good news Dutch u 21's won 2-0 v Slovakia tonight in the 2nd leg and won 4-0 overall to qualify for the 2013 Euro u21 Champs finals. Daley Blind played all game but Dijks did not get any playing time.

another good win last night for Oranje and pleased to see V Rhijn play.

On Monday 2 youth games . The U18's lost 2-0 to Austria in a friendly with A1 youths v Koesveld, Anderson and v d Boomen all playing.

The U20's lost 4-2 in another friendly v Norway but the line up was not listed which is a shame as 6 Ajax in the squad.

Don't think this is the end of youth Ints for the year as U17's start qualifying for 2013 Euro next week with 4 from our B1 team Groothuizen a goalie, v Bruggen and Riedewald both defenders and forward Vissers signed from Sparta this summer and on a 3 year contract .

Should add the most highly rated of our B1 U17 youths are still in the Dutch Under 16, Nouri a midfielder rated as another V d Vaart and Wesley Sneijder,and Walian a striker just signed from AZ this summer.

Dutch U17's are playing 2013 Euro qualifiers this week .A group of 4 with the top 2 teams going into a final elite qualifiers.

The Dutch beat Latvia 2-1 today with our own V Bruggen scoring a goal .He plays left centre defence and the 2 other Ajax in this game Groothuizen was in goal and Riedewald left back. Vissers a 4 th Ajax player dropped out of the squad so we have just the 3 named.

Dutch u17 drew 0-0 today with Lithuania and need a draw v Belgium on saturday to finish 2nd and qualify. Groothuizen V Bruggen and Riedewald played again.

Dutch U17 actually played this evening and beat Belgium 2-1 to finish top of the group and are now in an elite play off round for a place in next summers finals , which are usually on eurosport.

Not quite the end of Junior Ints for the year as the Dutch u16 are playing in a 4 nation tourney in France and we have 4 players in the squad.

They started with a 1-1 draw v Croatia today and winger Dekker started and Walian a striker,and midfielder Nouri were subs ,goalie Meendering did not start.

Abdelhak Nouri is rated a real talent and together with Gino Dekker plays regularly in the Ajax B1 U17 team ,ie as aged 15 they are a year younger than the rest of that team . Ezra Walian ,a striker signed in the summer from AZ, has started in our B2 U16 squad but is stepping up to the U17 squad by being a sub. Clearly 3 very talented 15 year olds.

Yes and it's deserved in a way based on his play. The three current choices: Martins Indi, Wllems, and Blind are all flawed players in different ways. I think Blind is the least blessed physically but the most aware from a footballing point of view (unlike the other two, he rarely makes a bad pass in his own end). It will be interesting to see if he is in the final selection.

Even his defending -- problematic still -- has improved remarkably over last year. There may be hope for him yet.

^agree that his defending has improved markedly. The one problem he has is lack of speed and that something he cannot improve. He has to compensate by positional awareness and while he has been doing well here, he blew it big time on the first Feyenoord goal on Sunday where he was so far away from Verhoek that he could not recover.

No Tom the winner of this game will win the World Cup titles from 1974 and 1978. As the winners from these two World Cups were recently caught as frauds, Holland, the losing team of both World Cup finals will get the opportunity to claim the two titles. But only if they win on Wednesday 14 November.

Youth Int news

U16 beat Norway today 6-1 in the tourney in France .Nouri and Walian scored a goal each and Dekker and Meendering also played.

Apart from the senior game on 14th Nov the U18's play a friendly v Turkey and U19 play Zwolle in a friendly . The initial squads contain 15 Ajax players just about all our A1 players

ie U18 Acolatse,Anderson,Becker, V d Boomen, V Koesveld, Noordhoff, Tete (final squad not yet picked)

U19 squad picked de Bondt,Gravenberch, V d Hart,El Hasnaoui , Menig , standbys Keskin,Leeuwenburgh,and Rosheuvel.


I find the U19 a bit weird as the squad includes Achabar, Boetius , both played against us last Sunday , and de Vilhena, and Kongolo also been in Fword 1st team plus Depay PSV 1st team, Rekik ex Fword who has played for Man City 1sts aged 16. Then we have on standby from Ajax Rosheuvel who does not have a contract and has played every minute for the A1's so far this season ,unlike anyone else.!!!

For the record Dutch U16 lost 1-0 to France today with Dekker Walian and Nouri all starting . Hope these are 3 future players for our future.

Apparently both Vermeer and van Rhijn are in the starting 11 for the NT match against Germany tonight. I think this is Vermeer's first match at the senior level.

German TV is not being very kind to LvG and Ajax etc. in the intro. I'm hoping for a nice 3–0 or something.

Really? What was the excuse then for mighty Germany for not beating such a team? I've heard that Van Gaal got some nice trolling by saying that Germany under Lowe is nice and all but still can't win.

As we don't have a topic for international friendlies I will abuse this one. Againg an amazing comeback from Sweden, last month the went from 4-0 down against Germany to 4-4. only comment about the Germany game is that no Hunter no goals.Still praying he does not end up with the deadend club called Liverpool. Pleased Vermeer had a good game and no goals against.

Meanwhile just to mention 2 Junior Ints with Ajax youth .

U18 lost 4-1 in a friendly v Turkey with only Branco v d Boomen playing. Anderson and Tete dropped out with injuries and 4 other of our A1 youths were on standby list .

U19 had a practice game v Zwolle first team and lost 2-1 with our man Queensy Menig scoring . V d Hart, Gravenberch,de Bondt,and El Hasnaoui all played.

No more youth Ints until next year now.

There are Int friendlies 6th of next month at full , U21,U20,U19 and plenty of Ajax in the initial squads

I listed the initial Dutch squads last week but maybe I should in future wait until the final squads are picked .

Today the U19 final squad ,of only 16 includes just V d Hart and El Hasnaoui with our other 5 I listed last week are standby . Given V d Hart plays for Jong Ajax and not for our A1 that means only 1 of our A1 players is good enough yet we have an A1 squad with about 14 under contract.

At lower levels both Dutch U16 and U17 are in Portugal for 4 nations tournements next week and final squads include plenty from both our B1 and B2 teams ie U 17 and U16 teams.
Out of interest I show the names .

In the U17 squad are 7 Ajax , Groothuizen goalie, Vissers midfielder who came from Sparta in the summer and has a contract,plus 5 defenders, Mirani, Lartey Sanniez, V Bruggen,Owusu and Riedewald. All play for our B1 except for Riedewald who has now moved up to our A1. If 5 defenders seems alot do not forget that the best 16 year old defender in Holland Bazoer is now with us but barred from competitive games for the rest of the season.

At U16 level there are 6 , V Bladderen goalie, Savastano and V Zweeden both defenders.These 3 are all B2 ie in our U16 team. The other 3 Walian striker, Nouri midfielder and Dekker winger are all 15 but in our B1 ie U17 team. Nouri is rated a future star and Walian,who came from Utrecht last summer is highly rated.

I will just post one report at the end of their tournements as both are minor. Not sure too many people are interested in U16 and U17 however our U17's do appear on Eurosport with Ajax U17 easter tournement plus European championships every year .
