Why go on about a meaningless goal scored in one of the best victories of recent years when there are an abundance of examples of goals conceded and points dropped against crap teams?

fact is, when you miss the itle by one goal over 34 games, there are 100 moments that could be pointed out and they are all correct... that's what makes it so galling! everyone will focus on one more than the others

mine is the AZ "goal" wegereef allowed, i sit in disgust over it everyday

You're absolutely right. When I want to wallow in self-pity, I think about the Wegereef moment. I remember watching it when it happened. I was sooooo not surprised when he allowed it. I just knew he was going to allow it. So that takes care of my sense of self-righteousness.

When I'm more in the mood for angry recriminations, I like to dwell on the Vitesse raway esult. For some reason that just pisses me off more than the other chokes. Don't know why.

It's illegal to lunge in studs showing and your legs stretched. The goalkeeper should have been protected.

No, that would be Denis Irwin, in an infamous deliberate and extremely ugly foul in a major Champions League game against Feyenoord. Bosvelt did the business, knocked Irwin out of the game (Irwin was out of action for some 9 months with a torn ACL as a result), and was then immediately substituted out like a coward, afraid, no doubt of the aforementioned Keene's inevitable retribution.

I can't remember the exact season, but sufficed to say... Feyenoord in the Champions League... we'd have to go back a looooooong way.

BTW, I think Irwin was a fullback for MUFC, not midfielder. My bad.
