Just a thought after vertonghen's last run from the back. Couldn't we tr to play him in midfield again? he clearly has way more technical abilities with the ball than enoh, and probably has more tactical discipline and sense of positioning and De zeuww. Just a thought.

Some very poor defending and passing have led this to being an even game. We have had wingers open all game long but maybe players have their heads down and don't see the. de Jong is a non-presence on the field today and Eriksen has not been especially effective. We are poor in bringing the ball up from the back, it's almost as if we are afraid to make some good passes and resort to long kicks. Blind and Boilesen have both been poor. We'll see what happens now.

We've never had control of the game, even at 2-0 that's why de Jong and Eriksen have been ineffectual, the lack of a commanding defender is glaringly evident in this (and the Heerenveen) game.

Someone said try Vertonghen in midfield and I agree, he would be awesome in the sitting role.

The change of Cvitanich for Greg is strange but he was raped by Chadli a little and I think Vurnon will be a little more solid and Dario can add a little pace up front so we'll see...
