Does anyone know if De Hems still show Ajax games?
I'll be in London for a few days and might try to watch Ajax - NAC there if it's still possible.

I'm pretty certain that they don't anymore. I haven't actually been for a while but when I was there during the summer for the Euro games they were showing them on British TV which makes me think that they don't have Dutch TV anymore (previously even the World Cup/Euro games were always shown on Dutch TV).
Would suggest phoning them but I think you can only call from the UK as it's a special type number (0871 984 2557).
The pub is well worth a visit with or without the football though, sells some nice Belium and Dutch beer so you could always pop in and ask if you're in that area.

Just to say about the streams for the last 3games. I do use my p2p but have only got the media player links which happens to be justin tv . Volendam game was our NZ friend and last night Iraq . I have tried the sopcast streams but channel just kept saying not connected. It cannot be me as Volendam game I believe most of you got our NZ friend.
I have not downloaded TV ANTS. Is that worth it? I am only asking as the streams I get via Justintv are not as good as sopcast. The action is a bit stuttery and looks as if it is not at full speed. I did not get that problem with sopcast.( pressing the media link on myp2p takes you direct to justintv link whereas sopcast you then open windows media player seperately. This could be the reason )
This has not spoilt the games for me but it is a bit of a bind as it is now 3 games on the trot.
PS It is abit rich me complaining about the quality of an illegal free broadcast!!!!!! Still I thought I would ask you experts.

I can't say that I am an expert but I've tried all the P2P software programs and have from my location here in the US, only Sopcast has proven reliable. JustinTV (using Windows Media Player) is hit or miss and i find the quality of the feeds very poor. TV Ants never works right and it takes ages to connect to a stream. Sopcast seems to work quite well and I watched the last 20 minutes from work yesterday.
We have been fortunate that ESPN360 (I think only available here in the states) has been carrying all the Ajax league matches (not the UEFA Cup games) and has an excellent picture (but often no commentary which is OK as I know all the players). However, it is only available on my home computer as it's linked to my ISP.

Thanks for the reply. I must say I tend to just look at the sopcast link that p2p shows to connects to. It may well be if I look at the other channels on sopcast one of them will have the game.

Another question/problem: I've never been able to use sopcast. I've installed it on my computer, but I only ever get am able to bring up the menu page. I can't get an actual stream.
What gives?

I wish they would develop a Sopcast equivalent for the Mac. I can only use Media Player feeds, and that New Zealand bloke is driving me bonkers.

Amen to that; catching Ajax games on my MacBook has mostly been an exercise in futility.
And (off-topic) I have to ask, since I'm a proud alumnus of Williams College in Massachusetts, whose mascot is, yes, the Purple Cow, are you by any chance a fellow Eph?

I haven't actually heard the NZ guy, but does anyone by chance have his name?
Just moved house and at my new place the internet is so slow that I doubt I'll be seeing any games for a while.

Yeah, SopCast for Mac would be very very handy. I resorted to installing Windows onto my Mac just to watch Ajax games. It really has turned out to have been worth it, but you need access to a copy of Windows...

Some times you have to paste or type the link into the sopcast channel line. Are you getting the site from:
http://www.myp2p.eu/
Usually the link should load automatically. If you are running Vista you need to change one of the commands. let me know.

I have just got adigibox for my Tv and it gets something called freeview and this includes Setantasport 1 free from midnight to midday. No good for live games but they show repeats of games again in middle of night.
Having shown Ajax about 10 out of the last 11 weeks I see PSV were on this week and for the next 2weeks.
I will still need to see live matches on myp2p but given that Channel 5 no longer show dutch football at least I will see some games on proper Tv in english.

I'm running Vista - maybe that's it. I am getting my streams from myp2p.eu.

Try doing it manually as follows:
*Start Sopcast manually
*Go to the myp2p.eu schedule pages
*Copy the link manually (right mouse on the PLAY link --> copy the url location/copy hyperlink with sop://)
*Put it on top in the sopcast adress bar
*Press enter/the blue white arrow , and the channel will start

Dutch League: Ajax vs. de Graafschap
8:30 AM ET
Dutch League: Feyenoord vs. PSV (SPA)
Eh, who's that Spanish team? Paella Sevilla ... er... Voldemortigo?

Setanta 2 have 3 live Eredivisie games this weekend. F-word v NAC today at 13.25, PSV v FC Twente at 17.40, and, saving the best for last, Ajax v ADO Den Haag at 11.25 on Sunday
(so it's a special Merry Christmas to Setanta from me! Hup NAC!)

EreDivisie Live, who I believe run the internet matches live for a fee in Holland only are complaining of the amout of live football being shown
illegally on the internet.
Any chance of them being able to stop it??

Those idiots would better start to allow foreigners to watch their streams then. You can't even watch the free videos they broadcast on their website if you're not in the Netherlands.

Would agree. Its about time they allowed games to be shown officially outside Holland .
I imagine they have paid out a lot of money for this service but are having a moan at the illegal sites.

You would think it would be well nigh impossible to police. It's like trying to stop BitTorrent, isn't it?

I would be more than happy to sign up for a live internet feed from the official broadcasters. Get with the times TV companies.
I am happy to pay for a decent quality official feed, than watch some dodgy broken up stream. Make it happen already.

Yeah, they won't stop anything, same way filesharing, bittorrent, and other P2P applications are growing, rather than being stopped by those against them. The P2P broadcasts have only gotten better in quality and reliability over the last few years. They're only going to get better too, so I see why they might not like it.
Eredivisie Live doesn't really have anyone to bitch at but themselves. Even though the P2P streams are good, I'd gladly pay for what Eredivise Live offer if only they'd offer it to me. Where I'm at, the P2P streams are my only way to see 99% of the games.
I would prefer something like Eredivisie Live, something that I know will be more reliable and generally better quality. I'd like to know when the games going to start, I can have a reliable stream ready. I'd also love the ability to stream any previous games in case I missed them (I don't know if they offer this, but I assume they do). I was hoping Ajax would develop something like this through their site, but don't think it will happen as long as Eredivisie Live is around.
It seems like a lot of us would be willing to pay for a service like this, it's just too bad they don't realize it yet.

Not sure if you guys have seen this.
MyP2P.eu schreef:Because of pending legal proceedings, Myp2p has removed all links in the following competions:
Elitserien - SM-Liga - NHL - Swedish Allsvenskan - Italian Serie A - English Premier
League - Dutch Eredivisie.
Once a judgment has been given, we will notify you of the outcome.
Sounds like bad news, but I did a little digging around in the forum on MyP2P. It appears that people will still be able to post links to the games in the MyP2P forum. Also it's unclear whether MyP2P can actually be held legally responsible for the actual streaming
per se; their argument will be that they merely provide links, which is an argument that has worked for the BitTorrent site Thepiratebay.org.
Anyway it's annoying for the moment, but we should still be able to watch the games.
On a side note: for those using Firefox, if you haven't discovered the FootieFox add-on, I highly recommend it. It puts an icon on your status bar that you can click to get the upcoming weekend's schedule. Most useful thing is that it'll automatically convert the kick-off times into your local timezone, which is handy for me and I suspect other international people. Enjoy.
