I checked AjaxNetwerk re: the Playoff Final v. Groningen. That site lists the matches as being on 26.4 and 3.5; with the first leg at the ArenA.It also says ticket sales begin tomorrow.
Also, I read that Rosales was subbed out with a muscle injury. Was this more precautionary, i.e. to save him for the 1st leg of the final?

No, Rosales pulled a hamstring and might not even make the cupfinal. Maduro is also highly unlikely for wednesday.

I just saw the highlights on Talpa. The misses from Van Hooijdonk and Kalou were out of this world.
The Ajax goals were fantastic. Charisteas was brilliant when he came on too, we need to find a way to combine him and Huntelaar in the same team. The third goal where Huntelaar crossed to Rosenberg, who laid it off to Charisteas, who crossed it for Boukhari was fantastic. Ajax's third best goal of the season, after the two last minute jobs in Thun.

Dubbel, if you check the advanced settings you will notice that you are connected to a number of leechers with an almost identical download percentage. No one downloader is able to just grab and run from this tracker. So, don't worry if at times there seems to be no 'seeder' ... it doesn't matter ... keep downloading you will get the complete file, but it takes longer than usual. :xyxthumbs:

Where's your boxset DVD's gone to now then Feyenoord? All of our goals were great I thought but apart from Kuyt their forwards were atrocious. Van Hooijdonk on a free fr next season anyone? :xyxthumbs:

Well said that man :xyxthumbs: Off the field Van Hooijdonk has just about the exact polar opposite reputation that Yannis has!

Its funny isn't it. Even well before the playoffs started you could just see us playing and then beating Fword. I remember the discussion here. It just had to happen.
I still think we have a LOT to do to improve next season, but you cannot argue with our forwards. about 5 shots on goal and 4 in the back of the net. Gotta love it.
Poor AZ though... :aai:

very interesting to watch, there was a great moment in the first half additionnal time (47' mn), when Ajax was already leading by 2-0 (so it was all over for fey@dr anyway) when those idiots missed twice in front of an almost empty goal. This should be on any "football blunders" DVD.
Yet another DVD from fey@ndr.
:drecul2:
well, let's not get carried away, this was only feyenoord after all

For me the best part of the day was seeing Bosschaart stuff up for the first goal. Pissa. Wasn't he the shit who tried to headbutt Huntelaar after the 1st leg.
What goes around comes around...love it :xyxthumbs:

Sure was, justice was seen to be done.
..and thanks Ajax, you've made a happy man very old.

Ajax USA schreef:"Danny Blind, who doesn't know him? Danny Blind, Danny Blind is a true Ajacied!" sang the travelling fans. After which the whole of The Netherlands could see on TV how an emotional Danny Blind had to stop the interview and turn away from the camera. K.
Say what you will about Blind's coaching ability, I was truly glad that the fans did that for him. It seemed to mean a lot to him, and I think we shouldn't forget that, whatever his strengths as a coach, he is an Ajax man.

KO, both legs are an incredible read.THANKS A TON! Being sick with the flu blows, but at least I get to relive 180 glorious minutes in my minds eye. Hope the next three matches will allow for your typically awesome wordsmithing.Aveslacker, your words about my alltime fave Ajacied are right on target. Echoing Cedric_AeF's post.

"paid too little attention to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. A fatal mistake. Mauro Rosales gave a simple thru-ball and away was Huntelaar, who waited 'til goalkeeper Lodewijks left the goal-line, then superbly chipped the ball into the far side netting, 'Bergkamp style'"
Good call Ko. It was very "Bergkamp". There is definitely something special about Klaas. He is very calm in front of goal, creates that little bit of extra space for himself and he seems to have all the time in the world to shoot. He's instinctive, can score from almost anywhere and also helps the team defend and as we saw against Fsticks, his reading of the game is outstanding as is his passing.
What I really, really like about the guy though is how calm he seems off the pitch. I saw the interview with him after the 1st leg of the play-offs and he stated Bosschaart's "handshake" was "nothing more than a little kiss" or something like that. This reminded me of van Basten's attitude.
If he keeps developing like he is he will be an outstanding player for Holland and hopefully Ajax for years to come.

nice report Ko, however I have to disagree with the conclusion : "These two historic wins over Feyenoord meant the world, and might actually make for a euphoric ending to what was in many ways the club's worst Eredivisie campaign since 1965... "
figures are figures, but if we qualify for the CL, and maybe win the Cup, after a season when we reached the CL 1/8 finals, it can not be considered as such a terrible season
remember the 100 anniversary Wouters season ??

That's why it says "in many ways" and "Eredivisie campaign".
And when it comes to the football itself, it was easily the worst season I have witnessed as an Ajax supporter.
