What has been done with the CL money is a mystery to me.
Because every time we sold a player the one we got for replacement was of a lower level.

Instead of saying this, he could just say "we have decided not to renew his contract."
There's no need for him to publicly analyse the player, that kind of stuff should stay within the four walls of the changing room. I think, in general, too much stuff like this comes into the open at Ajax, and it's not good for team morale.
This brings to mind good old Leo Beenhaaker :pukey: publicly questionning the worth of his players in the aftermath of the Netherlands Failure to qualify for Mexico '86. Beenkaakers intent was to deflect all blame from himself and on to his players. There is an old saying: 'you reap what you sow' and, with most of the targets of his then criticism in tow, Beenhaaker reaped just such a bitter harvest at Italia 90.
There seems to be a certain level of discontent at the club: Van der Vart leaving at the end of last season and Trabelsi, De jong and Pienaar about to do likewise. If Ajax had indicated to Trabelsi and Pienaar that they were as valued as Heitinga they would have most probably signed new contracts.
As it is : Ajax being Ajax they fucked things up. I stand by my belief they fucked up somewhat over Boukhari. The decision was correct, but not the manner in which they reached the decision.

Maxwell is leaving too. And Escudé already left. I don't see Grygera staying at the end of the season. I just don't see him.

Yeah, and in between '86 and '90 Holland won the European Championship under Rinus Michels, so those useless players old Leo was forced to work with weren't that bad after all.
Van Basten, Rijkaard, the Koemans, Gullit, Wouters, Vanenburg, Mühren, Bosman, Van 't Schip... I guess most managers in the world wouldn't mind having one or two of these shit players...
Leo Beenhakker is a smart man and a very good technical director, but not a very good head-coach. With Real Madrid he won a few Spanish titles, but in Europe he completely and totally failed with them.

i think you misunderstand my post. I am being critical of Beenhaaker airing his dirty linen in public; blaming the players for everthing and seeking to deflect all criticism from himself. Beenkaaker had a fine squad of players to work with at Italia '90 ,(note: Muhren never played for Beenhaaker; didn't participate in qualifying campaign for Mexico; retired from National side after Euro '88), but as i stated in my post he payed the price for his self serving remarks over the Mexico 86 failure. Many of the 90 squad had been targets for Beenhaakers criticism; they did not forgive or forget. Hence the disconted atmosphere at Italia 90 and hence spectacular failure. Another thing: no where in my post do i refer to players such as Van Basten or Vanenburg ( one of Beenhaakers main targets for criticism and in turn his greatest critic) as shit.

Personally I blame Ajax USA for Escude leaving.
Yup the kiss of death - had a look at all the old Ajax USA interviews and realised that all the people interviewed have left the club shortly after (Escude, Chivu, Escude, Litmanen, O'Brien, Adriaanse, Koeman) or about to leave in Piennar's case.
Quick somebody set up an interview with Johnny Heitinga :D

Are you being subtle as a train crash there Philippe by leaving Rosenberg off your list?

Good question, OPH... :D
Another thing: Galásek has not extended his deal yet, it is still uncertain whether Ajax will permanently land Juanfran or not and Grygera has not made up his mind yet.
So, in principle the ones we will certainly have in our squad next season are: Babel, Emanuelson, Rosenberg, Galásek, Huntelaar, Maduro, Lindenbergh, Mitea, Sneijder and Stekelenburg, plus (some more names you forgot)
Heitinga, Krohn-Dehli, Vermaelen, Manucharyan and Rosales.

Now let's cut the crap. Let's go for more "boukharism" : who among this list is "good enough for Ajax" ? :eusa_liar:

As I posted in the Dutch Zones earlier today: in my opinion we have two players who are - under whatever circumstance - not good enough for Ajax, namely Boukhari and Heitinga.
The rest should be good enough to bring Ajax back to the top of the Eredivisie.
As for the
European top: most of them are not good enough for that, except Sneijder, Grygera and possibly Juanfran (haven't seen enough of him just yet). Trabelsi and Maxwell are also good enough for the European top, but they're leaving.
So, yeah, when it comes to European glory we will have to be (very) patient.

Do roses and roast pig have anything to do with the Islam...? (didn't know)

what on earth are you talking about?
all i said was if van geel has to wait until AJAX supporters treat boukhari like caeser to avoid charges of "playing to the masses", then he will need to wait an awful looooooooong time
really... i don't even see how you got such nonsense out of what i said

Without wishing to accuse anybody of anything, I can spread some light on the issue. Boukhari is of Moroccan origin, Morrocco being a mainly Muslim country so it's a fair bet that Boukhari is Muslim, whether practising or not. Under Islam, eating Pork/Bacon/Pig is strictly forbidden as the animal is seen as unclean. Therefore to knowingly toast him or any other Muslim with Pork/Bacon would be seem as extremely inappropriate at best and downright offensive at worst.
I hope this explains things.
It's similar to Jewish
kosher food really.

Eurika! It's not the reference to pork , rather the mention of roses. A little background is necessary: Roses are a well known box of chocolates sold in the UK, many boxes are bought and consumed at Christmas time. In recent years the more popular chocolates in the selection have been made available to buy seperately and in a much larger size. One of these is the Big Green Triangle. But the most popular one is ... THE BIG PURPLE ONE. ;)
If Boukhari were to be lavished with a BIG PURPLE ONE this would be more frowned upon than if he were to eat roast pig. :D
I will end now; have moved to far into Zoefland ... have to get out before it's to late.
Shite ! just remembered the big purple one is quality street not roses. :X

And you say Rosales will stay? I say he will stay unless we have sufficient replacemements

The list of who will likely stay next season comes to about 15 players which I mentioned a week or 2 ago. Not convinced Rosales will stay but overall we will have to buy about 6/7 players. Another winger, 2 midfielders another experienced goalie plus a defence, as. Heitinga, Emanuelson and Vermaelen are all that will be left.

Six or seven new players ..mmmmm.... I hope that dosen't translate as one rough diamond amongst the usual plethora of driftwood and used toilet rolls.

Are we going to start buying new players in the January window, or this summer? Do they have a plan? Does anyone know? Or have they given up on the season? Anyone?? Anyone?? :???:
