertesacker struck after Ajax keeper Maarten Stekelenburg had parried Jurica Vranješ' attempt following a corner. One became two soon after, Naldo's header from a Frings corner being adjudged to have crossed the line. Naldo then nodded wide from an easier opportunity, before Ajax's Hedwiges Maduro forced a fine save from Tim Wiese. The icing on the cake for Thomas Schaaf's men came on 71 minutes when Frings converted Klose's inviting cross, despite the best efforts of defender Johnny Heitinga. Ajax were relieved to see a Diego attempt rebound off a post, leaving the deficit at 3-0 going into next week's return.

Wow. I don't remember having lost like this to a German side.
Not much left internationally of the once proud soccer nation.

I know you're saying something in German there.
But unless you're a woman with a sexy voice, that language is all Greek to me.
