Just watched the first edition of "The best of AFC Ajax TV" on ESPN and I have to say I'm impressed. We had highlights of the RKC game with interviews afterwards, followed by highlights of Jong Ajax at Hollandia with a feature on the Ajax yearbook and some other stuff, old games etc.

Nice little package but I have to say that direct commentary translation from Dutch (which you can hear in the background) to English doesn't really work .

Can someone help me out with this ESPN.

Im a Virgin Media customer, and have heard that you can subscribe to watch ESPN online, which will be better quality than any stream I would imagine. Anyone know if this is true and if so how much it costs?

Good news for all Virgin Media customers in UK.....ESPN is FREE for the month of August, then you can upgrade to the XL package for £11.50 a month. They "promise" that they've taken all of the rights to the Eredivisie games off Setanta, so we should be able to follow Ajax games!!!

I suppose that's live? 3:30AM for me, so I'll be watching it on re-run a bit later, after I've had my Weetabix and hot cocoa.

If there was a god, I'd thank him for espn360. I suppose I could say, "Thank you, random free market consequences!"

ESPN is free for BT Vision customers, channel 34. Only drawback is that they start broadcasting from 12. Luckily they repeat the game at 18:30.

Just use a proxy server which is in the Nederlands then.

I am so glad I get to see Ajax many times on ESPN Deportes.

ESPN360 was terrific yesterday, especially when the commentary was lost. The ambience of the ArenA was then clearly audible .

It may not work with your isp, but if it does, it's best used in explorer. Doesn't work too well in firefox.

It's the same case with me. I have Time Warner. Time Warner hasn't fallen victim to Disney/ESPN's 'let's bring the cable tv model to the internet' scheme yet. They charge the ISPs a flat fee depending on the number of customers they have.

I'll be extremely happy if I get the channel but I'm completely pissed off at ESPN.

ESPN is still improving-As well as Ajax TV and at least one game a week we now have an Eredivisie highlights show, first one last night-looks a good deal better than Setanta's bargain-basement effort which anyway stopped the season before last so a definate improvement there.

Thank you ESPN. Next Sunday's game against AZ is live at 14.45 which probably isn't all that unexpected but a nice bonus is that the Zagreb game is also being shown live at 20.00 on Thursday here in the UK.

No pressure lads but anything less than 2 wins and I'll be disappointed

Not strictly Ajax related but they're showing a documentary at 18.00 on Tuesday night about the 1982 Moscow stadium disaster involving HFC Haarlem (at least I assume it's that Moscow Stadium disaster but if there was more than one I could be wrong).

On behalf of a friend... Does anyone know if there any public viewing places (eg restaurants or bars) in New York City that will have the Ajax - Feyenerd game?

Do you know if they're showing it on tv? If yes, do you know which channel will have it? I can find out bars if you tell me that much.

By my reckoning the match begins at 6:30 in the morning in New York. A little early on Sunday for bars to be open!!!

Just to let you English Ajax guys know, the Feyenoord game will be live on ESPN on Sunday starting at 11:30. :)

Yep, should be, providing they don't change it. They had the AZ game from Sunday listed as live for most of last week but then they showed German touring cars (zzzz) instead and showed our game Monday morning.

Hopefully "the classic" will be a big enough draw for them to leave it in.....

By my reckoning the match begins at 6.30 at the end of a long and wild New York Saturday night. A good time for bars to stay open. The sun isn't even up yet, and you don't close early when Ajax is about to kick F-word in the b-words.
