Well that certainly wasn't an easy three points but three points it is. Christ what a dramatic match.

For the neutral, that was an amazing 2nd half, 6 goals and a red card. We've been lucky, take the 3 points but we need to sort that defence, wielaert needs time to adjust but needs to do so fast, hopefully vermaelen will be back soon. Steks needs to get back up to match level otherwise Vermeer must come back in. Also now Cvitanich will have to serve a ban, so this game now effects subsequent matches. MVB is gonna have to do some thinkin and rearrangin.

But Gabri scored, so all i've just said is irrelevant :D:D:D:D:D

This was the best linkup from back to front that I've seen this season. Our midfield finally was able to provide the ball to the strike force. Great keeping from the NEC keeper otherwise this match would not have been close. The defense was still rocky. the first NEC goal was deserved on a great free kick and header. Couldn't find much fault with anyone on that. Second goal was just rubbish defending and it was a lack of concentration in not getting back soon enough.

MOTM - Sulejmani

though Schilder had a decent match and Van Der Wiel on the other side as well. Glad to take the three points.

The referee didn't have his best game, but he was way better than Mr. Wegereef, the guy who officiated the PSV game. That guy sucks.

I thought Schilder and VDWiel were both patchy. They got torched a couple of times in the first half, and I think the second goal came from a stupid foul by VDWiel.

I think if I were a neutral, I would consider this a terrific advertisement for Eredivisie soccer.

One thing about Marco: Ajax have certainly found their fighting spirit under him. Ajax teams of the last few seasons would have folded in a situation like this. Not this one.
