What are your expectations from this game?
Would you say its important to do well to regain some lost confidence?
De grapshit should make good shooting practice...that way we can fine tune our finishing skills for the Slavia return leg.

I want a goal fest :ajaxscarf.gif: :ajaxsmiley.gif:
Yeah...now thats what i`m talking about...

Good too see Maduro get a pair..after a horrible tenure last season we really need for him to step up in midfield and take some of the load off after Sneijder'd departure....nice to see Delorge get some action....Suarez seems like the perfect replacemente for Babel....lets hope we score some more in Prague.

Hup Ajax....i would expect no less.

Hunter definitely knows how to shut up the doubters. Whether it's those saying he can't play with Sneijder last year or those saying he's out of form this year, he has rendered the critics speechless .... for at least a week.

Congratulations AJAX!!! Eight goals , an excellent striking partnership on the day, a plus 7 GD , new signings Kennedy and Suarez out of the gate and on the score sheet, and an honest to goodness Maduro sighting for at least a week . What more could a supporter ask for?

Victory next Sunday and at least 1:2 in Prague . That's what!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent, this is what I'm talking about. Good to see Maduro back, KJH in scoring form, and Suarez making his 7.5 worth.

This is a bloody great result. Of course: it's 'only' De Graafschap and a win of 0-3 or even 0-4 would not have said anything, really. But 1-8! That really is something. A very unusually large win in an away game. I didn't see the game (was at the Lowlands music festival), but we must have done something right.

It's very difficult to really make an impression against a weak side. You have nothing to win; only something to lose. Unless you put a very large win on the boards - and that's what we did. Fantastic.

P.S.: we'll fix it in Prague - mark my words.

K.

Anyway, there's a difference between pushing the boundaries and being a fuckwit. I'll bet you didn't have such a charitable view on diving when Ajax lost to PSV thanks to Farfan's dive a couple of years ago.

Why is everyone so easily taking it to be a dive? I'll give you two things: there wasn't contact and Suarez went to the ground. But from what I saw from the replay looked like Suarez took too sharp a turn and lost his balance and fell.
Anyways diving is more and more becoming a usual occourence. No one likes it but I guess you just got to live with it.

I see your point, but I dont necessarily agree here. We don't have to live with it.

FIFA should get some balls and ban the little shits who dive, in or out of the box. Its a blight on the game. I know its not easy for the ref, but we have cameras. Ban the guys who do this after the game if required.

You start doing this and make it a decent suspension and its stops. Simple really.

Farfan :icon_frown.gif: PSV :bomb.gif:

Suarez :pepsi.gif: :kjh.gif: :icon_redface.gif:

Well, when a bad decision is made I'd rather feel a little bit :blush.gif: because it has been in our favour.

True, but the arms flying up in the air whilst the legs collapsed from under him was a bit of a give away in my book. From what I saw (albeit on Sopcast so it wasn't exatcly a 42" TV or anything) it was a very clear dive. I was also suspicious of the one against Slavia Praha.

I totally agree with DanK on the issuing of bookings retrospectively.

Suarez is a diver. If he didn't dive this one particular time it doesn't change the fact that he is a diver. I watched him play in the U-21s and he, along with the rest of his teammates, threw themselves to the pitch whenever they could. I hope he gets disabused of this habit while at Ajax.

Diving sucks, even if an Ajacied does it.

Diving sucks!!!! Except where Louganis Machlas and his patented dive v. F-word created a peno ( in 2002) and rescued a 1:1 draw :excited.gif: . This occurred in front of a huge crowd ; a crowd including Rendezvous in A'dam attendees. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Match Report

Match report of De Graafschap vs Ajax is now up on Ajax USA, ladies and gentlemen!

http://www.ajax-usa.com/matches/m07-08/ ... p-1-8.html

I was at the Lowlands Festival and missed the whole thing, so this report was once again written for you by Gordon Paterson, a.k.a. Jamcocteau. The good man seems to enjoy it, and I sure as hell enjoy reading his reports, so you can expect his name at the bottom of Ajax USA match reports more frequently from now on.

But hey: I enjoy writing match reports, too, so I will do the Heerenveen one meself! :666.gif:

Nicely written Jamcocteau, only critic is that Rommedahl gave the assist for the last goal :ajaxscarf.gif:

Also did anyone see Suarez trying to run at defenders but barging into both of them?
Was this a one-off or he can't run past defenders?

(PS not meaning to be a wuss but how come no one replies to me?)

I haven't seen too much of him, but the general consensus seems to be that he's going to be a good player. He might not have phenomenal speed, but he has good technical ability.

Not sure if that answers your questions, though. :1evil.gif:
