It's always nice to hear that someone has a chance to leave our biggest rival... So come on, Chelski :eusa_dance: .

I sorta disagree, a strong league with heavy competition is good for your own team as well.

Of course it is... But it's also better for the team that you support, if rivals don't have too many good players :). They have Dirk Kuijt - it's enough. The best players should play in Ajax :D .

And Shevchanko just now signed with Chelsea, too. 30 million pounds transfer fee going to Milan.

I'm all for the dismantling of Ajax' chief rivals. Now if someone would just back up the moving truck to the PSV offices, I'll be over the moon.

The Kalou story may not be over yet. It's reported that he may not get a British work permit because he is not an EU citizen, and he has not played enough international football to satisfy our immigration rules.
With the trouble the British government are in over other immigration scandals, even Chelsea's influence may not be enough to get an exception granted.
So Chelsea may have to loan him to a club in another country until he has enough international experience. And according to
www.eredivisie.nl one of the possible clubs is ... PSV!

impossible, Feyenoord and Chelsea agreed that Kalou won't be loaned to a Dutch club.

If Juventus will be thrown back to the Serie B due to the current scandal in Italy, head-coach Fabio Cappello will leave the club. He had admitted that he does not feel like working in the Serie B.
So far, only one player has stated in the press that he will stay loyal no matter what. That is Alessandro Del Piero. Most of the others have been asked, but refused to say that they will stay.

It's still a big if, as you point out, but if the
if comes true I have a feeling Capello will move to Madrid and bring a few of his boys there too. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Zlatan, Cannavaro and Emerson in Real next season.

If Juve are thrown back into Serie B at least they wont come and pinch any more of our players on the cheap.
If they go down I hope they will still pay us the OS money for Zlatan. It is not to be repaid in full until Aug 2008, so that is still about £6m they owe us.
I doubt anyone outside of Turin will cry if they go down.

I wasn't sure where to post this so it can go here......
I was browsing in the local Virgin Megastore and picked up this cheap football themed music CD called "Brazilica Futbol", a double CD boxset for £4.99 with a bonus DVD "Fans United" - as seen on TV which was supposed to be about Boca Juniors and River Plate fans. It looked intersting so I bought it, the music is really bland but the DVD was much better and was actually about Rangers/Celtic and Feyenoord/Ajax as well, staring our very own Menno!
Good film mate, I hadn't seen this before but they sort of look like they wouldn't leave you alone, following you on the train and all that......they also managed to find a Church of Scotland (protestant) minister who was Celtic fan....very bizzare really but worth the £4.99.

Quite a number of Prods support Celtic . To balance things up: I recall an item on the Scottish news, can't remember the channel, which featured a Rangers supporting Roman Catholic priest.
The wonderful world of football :D

...including me (if I'm chosing between the two) but I'm about 200 times more of a football fan than I am religious. I was just surprised by the irony of the priest, watching the game with his colleagues who were all Rangers fans.

I'm a non-practicing Presbyterian who likes Celtic a distant second to , of course, Ajax. I lived in nationalist West Belfast from 31 July 81 to 1 June 87 and became a Celtic supporter then.

Well, if any of our far-flung contributers have not been to the ArenA but would like a a stadium tour, I can recommend this site
http://www.stadionwelt.de/
As posted on the Ajaxtalk Dutch language threads. Looks a really good site by the way with pics of loads of grounds around the world.

I was given the official programme for Barca Arsenal CL final and there is a very good 50 year review magazine with it. I gave the prog to my Arsenal mad son and said I would keep the review as it does not contain anything to do with his club.(he does not like my sarcarsim). It is called 50 years of champions!
I was proud to point out that this magazine quotes and reviews 5 GREAT clubs of Europe. Real, Milan Munich Liverpool and of course AJAX.The article on our club is very good and written by Jaap de Groot of De Telegraaf. Of the great team of early 70's he states that after 30 years many fans across the world still know this unique team by heart. A good read about our really great club.

Shit man.....Juventus, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio stand trial involved in a scandal, it starts next wednesday and concluded in early January. Apparently Juventus are the worst offenders, but if all were to be found guilty then they will all be relegated. Bare in mind 3 of these 4 teams are in the champions league, I mean surely if they are guilty they would be thrown out of the competition. I dont really care about the rest, I just want Juventus relegated

I think you mean July. They want it concluded in a couple weeks, so they can deal with scheduling and arrangements for the upcoming season.

I'm hoping it's July.Better for Juve,et. al. to learn their fates before the season starts. If the clubs are found guilty, July would allow for whatever appeals would follow to,possibly, be heard by the start of the new season .January would just give those clubs another season in Serie A and would smell of sweeping things under the rug.

I hope they do get relegated, not only because I personally hate them but because it would be a terrific lesson to other teams in the world: don't fuck around with football, don't cheat, don't buy referees...
It's going to be really interesting to see where the Juve players will end up next season, I bet Del Piero and Buffon will stay but I'm wondering about Zlatan, Nedved, Vieira, Trezeguet. It would completely shake up the transfer market

I don't mean to laugh, seriously I don't (okay, maybe I do a little), but this Italian league thing is just getting WAY too ridiculous! Did he jump, or was he pushed? Maybe only the Corleone family knows.

Houllier reported to have agreed $20m Aussie deal
SOCCER supremo Frank Lowy looks to have got his man, after reports from England last night suggested that Gerard Houllier had accepted the challenge of succeeding Guus Hiddink as coach of the Socceroos.
Houllier, who has been chased for months by Football Federation Australia at Lowy's behest, has reportedly agreed to the deal put to him two weeks ago, in which he will see out the remaining year of his contract with French club Lyon and then take over the Australia team...
http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common ... 83,00.html
Interesting. They have been after this guy for ages, esp since Hiddink decided to go to Russia.
He has a huge job ahead of him, half the squad from this WC will probably retire.
