Hmm,
I'm not sure it's all that well still. It's sent me 22 copies of the same "News Notification" E-Mail in the last 40 minutes or so (I thought I'd suddenly become Mr Mega-Popular - 22 e-mails in the last hour - wow :cheer: !).......

You ARE that popular!
Actually, sounds like the notification-mailer was constipated and then... whoosh!
If you continue to get multiple notifications, please let us know ASAP.

OK, will do. There's 5 more since last post but I'll switch off for the night soon and have another look in the morning.

It's a cold Saturday and a quiet one for me, so I sat down and updated Ajax USA.
There's a bunch of new news links on the homepage, including interesting reads on the official websites of The Times (report on the Ajax vs Feyenoord rivalry) and UEFA (a new installment in Zdenek Grygera's UEFA.com diary). Also, I put up a new quote (from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar) and I published two new news reports.
A few thingies for you to check out. We're totally up-to-date again. :hypocrite:

A great read guys.Sums up most of our thoughts about this great club.

Your most memorable moment?
Jim:
Our 1994 trip was especially great, for three reasons: (1) I got to meet Jari Litmanen. (2) John O'Brien came down to Soccer World and hung out with our group for half an hour; pure class. (3) We witnessed an epic victory over PSV, and it was also my older son Sean's first Ajax game, on his first trip to Amsterdam. What a way to start!
Leaving aside the fact that this was on the '04 trip, I have to say that hanging out with John O'Brien was pretty fucking cool.
By the way, great interview guys.
Edited to add:
Jim, you said you couldn't think of any American players that would fit in well at Ajax. I would say that there are a few: Onyewu, Convey and Dempsey all have the potential to play for Ajax. And Donovan has the skills. If he could get his mind right, I think Donovan would fit in well in the Sneijder role (if Sneijder wasn't there).

Ha! I corrected that in email, but I guess he didn't catch that update. I'll ask him to do so.

I will defer to your expertise. I like all three of the players you mention a lot, just haven't seen enough of them to really assess their quality. I don't watch much MLS (at least since the Quakes buggered off to Houston), so I only see them in US Nats action.

Donovan I rate very highly, and Convey too. Onyewu just seems like a big solid chap to me- I'm not convinced he'd be good enough with the ball at feet for Ajax.

As you may have noticed I've been a bit of a flake in recent weeks...

No time for the Werder Bremen match reports, delayed news reports, etcetera.
But I've done a lot of work on Ajax USA in the past two days and the arrears have
almost been made up.
Now up on Ajax USA:
Werder Bremen vs Ajax match report
News report on the KNVB Cup semi against RKC
ajax vs SC Heerenveen match report
'Leo tears ACL' news report
'Rosales to River Plate' news report
Plenty of pretty good stuff to read, if you like old news... :D ;)
And I also wrote the March 1992 installment for
15 Years Ago. That will be published by Jim (with cool pictures!) later today. The last thing I still have to write it the match report of the return leg against Werder. After that, we'll be totally up-to-date again (and our archives complete).
Just thought I'd update you.

Ajax USA appears to be down at the moment... I do not know what's wrong, but Jim is on it, so we hope to get the site back up soon!
Thanks for your patience.

Is this a really bad excuse for still not having done April 1992? ;)

Club Profiles are go!

The Eredivisie club profiles on Ajax USA are ready for the new season. I edited, updated and sometimes re-wrote them all. Also, we dug up the De Graafschap profile, added some new pictures to it and updated it. Finally, I wrote an entirely new one for VVV-Venlo.
It's quite an operation every summer, but they're ready for yet another new season.

Gross understatement. I think we Ajax USA junkies sometimes fail to appreciate what a good thing we have here. Ko is a first-class writer who loves Ajax, and he writes amazing, original content for us, all the time. This new VVV profile is a perfect example. Read it, enjoy it, and give some props to The MAN!

Damn straight! These are a great read. My Dad is a huge Roda fan, has been for some time. He raved about the right up. Absolutely loved it.
There was stuff on there he didn't even know and some things that bought back good memories.
You're a legend in the parts Menno! Keep it up mate.
